    Made in Korea and Japan reels are some my favorite for overall quality control.

    Appears to be /very/ like the Japan market Roxani 7, cheaper but with some added bearings. Most of the extra bearings are in the gearbox where they're a bit superfluous but the number count attracts customers. The important bearings are on the spool, the one-way roller, and the handle shaft. The Zata is carbon frame, the Roxani is Durametal aluminium alloy.

      Do you think this reel is worth $127??? Can I get something better for this price? That’s what I paid last night for this reel?

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blackhawk556. Depends what you want, the Roxani is a range of Japan market reels with solid metal chassis albeit less bearings. I have the Roxani BF8 which can cast light and the Revo4 SX which can cast further, and like the Zata is dual brake. I have gone through several cheap reels but for example my ancient 6500CS Mag is still in very good order.

    You could put it on a cork rod. I recommend the st Croix mojo bass or st croix bass x

      The zata rod thats made for this caster is impressive as well. I held the combo in hand and I'm almost convinced to go ahead and pick it up.

      Yeah they definitely look like some good rods. Their blackout rods just based on the blank is ridiculous sensitive. Would definitely love to get some of those but they're so expensive

    I have the same reel (left hand version) and it’s starting to feel a little off . Whenever I reel it in , it feels/sounds like something is grinding . Don’t know what it is . Any idea ?

    Its similar to roxani powershooter I own, great reel.. only 1 things to complain is that I almost lost the sideplate once because I accidentally push the lock with my glove..

    • @BassFishingAddictions
      @BassFishingAddictions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aw that sucks, it's definitely the only downside of having the lever versus say the screw down side plate daiwa uses

    You can buy the combo and get the reel with the rod that has same color paint job as the reel. Looks sick! Reminds me of something from the mobile game War Robots. 😂

    • @BassFishingAddictions
      @BassFishingAddictions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol I didnt even know there was a rod that went with this reel when I got it🤷‍♂️ And I agree, I always see those phone app war games ads all over and the paintjob reminds me of them 😂

    Pick you up the Abu Garcia Zata rod. It will pair perfectly with the reel.

      I guess I shouldve looked online for the rod when I ordered the reel, honestly did not know they made a rod for it as well until a few people commented it on my videos haha

      Thanks for watching man! And oof that's a little too big for my liking. Tops I'm comfortable with using is a 7'4. I had a 7'6 at one point put it felt too big and blocky for me

      @@guywithagoprofishingshow3011 Its all good 13 fishing just came out with an all black rod, I got a medium action to pair with this reel and I'm going to use it for senkos/soft plastics. Nothing matches better than straight black lol

      @@guywithagoprofishingshow3011 I've definitely thought of making my own plenty of times but I honestly dont have the time too haha, and my bank account probably wouldnt like how picky and creative I could get 😂

    Is the reel seat metal ?

    • @BassFishingAddictions

    3:44 yes that’s real carbon fiber 😂🕺🏽it’s so fucking clean I love this reel it’s my favorite out of all my baitcasters and btw can you lmk which cleaner and lubricant you use for your reels and how often you clean them ?

    • @BassFishingAddictions
      @BassFishingAddictions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I would say it is my favorite as well. I know a lot of people hate on quantum hot sauce oil and grease but that is what I use. I have an insane amount of reels.. (currently 9 baitcasters sit on my shelf for display to give you a reference lol) and I get people who send me their reels as well. Ive tried a few different brands of oil and grease and quantum without a doubt beats them. I try to do it once a year at the end of the season.

    $170 for a plastic/graphite frame?

    • @BassFishingAddictions
      @BassFishingAddictions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much, but its honestly one of my favorite reels so far. Would definitely buy it again

    • @JuvoII
      @JuvoII 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ABU is actually market leading here, their Resin/Graphite is harder and lighter than the ci4+ of Shimano and the Zaion of Daiwa. You get Brass gears and 10 good ballbearings and a drag that's a good deal stronger than the competition.

    • @BassFishingAddictions
      @BassFishingAddictions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JuvoII Well said, definitely the more technical version of my answer haha. And after owning just about every brand including two steez and a Metanium, the bearings in Abu are something else. I've had the zata for a few months now and the bearings are still flawless. Regardless of what these big companies start making reels out of in the future we can always presume its better than the previous generations and so far its been true

    • @andrescruz9448
      @andrescruz9448 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A plastic frame is a plastic frame and on a $150+ reel? For only $100 you get an aluminum frame from daiwa, shimano and lew's to name a few. And the marketing with 20lb drag doesn't make sense because it's on a plastic frame.... Think you're drinking the Abu kool-aid.

    • @JuvoII
      @JuvoII 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrescruz9448 If you're unaware the premium lineup in spinners shimano and Daiwa are all what you call "plastic". The Boeing Dreamliner and the Airbus A350 are plastic planes!

    They're made in Malaysia or North Korea. They're not Swedish and they're not Swedish engineered either. They're Doyo. Often times (most of the time) Doyo has an equivalent reel for sale directly from their factory. Abu Garcia simply changes the cosmetics, slaps their branding on it and calls it something different. Sorry to shit on all of you Abu fanboys but it's true!

    • @craigstuckey319
      @craigstuckey319 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the Doyo equivalent reels are usually less than a third of the cost. You're literally paying for branding.
