Superb video. Grew up watching the likes of Cruyff, Neeskens, Haan and Krol etc in the 70's. These along with other Ajax greats formed the backbone of Holland in the '74 World Cup final as well as establishing Ajax as the greatest club side since Madrid. Ajax remain my favourite continental European side to this day. Thanks for the memories.

This is one of the best vids Ive seen of Cruyff so far, amazing player... its impossible to say which player is the best ever, the usual top 3 are Pele, Cruyff & Maradona, they all had their own style & none of them was clearly ahead of the other so its a matter of preference probably, Im not saying Cruyff was outright the best ever but I will say this, no player was ever his superior, he was as complete as they have ever came & fully deserved his European player of the century award in 1999.

I agree with che1609. in my opinion Cruijff is the best overall player. Pele and Maradona are the best too, but Cruijff could do everything where Pele and Maradona are stuck to (maybe midfield and) attacking.
Not all British were unhappy when Maradona ko'd England. England is not the only part of the UK. But though i was delighted with his form in 86 i can't say i approve of cheating, and he was shamed in 2 other world cups, won a lot less trophies than Cruyff, who did wonders for Ajax, Holland and Barca.

You're right! Football today is nothing compared to what the game was. The 'Americanisation' of football has created the downfall of the game. It's all about sponsorships, glamour and money now. Players trained tougher and played even harder back then. The game was more attacking , free-flowing, less tactic-orientated and more physical and had less of a "play it safe" attitude which is holding a lot of teams back now. The referees didn't tend to be too card-happy either like they are today.

Overigens deed Laudrup inderdaad iets vergelijkbaars. Al niet helemaal vergelijkbaar. Maar zelfs dan. Laudrup was ook een speler met veel meer tactisch inzicht dan de gemiddelde speler. Ik vind echter niet dat Laudrup op puur technisch niveau vergeleken kan worden met Cruijff.

The most innovative and complete player yet.Maradonna is my all time favourite but he wasn't as well rounded and complete as cruyff.South america has two of the greatest ever in Pele and Maradonna but Europe has two of the most complete in Cruyff and bekenbauer who were both succesfull as players and managers.Cruyff with Barcelona and Bekenbauer with Germany.

Overigens deed Laudrup inderdaad iets vergelijkbaars. Al niet helemaal vergelijkbaar.
Maar zelfs dan. Laudrup was ook een speler met veel meer tactisch inzicht dan de gemiddelde speler. Ik vind echter niet dat Laudrup op puur technisch niveau vergeleken kan worden met Cruijff.
Het punt was ook niet dat Laudrup even goed was als Cruijff, maar dat hij vrijwel hetzelfde heeft gepresteerd! Ik vind dat Cruijff zowel: technisch als tactisch stukken beter was als Laudrup.
