Marv Albert, way before he would begin doing play by play for the NBA. These definitely had to be the good ole days watching the NFL. I bet whenever he, Dick Enberg & Merlin Olsen, Verne Lundquist & Terry Bradshaw, or Madden & Summerall doing the play by play that had to be America's Game of the Week at that time.

It was the opening TD pass to Daryl Turner on a fly pattern for 80 yards that let Largent get open underneath for all those passes the rest of the game. That opening bomb he caught in stride was the only pass he would catch that day but he did his job. That kept the safeties honest for the rest of the game as DT was seldom left without a safety over the top. People never really appreciated the value of having pure speed on the outside like that until he showed up.
DT is one of my favorite "forgotten stars" because of his impact was profound in his very short 4yr career. He only really shined his first two years catching about 35 passes for a 20y average in each and leading the NFL with 13 TD receptions in his second season the injuries slowed him down and he was out after his 4th season. Him and Krieg seemed unbeatable on those timing pass routes to the corners of the endzone where DT would outjump every DB he was up against and Krieg could loft those balls so high and soft that they almost always dropped down where only DT could get to them.

Me too. Albeit on a weeks delay. In the UK in the 80's highlights of the games were shown the next week. I recorded it and eventually it wore out after so many views! 😔

This was a strange season for the Broncos. They lost a homefield game to Seattle in a close game even with Steve Largents incredible game. The final score was Seattle 27 to 24. However, The Broncos slaughtered the Seahawks in Seattle 31 to 14. And in doing so won the AFC WEST Division Title 13-3 to Seattle's 12-4. I've been a Broncomaniac season ticket holder since 1977. I often went to games outside Denver and this was one of them. 😊
