On the water (sea pier) I found the centrifugal brakes (3 seemed best) meant the reel tension could be slackened off, but with a light lure the magnetic brakes needed to be nearly full on. Casting distance not huge but didn't need to be. Once set up very consistent and did not need readjustment.
Thank-you. Your video is the first one that explained what that switch was at the bottom. I probably will not be going "inside" but, at least I know what that switch is for now. Thanks again.
This is a good reel I bought it for 150 I think maybe 180 it came with a johnny Morris carbonlite 2.0 rod I love it was my my 1st baitcaster combo just bought a 2nd
I think if you ordered hi speed bearings from Japan not ceramic. You will get a better results. I have use them on Curado DC. Boca Bearings is useless.
Oh no doubt, anything would be better than stock. Itd just start getting pretty expensive to swap all of my bearings out though haha. I actually did just get some boca orange seals for my steez and I'm pretty impressed so far
@@BassFishingAddictions I have Boca Bearings orange seal don't like it. Paid 35$ for two bearings install them don't like it. Purchased on eBay from Japan Hi speed metal bearings and get better result.I have a lot of reels but I only install hi speed bearings on expensive reels.
If you want something more versatile then get the sx. The beast has a deeper spool and weighs more so its targeted at bigger game. For $120 you can't really go wrong with either but it more so depends on the application.
@@BassFishingAddictions I’m going to be throwing them for bass and stripers in the aqueducts. Medium size swimbait, Shallow/deep diver, cranks, a rigs, rattle traps, etc. Most of the stripers here are 3-15lb. Was thinking about pairing it with the dobyns 795 swimbait rod.

@@jamesdean6744 Definitely go with the beast then, it'd be better suited for that style of fishing
