That was done and released 1969. The mid 60's to the mid 70's was the best era of music in America. Even then, it was an amazing harmonic release in the midst of the burgeoning Rock era.

Home Free is by far the premiere A cappella group. They have raised the bar for A cappella groups to an almost unreachable level with this beautiful cover. It is definitely one of my favorites. I do believe it is time for you to listen and react to their cover of Mayday by Cam.
As someone who has worked in the music industry at times, I can vouch for that. Very few good engineers out there. However, I would say that Home Free is the kind of group that makes their job easy lol.

For some context to the harmonies, you should listen to some original Crosby Stills Nash (and Young) -- "Teach Your Children Well", "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", "Marrakesh Express", "Our House"... Their harmonies are completely distinctive.
The only thing that could have added to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young is the addition of Tim's bass. Having grown up on CSN&Y my mind immediately jumped to "Teach Your Children Well" as soon as this song started. Home Free really should go down in history as a companion group to CSN&Y.

@@SchnellJordan I don't know his name, but the guy that sang at first, the one you went back and listened to again, also sings bass. If you listen to the bass parts again, you will hear that there is more than just Tim's voice, the other guy is harmonizing with him in the bass line.
CSN was known for their harmonies. You must listen to original. CSN is my all time favorite. Even though I'm a devout PTX fan, Home Free does this song justice. Bravo
I’m really showing my age when I comment that I wish reactors would choose the original artists to react to first before picking up all these covers, but maybe if the cover makes a big enough impression, they will go back & listen to the originals in time. Imo, it’s so important to see where a song started in order to understand what the cover artists did with it. 🤷♀️

This is absolutely one of the best uses of human harmonies ever....Chance who started with the opening solo, was the director & was the producer of this video, it was his vision. Check out their original Dive Bar Saints, it'll give you a little bit of their country feel, but it's a very catchy tune.

They make beautiful music together. They are always just doing it for fun! If it weren't for paying travel expenses, having to eat, etc. they probably wouldn't even charge to do a concert. I wish I was in Rio De Janeiro as it was in the 60s!
Home Free has the ability to become a cathedral pipe organ while maintaining pure vocals throughout their songs. You could SWEAR that they have instrumental accompaniment.
While I love Home Free and this version, I was fortunate enough to hear CSN play it live in a small venue many years ago. They turned off the lights before beginning, and you could hear a pin drop between the notes. It was truly a religious experience that you can't get from a 52 year old recording - but you should still give it a listen.

Don’t miss the perfection of written poetry in these verses. A common technique is to use the same vowel at the start of each phrase. Note the repeat of the H ,L, W, C, etc. through the different lyrics. This is beautifully written in all respects. Can’t find a better poem put to melody and harmony. Love CSN!
It’s not a song from the 90’s. Crosby, Still, & Nash wrote & sung this song in the late 1960’s. Crosby, Still, & Nash had unique beautiful harmonies in the original release. Home Free has played tribute to Crosby, Still, & Nash harmonies & taken to another level.

Schnell, what so many miss is Adam Ruff (beat boxer) has a beautiful tenor voice and makes a fifth voice to this group. How great thou art is another example of his voice. I just love their sound❤️

I have asked in the past for you to react to Gephil Flores either "Somewhere in Time" From the Movie Somewhere in Time or "Never Enough" from the Movie The Greatest Showman & I think she sings that how it should have been sung. She has a voice of a angel & even David Foster says she should be known around the world. Both songs are on her youtube channel
