yes, I listen and feel his frustration coming through too, that is where my study of Krishnamurti usually comes to a halt. He does not exhibit a vibration that I want to emulate. He is always mad. I am humbly trying to get past a state of anger.

@@hcharton5722 You want to emulate and seek a vibration in him which you don't see, but that's exactly what he doesn't want anyone to attempt to do. We have been conditioned by society to seek a system and follow it, whereas his goal is to guide us to seek it on our own without looking for a system to adhere to or follow. I have most of his books but have not read even one. I will start reading them. Meanwhile, I will continue watching his talks as there is intensity and depth in his talks which may not be available in the book. Someone in the comments section in one of his talks had suggested reading his "Freedom From The Known." I think you should look it up. It might give you the answers you are looking for. The road to Absolute clarity is a pathless path. A master can only lead us upto a certain point. Then, you are on your own. The path may be difficult but I believe that the journey and the destination will certainly be worth it all. My humble opinion and suggestion. No offended intended 😊🙏

@hcharton5722 If I could share my perspective, the whole reason this man is conveying his message is because this man has seen the true Self.
His approach is what fits him best in has path of truth, remember.. there is no absolute way of approach. Only the one you find and express, yes the intensity varies in degree; how men express.
But it's essentially the same in nature, it's about seeing through his way of conveying the message of truth, focusing on what you can adopt in finding it in your own way/path; using your own creative ability.
Do not focus on the messenger, but the message, and all concepts will dissappear. Because that outdoes any resistance you're having of not agreeing to his ways.
Remember: The All is Mind, the Universe is Mental. You are the Creator.

@sebastianvettel1000 In my case, I was too occupied with my job that I had no time to find and read Jiddu Krisnamurti. Once I lost my job and couldn't get a new one in spite of non-stop efforts for a few years, it dawned on me that prospective employers are seeing me as a suitable candidate for retirement instead of hiring. So first I started my own project and then after finishing it I devoted my full attention to finding the root cause of my discontent. That's how I moved from meditation to Inner Engineering to Advait Vedanta to Krishnamurti and finding it to be so as its nature.

This is a very interesting and philosophical way to elucidate the idea of "awareness". Essentially he is saying that to let yourself be consumed by discontent while being aware that you are being consumed by discontent, you are the same as someone standing outside the discontent pointing at it and saying: "This is so". And that people who are totally discontent and fed up with everything about existence are in the very unique and privileged position of being able to discover awareness and separate consciousness from the content of life -- which is the ultimate purpose of our existence here. I love how he never serves up answers on a plate but makes the listener/audience really work for their own understanding of them.

In last paragraph JK is saying that...When you completely aware of dissatisfaction then you become free from dissatisfaction basically he meant you become enlightened. And other person is also enlightened. So once an enlightened person meets other enlightened person. Then both enlightened person are same or alike. Why ? Because both enlightened people doesn't have self or ego hence "No seperation".
Generally we have image of everything in our life...We have image of ourselves. Image of our friends, image of tree, birds etc.
When you become completely free from all images means your Ego dissolves and when you watch "A tree" without ego ...Then you become tree. Images means seperation. If I have image of my mother then I have seperated myself with my mother. It's a fact.
You are Tree. If you are looking at tree without "Self" or without seperation.
    You are rock,
    You are bird
    You are earth
    You are humanity.
But you are not everything, if you have self or Ego inside you then you are individual and seperated from everything.

I can say this from when I had total awareness: when people tell you they didn't understand your message, it requires a lot of attention to get it right for them. it's not you or them, it's the relationship between you two that carries the message. without total awareness there can't be a valueable message at all. so focus, and go into it until you know and feel the perfect truth of the answer. that is total awareness, and that works. the person will immediately understand what is meant and it is also the only way for you to maintain total awareness, the acting out of total awareness.
we live life today in such a way that we expect a person to answer quickly and be witty. such a quick answer most often has no total clarity. you say something and it is mostly true, but either it doesn't mean much because you live in concepts, or it doesn't consider the state of mind of the other person entirely. this is the mediocrity that K sometimes talks about. let's say you're talking with a friend that broke up with his girlfriend, and you tell him not to worry and do this and that. that message is not true in the sense that it doesn't get to the root of the problem. and your friend will probably pretend to be thankful but inwardly disappointed. he directly feels the grief and sorrow and he wants a solution for that, because he deeply knows there is a solution. with full attention, you could see the clinging of their thoughts and all the confused intentions and decisions that made them search for a relationship in the first place. with full attention you would see that not only have they completely gotten confused about human relationship out of desire, but they also don't see where to go without desire, because they don't know it, perhaps they never meditated. so you go deep in their state of consciousness and see how they really feel, you understand them so well that you become them for the moment, of course combined with your knowledge. out of this merged state of consciousness comes the answer.
so this never happens, because we just accelerate more and more and our thoughts go more insane. it's almost impossible to find someone who is willing for you to take some minutes to get the attention to answer. the expectation is much too high, we expect everyone to already have full attention, while in reality, nobody has that. people are somewhere between fine and complete confusion, never here entirely

