Oh my goodness!!! You’re baby isn’t a baby anymore 🥹🥹🥹 how sweet!!! Can’t wait to see more betta breeding projects in the future, this looks amazing! 🥰
You've inspired me to reset my rack system! The way I currently have things set up is a disaster of chaos level proportions! No cord management and airline hoses galore 😢. I am shamed 😔 but I have new motivation! It is going to be a busy weekend for me
I'd totes do all pink in my fish room after seeing this! Very cool, and I don't even know how you....even.. I mean, dang, you're the right kind of crazy! Great stuff!!!
Nice Job! The automation is gong to pay dividends in regards to your time, very fancy. Of course, sponges are already the best filters for fry, but being able to dial things in further with adjustable air-stones and values is pretty sweet. If it was me, I might have painted the air-pumps housing "Hello Kitty" pink & red, paint on some whiskers, add paper ears, etc. That way when it was "on" it would be like it was "purring". I am also a crazy person, so...Anyways glad to see you are knocking out the big jobs, can't wait to see what you end up spawning in these tanks.
I Love your Videos! I am working on a project I have a few years of breeding betas and feeding live food from my own outdoor pond of live food supply and after trial and error maybe this year I will finally have my Large 16 ft x 10 beta pond complete I am forming another 10ft to add of specific design edging to simulate the betas natural habit with an Indian almond tree to give shade and drop leaves. It is a mud bottom hard to dig manually but at least it will have every inch with Betas in mind. I am in So Cal. I have about 40 count Beta sorority to start 16x20 total with bog filter and solar accessories. It is my experiment. about 4tt maybe deeper I am figuring out what will work it's my second summer working out the kinks. I have been very inspired by your videos! Thank you for your great content!
Taylor if you need to redirect the flow from those sponges use a 1/2" 90 degree pvc elbow on top of the lift tubes (sometimes I'll paint mine black) will help circulation in the tanks. Can't wait to see some api api fry one of these days. The rack is really coming along- can't wait to start building on my new one.
Your projects really are inspiring to me as someone who gives up halfway through the first step of most of mine. I'm also sure I've watched the lids video before but it is timely as I wanted to do this for my mom's new tank.
I'm soooo happy that your getting your breeding rack ready to go. I'm ready for the Api Api Betta fish. I've been waiting ever so patiently for my chance at getting a pair or trio of them. Can't remember which you said. I think it's a pair. I'm ready Taylor.💃
It looks Awesome! You must be thrilled to finally get started again. Inspired by you I got my first betta a few weeks ago and I finally get the hype around these little critters. He's so personal and pretty, he's learned a few tricks and is totally wiggling about in his 30 gallon tank.
Great job! I'm curious what your plan will be with balancing auto water changes and keeping a lower ph / high tannin breeding environment for bettas, my auto water change system does 10% daily and i keep high ph fish so i don't have to battle it. Will you add new leaves and cones weekly? do smaller slower water changes?
Hi Greg! I figured that I’ll have to treat the spawning pairs/eggs/new fry stage with extra care and I can turn off the water change valves. I have hard, alkaline water too and for spawning fish I have to cut it with RO by half or 2/3 or my eggs won’t develop. Once the fry are a few weeks old though, I can turn the valves so it delicately dribbles in tiny amount during water change time, slowly acclimating the fry to harder water. Hey, can you shout me an email to simplybettafish@gmail.com? I thought of you the other day for an unrelated dilemma I have and want to bounce an idea off of you to see if you have a solution!
cool system, i'm starting to wonder what the minnimum amount of tanks should be for a system like this, ( i have 5 aquascaped tanks on a similair rack all different size's with individual HOB filters).
Hmm! There's no minimum, really. If you only have a handful of tanks, a linear piston air pump like this could still be used but it would be recommended to have a few extra air valves on all the way open to bleed some pressure out of the loop. A rep told me that once, too much back pressure with not enough outlets (or outlets that were too restricted) could reduce the life of the pump. So it's totally an option and could allow for future expanding!
Just love your videos. Must be hard to balance your family and your fish rooms. Are you still working, too? Way back when, you mentioned doing character voice parts. 🤔🍄
Hi there! So I have almost everything for this project myself and I'm kind of stuck at connecting the pvc to the air pump. I see in your video a clear looking pipe that mine didn't come with. Where might I find that?
That’s clear hose! I believe 3/4” clear vinyl hose or reinforced hose, but I would double check depending on what pump you’re using. I clamp it (using those metal hose clamp things) onto the pump, then the other end is attached to a PVC hose barb piece. That hose barb piece is where the hard PVC loop begins. Send an email to simplybettafish@gmail.com if you want an up-close pic!

Have been missing you. Love your videos but I totally understand mom life. The fact that you get any of this done is a miracle.
omg thank you for acknowledging the struggle
We are getting so close to seeing all the cute little betta fish swimming in these tanks

woah woah WOAH. That's a great idea :P
Hands down, Taylor has the cutest fish room!❤ Love the pink!😊
Your son is so adorable! Thank you for a great video!
This has got to be one of your most inspiring projects, hands free water changes? Only one outlet for all those filters? It’s ticking all my boxes 😂
Lol!! Thank you, I hope it can inspire other people's projects :)
fantastic set up Taylor! I can't wait to see the fish in there :)
I'm going to be doing this soon, so it's helpful to see the step-by-step process!
Great!
I got so excited when I saw you had a new video out! This content is really helpful for me right now, too. Thank you!
That's great! I'm glad it could come in handy :) Thank you
So awesome. I might make some glass lids. You continue to inspire. Hope to see you again in Dallas

Best looking fishroom! Love the attention to details!
Aww shucks
Awesome video!
Great job on your air system Taylor! Central air systems are a game changer in a multi tank fishroom. It looks fantastic!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!
So organized and pretty. Thanks for sharing.
I'm happy to see how this is coming along.
Appreciate it!

I really like your set up with every little detail. Can't wait to see life in the aquariums! How are the api api doing?
what size pvc do you use? trying to do something very similar.
Super helpful, Taylor. Thanks! 🙂
Love your fish room! What kind of connector do you use between the tube going from the air pump to the PVC?
Wohoooo another big task done!
Amazing Job Taylor. Love It. 👍👍👍👍

Hi Taylor I have some questions for ya that I believe you can help me out with starting a betta sorority?
I’ve been so excited to see this done!!! It’s incredible! And so empowering to watch you do this all yourself!
Aww I appreciate that
All my PVC is painted with Copper paint. All my stuff is steampunk 😏
That sounds really cool haha
I thought you were going to paint the pvc pink to match the rack. Looks great
I did that with the water lines! I was originally going to have it tacked onto the wall, hence why I had the white spraypaint on hand :P

How often or how long should I wait to breed my bettas again?
Fantastic.... great info as always.
Thank you ;)
Exciting and awesome!!!
Are those 29 gallons at the bottom?
Great Job!!
This was awesome

Do you have any yellow colored Bettas?
Wow. I just found a yellow Rosetail at Petco yesterday. He's gorgeous. Good luck on your search.
