This is one of my favourites off Angelina. It’s so Beautiful. It always makes me cry thought because she’s saying goodbye to Oslo in her own country of Norway. She’s on her way to LA .It must have been really a difficult decision for all the family,but we know it was the right thing to do for her courier .she still goes home when she can. She did a few concerts there last year . We all know has well that Jazz is her first love. I’m sure I saw a tear there when you said it reminded you of your grandma. This is what Angelina does so well. She gets right to your heart and she does it beautifully. This is why we all say she makes us cry ,but in a good way. Angelina is simply the Best. Great Reaction. The only real difference between this and Ella's legendary rendition is that Angelina knows the only way to cover this song and make it her own is to simply 'slow it down' a bit more than Ella. It proves her genius is in knowing 'less can be more' at times. She, of course, adds her subtle riff changes within the song but all they do is bring more emotion laden penetration than Ella. It's virtually impossible to sing this song any better, and let's not forget that this isn't a full professional set up like Ella's recording but a casual performance, outdoors. with only a simple guitar keeping time for her on this outdoor rooftop.
Cole wrote the song! Ten year old Angelina not only was singing this as a farewell to her beloved Norway, but she was completely at ease, even smiling at one point, as her message was winging its way over the airwaves to who knows how many TV watchers. Apparently Nothing ruffles her feathers, ever!

It's my understanding, from more knowledgeable commenters, that this performance was just prior to the family moving to LA and the song selection was a goodbye to her native Norway.
This was when she was 10 & was leaving for an extended tour of the USA for work & fun. She & her family didn't move to LA until 2 years later when she was 12.
Cole Porter is one of America's greatest song writers. He did, in fact, write this song. Covered by probably hundreds of singers. You should really google him. You generally seem to be knowledgeable about most of the music you react to but I fear you are mistaken this time. Long time sub and thumbs up.