to be totally unsatisfied with yourself and the universe reflects to me best the fact that nothing or nobody what or whosoever can fill this gap. to feel this as a matter of fact to me is the starting point to so called enlightenment...if you fill this gap with cunsumption or any substitutes the journey will never start...coz you too easily fall asleep once again...this is how our whole capitalistic society functions...but facing the void in yourself without any cheap substitute...even so called love between human beings...will bring your inner flame of unsatisfaction to an eternal fire...and this fire is pure energy...like our sun ...burning...feel that and you will know...avoid it you will fall asleep again in a mediocre state of mind...i really wished to have met that guy...so integer and intelligent

Mind gets discontented when the newness of a person, thing or situation is gone. It is it’s nature (rajasic nature). It wants more & more… it is not satisfied by millions or trillions of dollars. It is never satisfied by worldly “stuff”.

      The difference?
      - Both are discontent. One as a whole individual, and therefore compassionate in his approach. The other as a divided person, and therefore antagonistic in his approach.
The fragment inevitably moves to meet with the compassionate whole, of which it is inherently a part of.

We bandy about words like love, fear etc, but until we've investigated without the word, we don't really know what those things mean. I think you can take any of these emotions like love or fear, and if you go to the very end of it, you're free; but almost no one ever does. I think it's rubbish personally, the planet and cosmos has a greater effect on itself than humans ever will and studies show that most of the c02 in the atmosphere is caused by.......dun dun dun water vapour. Carbon is very necessary for life just like oxygen. We will still be here in 10 years. The world isn't as messed up as they want you to believe. Further more it's not us humans doing most of the damage but massive corporations. The sun and cosmos, Who now want to make money off of free energy. Problem is to have a revolution takes alot of money money money and they don't want to spend it. So they are getting us to spend our money to set up new industries for them so they don't lose money in the change over.
And most of that change is rubbish and a con. For example battery powered energy driven cars are just as damaging if not more so to the planet because of the chemicals and resources nessacery to build and power a battery. No one thinks about this those batteries and their cores are not indefinitely avalible they come from dun dun dun.....The earth. Same with your computers and phones ect ect. Their billion dollar industries that are conning you.
The fact most of us think the earth is that meek that we could destroy it. Is a frankly a bad joke. The earth will destroy us way before we end it and then go on living. AS LONG AS the solar system and sun are conducive and optimal for that to occur. Problem with us humans is we are so self obsessed and beleave ourselves so self important and powerful. Hence creating problems in our heads that don't exist. This makes us easy to manipulate by others who understand this and use it against us. Problem (real or fake) Reaction Solution. 101 and been used for thousands of years to manipulate us. If everyone just shut up for 5 mins and enjoyed the ride that is we would all be alot happier.

You live now because you desire to, if some took your live in their hands you would fight for it beg for it. Right now it's easy to say you don't desire but it's not a conscious thing, your body will fight to live even if you tell yourself and it not to (I don't want to). You desire sex or at least some form of connection or affection.
You cannot escape desire. Even saying I don't desire anything is a inversion of not getting what we want. Depression is desire without will or will without desire.
Any attempt to say I do not desire is an illusion of yourself and based in ego. To cease to desire one must cease to exist. Because saying I will train myself not to desire is mearly saying I desire not to desire. 😎👊

The 1st step (if I may suggest?) is to not resist your depression. Depression is a word. What makes you so sure that you're depressed? You are hypnotized by words and concepts If you had fallen overboard a ship and were drowning you would no longer be depressed. (This extreme example is just to make the point of how conditional your dilemma is.) So progress could begin by not labeling how you feel and instead accepting how you feel as something wonderful.

