🔴What was the most dealbraking reason to avoid the Hyundai Santa Cruz?🤔 🏆6 Reasons You Should Wait For 2025 Ford Maverick WATCH HERE 👉th-cam.com/video/8NTLEw3Ngeo/w-d-xo.html
I don't think the buyers of this vehicle are not looking to buy a pickup truck. So all the negative talk about it not being a "pickup" truck is kind of pointless.
Exactly. The cargo bed for me would be trash for the dump and groceries...which I fit in the trunk of my car. I like Hyundai, like the Santa Cruz, but it would be a waste for me. My trunk is closed in, the Santa Cruz is not.
Exactly, these reviews are useless. If you want a cargo truck, buy a cargo truck. The Santa Cruz is basically an SUV with a bed instead. A reboot of the old El Camino.
Yeah: Me. I wanted a quick vehicle that feels sporty, but i wanted some ground clearance and a truck-bed. The maverick is ugly af, so my '24 Santa Cruz Night is perfect for me. Looks sick in Phantom Black with the black wheels. Sharp looking "truck"
A better title is 7 Reasons You MAY NOT Like the Santa Cruz. I don't think anyone buys a Santa Cruz for maximum towing, off-roading or cargo hauling. Someone who prioritizes mileage isn't looking at trucks.
That's exactly why I bought one. Just need occasional plywood, and some tall items. 5k towing for me is way enough. And I don't really do a lot of off roading. Perfect car!
I was going to say the same thing. I don't want a big cargo bed, and i don't want it to be high, 8 feet is more than enough, i wanted something between an SUV and a Truck, and this one is perfect!
I like the stock tonneau cover, was hoping the Honda style bed truck could hold 1 full size 18" spare tyre, but all in all, it's a nice midsize stock low rider truck, in my opinion
Bought this for my lifestyle in Florida. I like making trips to the beach and vacationing in Key West. Got the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL. Has all the storage I need and still has room. Lots of road comfort and tech. My avg city miles are about 22-25mpg and highway I was getting 30-36mpg. This truck is by no means meant to do any heavy hauling that’s clearly not the target audience so if you need a full size pickup then get a full size pickup. This isn’t for you. Truck bed has a lot of nice versatility for light hauling plus I like having the small cooler below the truck bed for drinks when I go to the beach.
I have Santa Cruz 2023 and I love everything about it. Because I didn’t buy it as a truck. I jst wanted a suv wit big truck and safety reason. It’s really great. Driving experience. Style and everything. I have driven 11k mine and nth wrong with it. I jst love this car. Only regret is not getting night edition. :,(
Would you have opted for the limited edition too? I’m thinking of getting one but idk about the trim levels and how much of a difference they will make to me in the future. Curious to your thoughts.
Fuel economy ??? I just drove my 2022 and got 349 miles per tank !!! Real world !!! I went from Illinois to Laredo Texas and back spent 340 $ on fuel ⛽️ !!!!
Lame…it’s like you would criticize a full sign pickup for being too ‘big’. I’m not using it off road and am fine with the bed size for what I need. Also rear visibility is great, big mirrors and a great backup camera.
I have a Santa Cruz and I found no reason given in this video to believe what the narrator says. I looked at the ford maverick and it was awful. It all depends on what your looking for. The Santa Cruz has met and exceeded my expectations. I need to stop watching negative videos presented by people pushing their own agenda
I like mine! Just hauled 14 bags of mulch last weekend with no problem. It does have a locking viscous clutch applying even power to all wheels. Not a transfer case, but a system that does work. Mine worked perfect in the snow this winter. Wow maverick 0.1 seconds quicker. Why would I but a Chevy or ford? So they can deny any future warranty claims? I got 10 years of worry free service. I’ve had Chevys and Fords, you will have to give me one to get me back in one of those!
My only regret was that, when I bought mine 3 years ago, the blue ones were marked up an extra $5-10,000 of suggested dealer price…..so I bought a white one instead. But I never stopped wanting a blue one….so, today……I bought a blue one, too!!
I have a 2024 Night Edition 2.5T. Plenty of power. Love it. I can lift it, if I want. I go hiking and camping. Not doing any major off-road stuff. I can switch between 2wd and AWD. I get 23-25 MPH in the city and 25-30 on the highway. I'm not looking to race it, so the 0-60 is just fine. Does what I need. I have already moved exercise equipment, table and chairs, desk and a loveseat. Gonna get some bags of cement soon and tow a vehicle to Arizona. The only thing, I will say is that you really should get a bull bar for the front. Putting one on today. A collision with a large dog can cause a lot of damage.
My wife has a 2023 Santa Cruz and she loves it. You are right on just about everything. That C pillar is massive, the bed is small, off roading will never happen with her driving it. It seems faster then what you state. It rides nice, and the adaptive cruise control works great even in stop and go traffic to a point.
Hyundai do not consider to be a "truck" ... it's listed as an SUV. It has some features of a compact truck but it's built on the Tucson SUV platform. Maverick is it's only competition right now. Maverick is built like a truck, albeit a smaller one.
