Balappa Maharaj was originally from a wealthy family in the state of Karnataka. He renounced the worldly life for meeting Guru and spiritual knowledge. After that, he visited Gangapur and other pilgrimage sites and performed many rituals to find Guru. At that time he received an order to go to Akkalkot according to a vision.
Accordingly, Balappa Maharaj came to Akkalkot and got absorbed in Swami Bhakti. Later that Swami bestowed upon him the legacy of his austerities and spiritual powers. In which Swamini gave her a ring engraved with Swami Samarth's name and Tulsi Mala along with Chinmay Paduka and ordered to carry on the legacy of her guru disciple.
