A brilliant side. I don't remember the '74 WC as only 6 at the time but have vague memories of the following World Cup in Argentina where the Netherlands got to the final again loosing to Argentina. That team was very impressive too though not quite so special as Cryuff didn't play in that tournament.
I was 8 years old and till now love this color football, Orange Team.🧡
The only world cup where people do not just remember the winner Germany but much more the magic of Cruijff & the orange team.
In 1954 too, the most remembered team was Hungary, who lost to Germany as well.
The only difference is that the germanian team in 1974 was better
1954 and 1982 as well. But that German team is remembered. They beat that Swedish team the Durch couldn't beat and beat the Dutch as well

Everywhere I was in the world and I spoke people they always mention Cruijff and never Zidane, that how big Cruijff is in the world and that has nothing to do where I am from. Cruijff is just much bigger than every player in the world ever!!!

Along with the Hungarian team of '54 the best squad that didn't get to win the World Championship. And both were defeated by West Germany in the final.

El único error de Holanda en la final del 74' fue aflojar en el segundo tiempo, por eso perdió el título.Pero fue realmente un deleite ver jugar.....
No bajaron el ritmo en absoluto en la segunda parte. Tuvieron muchas oportunidades, pero no pudieron marcar.

That second germany goal - the way he went past the defender before crossing to Muller was incredible.