This just in: subcompact truck alternative does not offer the exact things full sized pickups costing 2 to 3 times the price offer and therefore sucks. 🙄
Im.currenrly driving one. And so far it'd been pretty solid. Yes the truck bed being short sucks but I don't haul much. Only part I agree with is that the price tag is to muxh.
When I went to look for a Maverick last year the salesman thought it was funny that I thought I could actually get one. Not a good look Ford. When I went in to a Hyundai dealer yesterday.. within 10 minutes a nice salesman had one running at the front door for a test drive and was telling me to enjoy. That's how you do it.
Bro you tripping! I just got my 2024 Limited in black on black and it’s been awesome! I’ve had lifted trucks and it’s not practical to drive around EVERYDAY! I hated driving that big ass truck everyday! That’s why I went for this! It’s quick and I can still store stuff in the trunk! This is the perfect happy medium!
The risk of buying a mexico produced cheap truck that had 31 realls will have me drivng a santa cruz with a ten year waranty. I paid 29,5000 for four wheel dr and its a solid performer,DAU
2.5 turbo going 75 mph, with ac on 30 mpg on phoenix highways. can haul stuff and it is easy to get in and out of and still has some ground clearance. i am 68 bad hips.
2022 SANTA CRUZ👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 comfort /mileage ( 30 mpg)/ and a good little truck all around.....can tow my boat can stop at the store and load it up with garden soil...good all around everything and can still take my wife to a fine restaurant
This vehicle is awesome for me. I've gotten as high as 28.7 mpg on the highway and no lower than 22.5. So your data is inaccurate. I love everything about this vehicle so the haters can GFT😅
None of these things represent deal-breakers for me when I bought my 2023 Santa Cruz. I wanted a vehicle with open cargo space for hauling mostly garden stuff: mulch, soil, etc. I got that. I'm surprised that I sometimes get up to 29 mpg on the highway. I have AWD that gets me up my very steep snowy driveway in the winter. I can see very well using the rear camera and adjustable mirrors. The crash warning system is incredibly helpful at knowing when I've cleared the slow lane vehicle I'm passing. Terribly happy with this vehicle! I'm wondering who benefits most from this review. I'm thinking Chevy or Honda.
Santa Cruz is an excellent great looking truck. Yes it rides like a car, those that want off road capabilities get a dirt bike. I like the comfort of a suv inside and able to haul small sometimes dirty loads that would mess up the back of your suv. It’s absolutely the best looking and sleekest of all competitors and it’s priced fairly. I didn’t get it for a work truck. I couldn’t afford those monsters anyway.
Ok but you can't deny the Maverick looks like a tin can. The interior of the Maverick is rather ghastly. Santa Cruz will do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. The Bose speakers with subwoofer is outstanding.
I find it really annoying when people criticize a small truck for its lack of cargo space in the bed area -- particularly here, where the guy actually tries to equate it with the 8-foot beds from previous fullsize trucks. It's a SMALL truck, doofus. It's not supposed to be big -- that should be apparent by its classification as a SMALL truck. It's in the name, Einstein!
So you're trying to say "don't buy it" because it's not good at the things that were never a part of its design target. And we needed a video to tell us this? P.S. It's just the size and capacity I am looking for, so I bought one.
Non turbo has SC has enough power, im getting 35mpgs and it responds instantly when I floor it. If you have owned 2.0 na cars with 140hp this feels way more powerful, my 2.0 mazda 3 to reach 115 mph is a struggle but I can reach 135mph easily on my santa cruz. I also own a 300+ hp genesis coupe.
I was going to buy a Maverick even though I'm against turbos in economy cars but even the buttons are so cheap inside and you can't use lane keep without the cruise being on... that's not enough for 42k
I have a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Tremor. No issues at all. One recall for software update for directionals. I see no issues with anything mentioned. Maybe these were from initial year 2022. None of those issues were major just minor annoyances.
Wife and i need a new ride (we need a suv type to replace 2016 Caddy SRX. This is a cool option for me as i am a little tired of suv’s and wife doesnt want a truck. Think this is a nice compromise snd she loved the look and drive. (Might be the one). Turbo for sure
broski is paid paid by ford , hasn’t mentioned single mechanical problem but keeps yapping about design and speed as if we supposed to be buying formula one car
I love the Santa Cruz. Since I don't work in the fricken construction business, it doesn't matter that the bed is a little small. I can't afford it though. So I dream about it. Meanwhile I'll dream about the 2010 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin with V8 and navigation package and all bells and whistles in lightning blue. 💙😎👍👍 th-cam.com/video/yCfxfTrHlzk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=33inty63DDFtw5km But since I can't afford that too, I'm just dreaming. 🚙
The first two reasons you started with are stupid reasons. Not everyone gives a fuck about off roading and I like a compact truck with a small bed. I don’t want that bulky shit. List valid reasons. Not your personal preference