1st Question: I am dissatisfied with everything. I have read and thought a great deal but my discontent with the whole universe is still there. What you talk about makes me more discontented, more disturbed, more troubled. I now feel frustrated, antagonistic to you. What is wrong with what you are saying? Or is something wrong with me?
I think the more one observes the world, what is happening - over population, pollution, corruption, violence, and observing all that practically in every country in the world, one is trying to find an answer to all this. That’s one part of the question.
And the other is: the questioner says ‘I am discontented, not only with what you are saying but with everything around me: with my job, with my wife, with my husband, with my girlfriend and so on, so on, or boy, or whatever it is. I am discontented’. And that is the common lot for most of us. Either it becomes a consuming flame, or it is dampened down by seeking some kind of satisfaction in various activities of life. And discontent, instead of allowing it to become a consuming flame, most of us almost destroy it. We are so easily satisfied, we are so gullible, we are so ready to accept, and so gradually our discontent withers away and we become the normal, mediocre human beings without any vitality, without any energy, without any urge to do anything.
But the questioner says I have been through all that. I have read a great deal, I’ve thought about life a great deal, probably have been all over the world, and I have not found an answer to this discontent. And people who are thoughtful, aware what is happening around them and in themselves, aware that politics, science, religion has not answered any of our deep, human problems. They have technologically evolved, developed and so on, but inwardly I am discontent. And listening to you as the speaker, I am more disturbed, more discontented and antagonistic to what you are. What is wrong with you and what you are saying? Or, there is something wrong with me.
First of all let us be very clear that when there is discontent, is that discontent per se - you understand? - per se, in itself, or you are discontented with something? Vous avez compris? You understand? I may be discontented with the world, with the philosophies, with the various instructions of various religions. But that discontent is with something, towards something or in something. It is not the discontent which has no cause, and therefore can be ended. As we said the other day, where there is a cause there is an end. Has this discontent a cause, and therefore it can be resolved, ended? Or this discontent has no cause? Please go with the speaker, we are sharing this question together. As we said, one can be discontented with so many things, as human beings are, better house, better this and better that - you understand? The moment there is a measure there must be discontent. You have understood this? I wonder. I’ll go on, you’ll find...
I am glad you are antagonistic to what is being said. Instead of accepting and sitting quietly and saying, yes, but - I am antagonistic to you, I don’t accept! You are causing me much more disturbance, I feel frustrated, therefore I am urged towards this sense of antagonistic attitude. So we must be very clear whether this discontent has a cause and if it has a cause then that discontent is seeking contentment, satisfaction, gratification. So this discontent creates the opposite - to be contented, to be satisfied, to be completely bourgeois, like the Communists are. And if that is this search, desire, if that is what you want when you are deeply discontented - to find something with which you can be completely contented, never to be disturbed, then that discontent will find a way to gather satisfaction, and therefore that discontent is withered, gone.
Perhaps that is what most of us are doing. Probably all of you, if I may point out, you are discontented. You have been to this, to that, to that talk, to that person and so on, so on, and you perhaps come here wanting some kind of satisfaction, some kind of certainty, some kind of assurance, some gratifying truth. And if that is so then you will find satisfaction very easily, which most of us do - in the kitchen, in some aspect of religion, or enter politics - Left, Right, Centre or Extreme Left, Extreme Right - and carry on. This is what generally happens with all of us. And so you gradually, inevitably narrow down the mind, make the mind small. And the capacity of the brain is so immense, you have reduced it to mere satisfaction. Vous avez compris? You understand?
And if you are not satisfied with anything, if you are discontented with the whole universe, as the questioner puts, not be dissatisfied because you haven’t got a house, or you haven’t got money - you know, at that level. So this discontent, has it no cause and therefore it is a discontent in itself, not because of something? Is that clear? Am I making this - we are getting together, are we making this clear? That is, I am discontent, if I am seeking contentment, that is very simple and very easy. But if I am totally completely dissatisfied with everything: with the government, with the religion, with science, politics, everything. And such people are rare, such people have this flame of discontent. And perhaps such a person comes here, listens, reads, hears, and that discontent increases, it becomes all-consuming. So what shall we do? You understand the question clearly? What shall we do with a human being who is totally and completely dissatisfied with all the structure of thought?
As I said, such a person is a very rare human being. Such a person one can meet because he is - please listen carefully - he is in an immovable state - right? He is not seeking, he is not wanting, he is not pursuing something or other - he is aflame with this thing. And the speaker is also immovable - right? You understand what I am saying? What he says is so, not because he is dogmatic, superstitious, romantic, or self-assertive. He says that if you know, comprehend your consciousness with its content and the freeing of that consciousness from its content there is a totally different dimension. He has said this for sixty years, not because he has invented it, it is so. He has discussed with scientists, philosophers, great scholars and so on. And they have acknowledged, some of them, that it is so. Scientists seek that which is beyond, through matter. And the speaker says human beings with their brain and heart and mind are matter - process, and instead of looking at matter outside you, enquire into this matter who you are, and you can go much further, and more he has said - the ending of sorrow, the ending of fear and so on. And there are these two entities, one - are you following all this? - one completely discontented, nothing satisfies him, words, books, ideas, leaders, politics, scientists - nothing and so he is in a state of immobility. And the other is equally immovable, will not budge, will not yield. Are you following all this? What happens?
When two human beings, one completely from his depth of mind and heart, dissatisfied, and the other from the depth of his mind and the depth of his heart and so on says ‘It is so’. These two entities meet. You understand what I am saying? It is not romantic, it is not something invented, something out of imagination. This is so. One feels antagonistic to the other, which means he has already moved. I don’t know if you follow it. He has not remained completely dissatisfied. The moment he says, ‘I am antagonistic to you or your talk and all that’, he has moved away from what is burning. Therefore he has already softened. I wonder if you understand this. And the other has no antagonism. He says, ‘It is so’. When this person meets the other without antagonism, without wanting something from the speaker, then he is alike. Have you understood this? I wonder! No, I see you don’t understand this.
If this discontent develops antagonism, it is no longer discontent. Right? And so he is aflame with what he calls discontent. It’s a flame. And the other too is aflame. You understand? Then both are the same. Fire is a fire. It is not your fire, and my fire, it is fire. When the fire is dampened, then the two are different. Vous avez compris?
So if the speaker may ask: are you, as a human being, living in this terrible world, and if you have followed, they are saying within fifty years the earth will be almost uninhabitable, what is your condition of discontent? Is it merely puerile, childish, immature? Or if you are a human being totally aflame with discontent, never developing a reaction against that - being frustrated, being antagonistic, but let that flame be alive, then both are the same.

