🏆Would you consider the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz over Ford Maverick?🤔 🔴2024 Ford Maverick - Biggest Pros and Cons WATCH HERE 👉th-cam.com/video/LFDiqJiRvos/w-d-xo.html
Already did, a n SEL Premium. Actually order a Maverick a week after the initial release , waited months and decided to get my down payment back after exploring a Santa Cruz. The Ford is built to a price point , and it shows.
I have a 2024 Limited. I didn’t buy it for “truck” work. I have a GMC for that purpose. The Cruz is pretty damn handy . My wife and I both love it. Great gas mileage, very comfortable and just fun to drive.
I just bought my.wife a brand new 24 Sanat Cruz Night.. It's her cruck..car/truck. At first I didn't like it. I wouldn't even go look at one. Well we finally went and test drove one. I instantly changed my mind! This little cruck is simply all around perfect. Ride quality, handling, mpg and power!! Win! Time will tell how reliable is will be, I did get every warranty you can get just to be safe!
Santa Cruz isn't marketed as a truck, it's a sport adventure vehicle and it's pretty awesome to drive not to mention it's loaded with features and standard options
Hyundai's web page has the Santa Cruz listed as a Crossover Utility Truck -- CUT. And the "cons" are grossly exaggerated in each case, as the bed is only 3" shorter than the Maverick's, the rear-seat leg room lets a 6' passenger ride COMFORTABLY behind a 6' driver with leg room to spare and the prices based on low, mid to high-end trims are almost identical between the two vehicles... Yes, the Ranger Lariat is also pricing in the $40K - $45K range. The two are very comparable but the Santa Cruz is significantly more comfortable.
As I wrote in response to another post , correct - the Ford's is only 2 inches longer , quite negligible. It's as if he was scrounging for a "con". Full disclosure , own a 2022 SEL Premium and quite happy with it.
I've owned one (SC Limited) since August of 2021... We really like it. only a few "niggles" such as no rear center arm rest and limited bed space (but you know about that already)
In Canada, Hyundai only offers the Santa Cruz with the 2.5 Turbo and AWD. Our base model (equivalent to the SEL) comes in at about 50k CAD. the Ridgeline and Maverick with comparable equipment came in at 65k for the honda and 49k for the ford . I've had mine for a year now, only problem with the bed size is actually the standard tonneau cover, the container for the roll top takes up 1.5ft of the 4ft bed... if the container was smaller it would be perfect. the back seat is next to useless, especially with me being 6'6", but it is one of the few vehicles I tried that actually has a comfortable drivers position. I found it more comfortable, quieter, and better on fuel than all the competitors: ridgeline, maverick, and even the tacoma, colorado/canyon, ranger, and frontier. I also needed the 5000lbs towing, and it tows my 19ft camper extremely well. Overall very pleased with it.
I have a 2024 SEL with activity package it's FWD and is averaging almost 30 mpg . This vehicle is great and I really love it. Price was 30,700.00 after a 2,500 rebate. Would definitely buy it again.
I hauled 15 10'' 2x4, 5 10' 1x5, 5 lattice in the bed of this thing, all treated lumber. Yes, it stuck out, but I still got it to the house. As for the "price tag" issue... between this and the maverick, good luck as if you want anything but stock and bare bones, you heading over 40k starting.. I really wanted a Honda Ridgeline. base model, 39k.. put things on it, taxes and tags..
Yeah I don't get his harping in the bed length as the Ford's is only 2 inches longer-LOL. I own a late 2022 SEL Premium, carried ALL kinds of stuff from sheet rock and lumber to a 1/2 ton of wood pellets. It's a keeper.
I really would have preferred to have the non-turbo non-DCT for the Limited as an option - I've had no issues with the 2.5t DCT and had it since Aug of 2021....
HYUNDAI SANTA CRUZ BACK SEATS ARE JUMP SEATS. THIS IS NOT A FULL SIZED SPORT VEHICLE . I BOUGHT A 2023 SEL FOR 30,000 TRY TO BUY A FORD MAVERICK FOR LESS AND WAIT A YEAR. FREE FIVE YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY PLUS TEN YEAR 10000 MILE ENGINE TRANSMISSION COVERAGE FOR TEN YEARS. NO CONTEST HYUNDAI WINS MPG REAL WORLD CITY 26,HWY 34.TRY IT YOU WILL BUY IT, FROM HAPPY OWNER 40000 MILES.
Just open the tailgate to carry lumber. A 4X8 sheet of plywood will fit when the tailgate is lowered in the next position. It's not a construction truck but for DIY'ers.
Most of this video is inaccurate. You can haul a full sheet of plywood with the tailgate down. It is exactly the same as the Ford Maverick but it actually drives better than the Ford Maverick. Honda sucks for comfort. The Santa Cruz can tow more then the Ford Maverick.
Finally someone who seems to get it. The Santa Cruz is a better vehicle overall. Die hard ford boys despite the numbers think maverick is better. The only pro the maverick has is its hybrid engine, slightly better pricing, and a bed that is a hair bigger.
@@richardkusimenkah Quite true, and full disclosure a happy Santa Cruz owner. Originally order a Maverick a week after its release in June of 2021, waited months - nothing. Decided to check out a Santa Cruz, glad I did , got my deposit back from Ford, and the rest as they say is history. The Ford is cheaper in many respects as it's built to a price point , i.e. - cheaper material and overall presentation (looking at that interior).
@@richardkusimenkahthis diehard Ford fan loves the Santa Cruz! I think it’s a better “truck” than the Maverick. I would get the XRT trim for a little more “off-road” capability.

You didnt mention the fact that the transmission is crap.
Santa Cruz is better looking and has a better ride than the Maverick. This Ford guy would get an XRT Santa Cruz over a Maverick for sure!
Under 40k not overpriced nowadays love mine

At 1:31 you say “the large screen makes it look much more upmarket than the SANTA CRUZ is”. Probably want to correct that!
There is only a tiny difference between the Santa Cruz bed and the Maverick bed. This "con" was overstated.

Agree with the pros and cons. But to us 70 years old with little garden works, the comfortable suv ride of Hyundai won us over
I'm buying a Santa Cruz limited
I have been thinking about it but the back seats have no room.
Got a 2022 SEL Premium, happy as a pig in poop with it.
Ive got a 24 SEL premium and if im honest i find myself using it for truck work more than my 2019 ram. I absolutely love it

7 months from your post. We are also buying a limited. Both loved the drive. Happy hubby as wife wants a suv but loved this. I welcome the change!

owned nothing but DUALLIES for 20 yrs, To slim down to this wasn't hard at all, 2022 Limited, from a 2015 Laramie Limited.. love those TURBO'S

I came OUT of a "Mid-sized pickup" to get into the Santa Cruz. And dollar for dollar, it's BETTER than the Maverick.

Bought a fully loaded limited edition traded it in less than a year before the engine exploded
Not verry much room in the back seat for passengers
High-un-die? really
ilovemine
santa cruze is Tucson with open trunk and over price. i won't believe the engine will keep long.
For gods sake, it is not "hi un die".