Santa Cruz XLT trim?? Did you mean XRT? Did you use ChatGPT to write this?
Did they fix the transmission issue?
I don't think the buyers of this vehicle are not looking to buy a pickup truck. So all the negative talk about it not being a "pickup" truck is kind of pointless.
The 2025 Santa Cruz is exactly what I'm looking for. My offroading days are over and I'll be trading in my 4Runner.
Agreed.
Exactly. The cargo bed for me would be trash for the dump and groceries...which I fit in the trunk of my car. I like Hyundai, like the Santa Cruz, but it would be a waste for me. My trunk is closed in, the Santa Cruz is not.

How about that, all the reasons why I wanted the vehicle.
Much better. The only reason I don't have a Santa Cruz is the lack of money. Otherwise I'd have this. After a Giulia Quadrifoglio and a 2020 NSX.
I was going to say the same thing. I don't want a big cargo bed, and i don't want it to be high, 8 feet is more than enough, i wanted something between an SUV and a Truck, and this one is perfect!
This review is extremely one sided. I own one. It kicks ass. 2.5 non turbo. Sel. It does exactly what I want.
I like the stock tonneau cover, was hoping the Honda style bed truck could hold 1 full size 18" spare tyre, but all in all, it's a nice midsize stock low rider truck, in my opinion

Although the Santa Cruz is not an SUV, nor a serious truck. It's a SAV, (Sport Adventure Vehicle).
Would you have opted for the limited edition too? I’m thinking of getting one but idk about the trim levels and how much of a difference they will make to me in the future. Curious to your thoughts.
How’s the rear visibility ? I’m considering the night edition.
You lost credit when you saod we could buy a jeep
TRUE LOL
Fuel economy ???
I just drove my 2022 and got 349 miles per tank !!! Real world !!!
I went from Illinois to Laredo Texas and back spent 340 $ on fuel ⛽️ !!!!
I love my Santa Cruz. Got the xrt 2024. I love all the great things about it
I waiting on 2025, inside is different then other models
Just waiting for the 2025 edition.

We always knew ford of anything is trash
I have a Santa Cruz and you don’t know what you are talking about. It tows very well and is anything but sluggish. The 2.5 turbo is fast !!
I’m driving one now as a loaner and it’s a rock ship love this truck I don’t want to give it back.

I have had mine for 3 years. My only regret is not buying the black night edition.
I got the 23 night in phantom black and I love it. Black does show more swirls though.
@@Spookii11 I may have to trade mine in for black. I like the matching black wheels.
I have a 23 Night in Hampton Grey. Looks great and drives nice. 12k miles with no problems.
My only regret was that, when I bought mine 3 years ago, the blue ones were marked up an extra $5-10,000 of suggested dealer price…..so I bought a white one instead. But I never stopped wanting a blue one….so, today……I bought a blue one, too!!

