I hate to tell you but she is not even 11 here, she is actually 10 & about to leave Oslo with her team for an extended tour of the US. A couple of years later she & family moved to LA for her career & she resides there today. By this age, she had a fully adult voice & I believe she can be fairly compared to any professional vocalists regardless of her age. This is smooth, sophisticated, jazz perfection by a little girl on a rooftop in Oslo.

Thank you, Harri, for another excellent reaction to Angelina. For me, this is by far the "smoothest" jazz song she has performed to date. I have no issue with Reactors commenting upon Angelina's age when she is singing the song to which they are reacting, as long as they are comparing her performance with ALL other singers, regardless of age. What I do object to is the implication that their judgement is based solely on her age, for example phrases such us "she is good for her age" suggesting that compared with other young persons of the same age she is good but compared with an older professional singer she isn't. In my opinion, at the age of 10 Angelina had shed all childishness in her voice and earned the right to "stand tall" with all other professionalsingers.

Great reaction Harri - you missed the interview and introduction before this song. This was recorded in the summer of 2016, before a long trip to the USA, you can think of it as her farewell to Oslo before the trip. In the USA trip she recorded Fly me to the moon at the salt lake in the desert, along with I will survive and later, in New York, a studio version of Fly me to the Moon for a LinkedIn advert. This young lady was always keeping busy, followed by two songs in London, What a difference a Day Makes on Little Big Stars with Dawn French and Autumn Leaves with a video made in St James' park, on returning to Norway she did the Feeling Good performance on the TV show, it goes on and on - this lady is just relentless!
Ella was rated #1, out of the Top 50 Jazz Singers of All Time. That being said. When Angelina takes on Ella's iconic song, all she does differently from Ella is slowing it down. It proves the saying, 'less can be more', for Angelina's version just permeates the human soul. Sheer perfection !

I have listened to around a dozen singers perform this song including Ella. It's a beautiful song and with only an acoustic guitar at 10 years old this is my favorite version. The little nuances she brings to this adds even more to the song. Notice the part "an air of spring about it", how she carries the word spring a little nasally with a slur for example. I have only heard this on Angelina's version. For another one that will surprise you and is a fan favorite is I'M STILL HOLDING OUT FOR YOU at 10 years old. I keep using her age, but for me age is important because it is absolutely mind blowing what she does. So few other "child singers" have ever been able to do what she can do.

Allow me to be pedantic for a moment: there won't ever be a 22-year-old president of the U.S., unless a constitutional amendment is ratified to allow presidents to be younger than 35 (which is never going to happen). Even if you consider the line of succession (which goes through, e.g., Speaker of the House and cabinet secretaries), anyone who becomes president that way has to meet the same age requirement. I found the setting on a rooftop in the open with the framework of a gantry totally 'cold' setting for a 'soulful' ballad and this in itself lost the ambiance of the song's intimacy. While there is no doubt she has a good voice there seems to be a lack of emotion and sincerity and sounded like a little girl with a unique voice singing a song. Perhaps the location was the wrong choice. Not her best performance and no way should be considered in the same class as Ella and Simply Red. We don't present our voice to the audience we resonate our souls and this comes with the experience of life. A great future for this young girl no doubt.
