Why is Balappa Maharaj important?
He gave the name Samarth to his Guru.

After we visited the Vatavruksha Mandir, We immediately proceeded to the Balappa maharaj math also known as Guru Mandir to attend the Aarti at 8pm.
Its a really nice well articulated & a visual treat.
As i entered I observed weird white boxes every where. KD Gaikwad kaka was there behind me explained we should not step inside them. The temple management claims Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj foot prints are legible on them. I did notice on 1 of the shahbadi or Kadapa tiles, there was a mariegold flower kept in that white border box but rest left me scratching my head to find the imprints.
People jumped around to miss stepping on them.
It resembled the 1979 film Mr. Natwarlal. Vikram Singh (Amjed khan) activates landmines under the floor inside the cave and Amitabh Bachchan jumps following his each footstep to deactivate the bombs. Wrong step and boom LOL
Mrs. Neelam Khanapurkar showed the museum of very old idols, usually its locked.
The Shej aarti here is melodious. Strict instructions are there not to clap during the recitation of prayers. The poojari gave an angry bird stare to a fellow sitting near me, not me.
Its quite elaborate. The bed is cleaned up, bedsheets & pillows are tidyed up, photos are wiped clean, layed down to rest on the bed. The poojari then serves hookah to the Swami photo singing shej aarti. Then the photo is covered with bedsheet, The bed is covered further in mosquito net.
All as if Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj is actually sleeping. Its an incredible spectacle to watch which happens only at 8pm.
The temple has a shop which sells Agnihotra material, incense sticks and books.
In my house Agnihotra is practiced daily for last 3 decades since I went to Shri Gajanan Maharaj Ashram, Shivpuri, Akkalkot way back some time around 1985.
After the aarti, take darshan & proceed to back of this temple where dinner is served.
Basic food. Wet Cabbage subzi, Chappati, plain rice and watery red spicy dal.
Most of the people in our Akkalkot Trip complained the food here was too spicy for their palate, which I agree.
So after the aarti instead of MahaPrasad here, best head back to the Vatavruksha temple and have some light snacks in the eateries of the area.
Didn't notice any decent restaurant around the temple. Reason is there is a Mahaprasad at Vataruksha temple, Rajerai math and many places which you miss if you visit this Guru Mandir aarti. Devotees prefer mahaprasad over any restaurant.
There is a good restaurant opposite Mallikarjun temple near Akkalkot ST bus stand on 1st floor.
We finished dinner at Guru Mandir, relaxed a bit since there were too many people for mahaprasad.
Kaka gave a brief speach we then headed back to our buses & then to our rooms quickly since had to catch up lost sleep to visit the vatavruksha temple next day at 5am (wakeup at 4 am to fill hot water bucket outside the rooms) in the morning where you can actually see the original red paduka of Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj in the temple which then gets covered up during pooja till next day morning.
Again a fellow in blue shirt and white pant was allowed to shoot the kakad aarti video in the Vatavruksha temple but some from our group took out mobile the staff started screaming STOP STOP no mobiles.

I decided to travel to Akkalkot with the Pune Akkalkot Pune Seva Yatra.
The Akkalkot Wari was from 11-12 Sept 2022.
Its coordinated with no profit - no loss basis by Shri Shrikant Soundankar kaka. All money extra remaining is donated to temples or programmes associated with the organization.
I joined the Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj Akkalkot wari because I have never been with them before though my wife, my daughter, my mother in law have been with them multiple times.
I have driven to Akkalkot countless times by car but I never went in an organized tour, I wanted to meet people who have knowledge and not just sight seeing and reciting jap at the temples.
Soundankar kaka is like a family elder to us. So wanted to do something for him. What better than cover the wari. While I am editing these videos for you, his videos specific to wari have been edited and will be published on his channel launch very soon.
I met many interesting people in the trip. We met for the 1st time, they were friendly and heart warming as if they knew me for a long time.
