Another great video - such beautiful flora & fauna. I think the lionfish was Ricardo Montalban's "prized, rare fish" in one of the Naked Gun movies. Leslie Nielsen managed to drop Montalban's priceless pen (impervious to "everything but water") into the fish tank ... hilarity ensued.
Thanks Rob! I do not recall that scene, it is possible I never saw all of the Naked Gun movies, I always loved Leslie Nielsen's characters whatever he was in 🙂
I found that clip th-cam.com/video/Qbcqg_70i-w/w-d-xo.html 😂😂😂
@@gicdjcthat’s the one!!
@@gicdjc I just watched it again and laughed out loud. The only funnier scene is when Drebin destroys that space later … complete with player piano accompaniment. The man was a comedic genius.
The ocean!!!! The bowls!!! The pier!!! Everything is so beautiful.
Yes indeed, it was a beautiful vacation, each place had something (or more than one thing) to recommend it! We love aquariums, I could sit and watch the rays and the octopuses all day!
I love the footage of David watching the sharks and rays!
Oh my gosh! The octopus footage is amazing.
❤ Beautiful nature and I like the music you used in the video.
Thank you! Gerard found the music on a site called Pixabay which offers royalty-free music, they have a wide variety of music you can search for and use.
I love it, it's beautiful, you look so happy there, it must have been a strong experience. Moonbow, I didn't know it was possible, really magical.
The whole experience there was amazing, and we are so glad we were lucky enough to be there at the time of the moonbow!
@@gicdjc ❤ ❤
Amazing video and powerful history of South Africa, it reminded me of my favorite book The book of JOY.
Yes, it was a powerful experience!
Amazing photos and videos! Thank you.
Glad you are enjoying them!
Wow, that was a big surprise! 🦛 It must be beautiful to see animals in their natural habitat, or even on a walk in the city.😃
It was so amazing to see how big the hippos are compared to the size of the cars!
It´s really far form New York 🙂 The perfect place to celebrate. In addition, Happy Birthday to Gerard ❤ The cheetah purred like my cat, that´s amazing. Great video!
Petting the cheetah was the highlight of the trip!!
Baby lions on the way!
Yes, hopefully some cute babies are on their way!
You guys saw some amazing birds!
There were all sorts of birds which were amazing to see but too fast for us to catch a decent picture. But sometimes we did, yes, the roller was amazingly iridescent!
Oh the roller is BEAUTIFUL!
The dung beetle is huge!!!
Yes it was much bigger than I expected!
Yes Madikwe is special. I agree the Leopard proved elusive but the number of Elephants & Rhinos more than makes up for it😊
Another great video! I always loved looking at the stars from the bush. How do you stop an elephant from charging? TAKE AWAY HIS CREDIT CARDS :-)
Yes, the stars were just amazing so far away from the lights of the town! 🐘🚫💳 😂😂
Great video and sublime experience 👌!! We been in SERENGETI, after climb on KILIMANJARO, was a brilliant experience ..done few videos about our journey..if you want to look at...thank you!! You got a subscriber!! Enjoy your journey...
Thanks!
so beautiful, thank you! 👍
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
The moonbows are some of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!
We thought so too! A new item for your bucket list!
New goal in life: see a moonbow.
We are SO GLAD that we went to Victoria Falls in general, and especially that we were there at the time of the Moonbow!
Oh the rainbows!!!!! 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Some people warn against going to the falls mid-day, but if we had listened we wouldn't have seen nearly as many rainbows!
I love that you included the native name. Is it the Zambian name or Zimbabwean name for the falls?
Gerard looked this up: "Mosi-oa-Tunya" has been embraced by both Zimbabwe and Zambia to differing degrees. There are many languages spoken in the area today and it is not known what the Falls were called by the locals thousands of years ago. "Mosi-oa-Tunya” is of Kololo origin, but may only date back to the early 1800s when they moved from the area of South Africa into what is today Botswana and Zambia.
