Gerard looked this up: "Mosi-oa-Tunya" has been embraced by both Zimbabwe and Zambia to differing degrees. There are many languages spoken in the area today and it is not known what the Falls were called by the locals thousands of years ago. "Mosi-oa-Tunya” is of Kololo origin, but may only date back to the early 1800s when they moved from the area of South Africa into what is today Botswana and Zambia.
The hippo yawn! The sunset on the river! I’m only a minute in and loving it already.
The moonbows are some of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!
Love this! Victoria Falls is on my bucket list of places to see. Thanks for sharing your trip!
You're very welcome, so glad you're enjoying the videos!
Oh the rainbows!!!!! 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Some people warn against going to the falls mid-day, but if we had listened we wouldn't have seen nearly as many rainbows!
New goal in life: see a moonbow.
We are SO GLAD that we went to Victoria Falls in general, and especially that we were there at the time of the Moonbow!
I love that you included the native name. Is it the Zambian name or Zimbabwean name for the falls?