"...[people who are] discontented with religion, politics, science, everything- and such people are rare..." Not these days they aren't, and perhaps rightfully so. Things have certainly been more grim in the past, though never have we been so close to the precipice of our own extinction whilst charging with such mindless confidence toward it. Furthermore I'd also argue people have never been quite so alienated from each other, particularly in the West.

I am hoping for extinction of humanity for all my life. That would be the best thing that can happen to us. We are insane, unhappy and unloving

my wife of 48 years is discontent - exactly as described - me ? I am happy
it is never easy but we love it each other - not our choice

I am totally discontent in everything merely because I can sense that I am not content in my 58 years of living. My discontentment was the flame for my survival and for as long as I have that flame I will live until the flame dies.

Being discontented has to do with control so I believe and passed conditioning.
My thought I don't expect anything from anyone. Just let what will happen will happen if you go in expecting something to happen their is a big chance it won't besides if one expects something to happen a certain way you're missing out on what could have happened.
Not sure if these kind of people are rare they just come in different degrees of discontent.
As far as what is going on in the world we can change this by being aware of ourself.
I prefer to just drop the word discontent. We are here to learn from each other but every encounter may not resonate and that is perfectly OK.

I just feel bored of all the spiritual teachings I've come across since starting my journey when I was 13, I'm 38 now and don't want to give up on spirituality or mindfulness, but sometimes I feel like I need to do something other than thinking of or practicing these ideas. A combination of rational, critical, and logical thinking leads to believe quite strongly that we made these ideas up, just like how we made up language ethics and morality. I agree that taking breaks from it all helps or having other hobbies are a more balanced lifestyle. way to many teachings and philosophies that contradict and some that are too condescending for my liking. I have way to many questions to pose for the the ideas of being the chosen one, chakras, past lives, astrology, eleven eleven, backwards law, law of attraction, (which is a bullshit and dangerous or magical thinking which isn't practical) and so many others. meaning value reason or purpose of or for anything imaginable can and does lead some of us to obsession and lets just face it that's not healthy. remember its ok to think for yourself.

even without watching this will know that K will make it much more complicated than it need be.
meditate..go within and rest in your Self once or twice a day and you won't be discontented anymore. the solution is never "out there", ie all the objects and events of the world, but only deep within.

Total dissatisfaction equals total non-conformity. That is, to the encompassing or non-dual gaze (perception), which never settles, never stops at a goal (or duality). It is then that duality and non-duality come into equilibrium: if there is seeking, movement in time, the equilibrium is broken, the duality governs, not being perceived. Non-duality and duality (see D. Bohm's Holokinesis) perform an intrinsically expansive, dynamic dance: cosmic Mind is movement, holomovement or holokinesis, in itself, but outside of time (or including within itself time, rather). Thought or duality is in pursuit of something, and for that reason it moves: it is a conditioned, circumstantial movement, it believes that it will ever stop at that which it seeks.

This is how Eckhart Tolle discovered his path. He asked "Who or What is discontented?" and then he just stayed with it and he realized himself.

Here is the solution, end it. Because until then, you are you. Hay who knows maybe your you after this experience as well.
The alternative is simple as well. Act. In action you do not think. And thought is the discountentment. So when you are unhappy. Go and do something and stop thinking about crap.

Expectations. Is The word that is missing here, in the comparison of the two. Of this wonderful example. One says it is so. This is the world. The other expects it to match to his will. And in that sense he is contradicting himself by that expectation.