The hippo yawn! The sunset on the river! I’m only a minute in and loving it already.
Love this! Victoria Falls is on my bucket list of places to see. Thanks for sharing your trip!
You're very welcome, so glad you're enjoying the videos!
The mesums you went to see look really amazing
You really covered a few great things to do I SA! I think once you leave, you will have had a good idea of Cape Town core
Another great video. IBM's offices were (are?) in Sandton. I had the pleasure of being there in 1994 during the election, while I was on assignment to London (and SA was part of my territory). The atmosphere then was electric.
WOW WOW WOW! That is amazing Rob! I was in Sandton two different times teaching my class, but nothing so significant happened while I was there 😂 This time we stayed in the Sandton area and ended up eating a few times at restaurants in the big mall there.
You guys always stay in the cutest places. This was a very informative video and, like Aunt Peggy said, the textiles were amazing.
We are pretty utilitarian when deciding where to stay, sadly "cute" isn't the top criterion lol. You will laugh, but aside from price and location which are very influential, we always look for rooms which have nightstands on BOTH sides of the bed. Why would any hotel assume that both guests don't need a place to keep their watch and/or phone next to the bed??
The purring cheetah knocked my socks off... Seems like Gerard was really into it, too :D
Petting the cheetah was the highlight of the trip (not that we didn't really enjoy the rest). We loved how loud his purring was!
I love these videos! I bet Aunt Judy liked looking at all the textiles! Beautiful
Glad you enjoyed them! Yes, we only included some of the textiles in the video, for mom we loaded all of our textile photos onto her computer so she can show her weaver friends.
@@gicdjc I'm sure she LOVED that.
I enjoyed the video! Going to show it to the kids.
Glad you enjoyed it, hope they do too!
Oh my goodness the sincerity in the lion’s eyes when he looked your way!
I sincerely would eat you but I'm too tired... 😉🤣
I love the photo of Gerard with the giraffe!!
They are so sweet!
Woaaahhh secretarybirds! Im sure the guide told you they stomp on snakes to kill them. So ruthless. The Guinea fowl and great.
The guide was very excited when he spotted the Secretary Birds, he said they are very rarely seen there!
The baby frogs and the massive hippos! That’s amazing!!!
I know, the contrast in size is crazy silly! I wonder how many millions of those frogs it would take to equal one hippo?
I was about to say what a great film, but then I saw the millipede..... EEK
😂😂😂 That's funny, I have to say that I was not so thrilled by the millipede either, but Gerard pointed out they are not harmful 🤷♂
fantastic films ! the hippos ! wow !
Thanks Lesley, the hippos strolling through the village was something we never expected to see!
Wonderful pictures of the wildlife!!
Thanks Rob!
My guinea pigs would like the guinea fowl, I think, Great video!!
On our second safari we were walking back to our cabin in the dark and heard loud noises coming from the trees which were pretty scary. It was the next day when a whole flock of them came walking through cackling and we realized the noise we heard the night before was the guinea fowl talking to each other LOL.
I LOVED both videos! It looks like it was a fantastic trip!❤
So glad you enjoyed them, it was a wonderful trip! We have a few more videos coming :-)
Looks like an amazing trip! My favorite was the purring cheetah!! So cute!!
I have to say the purring cheetah was the highlight of the trip!
Beautiful pictures. Brought back enjoyable memories of our 2011 trip.
Thanks! Glad to spur you to remember your trip 🙂
What a great video - and you were in one of my favorite cities 🙂. Thanks for sharing!! I look forward to the next installments.
Thanks Rob!
That ice tea looks SO refreshing and cool.
Yes, it was both tasty and fun to drink.
looks like another great trip! i'm going in October too!
So cool!
Eyyyy Much love from 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 Spring is a good time to see flowers
I'm glad you told off that bin chicken! We can do without them. Even the lovely lunch in Erskineville made it in there :)
The penguins had such cute voices!
We left out the video of our feeding them--it takes some practice. . .