Good little suv truck...😊
There you go. 👍👍😎
Thats my dream car
I like compact and am not buying bcs i need a truck. I am buying bcs its an SUV that looms like a truck

The critique is it's not a big pickup truck. It's literally why we bought it
I don't think anyone buys a Santa Cruz for work purposes.
WHAT A LAME POINTLESS VIDEO
comparing apples to oranges .
For an economical small vehicle to drive around town and toss your groceries and packages in the bed the Santa Cruz is super ✌️😎
Hyundai do not consider to be a "truck" ... it's listed as an SUV. It has some features of a compact truck but it's built on the Tucson SUV platform. Maverick is it's only competition right now. Maverick is built like a truck, albeit a smaller one.
You completely forgot the advantage of the Hyundai warranty. Not to mention Santa Cruz is built in the USA while Maverick in Mexico.
This just in: subcompact truck alternative does not offer the exact things full sized pickups costing 2 to 3 times the price offer and therefore sucks. 🙄

The aesthetics of the Maverick does not compare to the Santa Cruz at all where the Santa Cruz is in a class of its own.
All reasons got ignored. This vehicle is about as common as a Toyota corolla. I plan on buying it next year.
Not really that common. It's only been out a couple years.
Hey y’all! How’s the rear visibility? Dude in the video mentioned it sucks. I’m considering buying the night edition!

Reasons you should pay attention to this video: if you are too stupid to understand who the vehicle is targeted to and what it is and isn't.
What is this guys agenda? If he does not like it do not by it.
Too late I already own a '24 Night and it's badass
How’s the rear visibility? I’m considering buying the night edition!
I don't off-road, don't use much bed space, don't tow anything and I wouldn't be caught dead in that hideous Ford.
I love my 2023 SEL w activity package. Perfect for camping and hauling my fishing boat.
Had my turbo for over 2 1/2 years. More than happy. Much better ride than any of the rivals.
My knife doesn't function as a fork. 1 star.
So you're trying to say "don't buy it" because it's not good at the things that were never a part of its design target. And we needed a video to tell us this?

The first two reasons you started with are stupid reasons. Not everyone gives a fuck about off roading and I like a compact truck with a small bed. I don’t want that bulky shit. List valid reasons. Not your personal preference
I would have bought one if they made it like the truck they showed at the 2015 Detroit auto show. Now it's just a hatchless SUV.
The Main Problems with Santa Cruz
1: Low Fuel Economy
2: Significant Unreliable Double Clutch Transmission STILL overheats, lurches and fail.
3: No Brake Controller
4: Underpowered especially when towing to its max 5000 lb tow rating.
5: Price, more affordable options ie Ford Maverick
Towing at it's max and the trans overheats?......shocking...... :)
Let’s list the things the vehicle is NOT designed to do and call it a negative
You’re so wrong . Drive off road your trespassing. I tow a 20’ ranger bass boat. The ride is better than everything eles. Just don’t buy the non turbo. Just lacks power.
I am on my second . Stop looking at everybody’s eles you tube videos and drive one over 2 years .
When you can’t even get the new trim level correct - it’s XRT…not XLT, you kind of lose all credibility.
5:43 this is wrong I have consistently hit under 8 seconds for 0 to 60 with an SEL using sport mode.
Jeeps ! Junk
Amen
Machine voices are getting better. This one sounds good except for the odd words it mispronounces.
People buy it because it's small. Obviously, not buying "a Truck."
Well I think is not posible be equal in room as a Honda Civic! Not posible!!
Hey let's compare a utility SUV to a vehicle designed for towing and hauling pay loads!
Dude Ford is a 🦨💨
its funny I just watch 2 videos, inviting us why we should buy. and now why should not. LOL
XRT, not XLT
This guy must be a Ford dealer.....wouldn't own a Ford if it was given to me.
Also I see online most obtaining 30 plus mpg
I get in mine 30 to 33.4 mpg depending on how i drive it
Its A fast truck you are a ford rust mexico agent, my santa cruz 2.5 seventy MPH right now ,Ford wil not last and is cheeply made junk..
I like it...
who goes off road...not enuff clearance!
The25k Maverick look like a white plumbing mini truck . Is a comercial with ugly rims
Every reason I'm buying one!🤣
people buy it for cool factors...😄 get it....
Ill buy this just to piss you off
Ford materials for build are pure cheap trash
You missed the most important reason to nor buy any Hyundai. They make shit engines. A Totota or a Honda is just broken in when a Hyundai is just plain broken.
You must don't take care of your vehicle. No matter what you get. It can brake down. If you don't take care of it. Point blank
110K+ miles on my 14 year old Hyundai engine. Never a break down, never a repair needed. Yep real shit.
kia and hyundai engines with turbo last 50k miles maybe, then blow up.
Transmission problems on these models.
If this is true, then you will get a a new engine with the 10 year/ 100,000 mile warranty. Problem solved.
