All I can say is..DAMN..I had heard of Fanny, but these women can ROCK..I just got through watching them in a documentary on PBS..you need to find a way to re-release this song, along with the rest of this album.. it's GREAT..I LOVE THIS.. WHO'S LISTENING TO THEM IN MAY 2023.
They are a damn good rock band, saw them in 73 and got chills just watching them. I couldn't wait to tell my friends about the lady rock band I just witnessed. I was totally ecstatic when Fanny appeared once again
Yeh cause Zep got all the credit while the hundreds of great bands back then were forgotten...until social media came along and washed all the $$$$ away from those ripoff record execs and managers
Introduced Fanny to a friends 12 yr. old niece last year with "Ain't that Peculiar". She loved the band and also June Millington's vest. While working at an Indian reservation out west, I saw they made items for funding their school. I asked, "Can you make a vest like this one for me"? "I need 2 for a little girl, one for now and one for later when she's bigger and one for her mom and aunt to". Total 4 Last week I told the little one to put her vest on and watch "Fanny Walked The Earth". She loved it! P.S. I never got so much value (not $) from the custom made vest's and the custom made people in "Fanny"! All one of a kind!
Fortunately I lived in one of the most musically progressive non West coast cities of the 1960s-Boulder Colorado-when Fanny first hit the airwaves. Denver radio stations gave Fanny fair airplay. Went to see them the first chance I had-Denver 1971 just before they released this album. Used to own the first four on vinyl. About the only thing that has changed (aside from the obvious personnel changes) is that they now control their own production which makes for a truer representation of how talented these ladies are.
Severely underrated, hit a blind spot somehow, flew under the radar, but the writing, the musicianship, the tightness of the group, you can't hide the reality from people with eyes and ears.
As a kid growing up in Detroit, I would deliver ad copy to Cream Magazine. They had a bin of demo records free for the taking. That is how I discovered, and got my first Fanny album.
Would love one of those demo records!! Great story...thank you! I hope you enjoy our entire 2018 record: Fanny Walked The Earth, available on Blue Elan Records or on Amazon!
i have to be honest i just found out about Fanny yesterday. i was born in 77 ...but i love rock music . everything from the beetles ...the doors right up to nirvana ..pearl jam.. and so on. i am so very happy that i came across that live recording you did in 71! lately ive been into alot of female rock bands from japan...theres a ton...and there arent really any in our part of the world. not anymore i guess! i play guitar...bass and drums! taught myself in 96 ! and since yesterday ive been glued to your music! i literally sat in my chair watching and saying over and over...how did i not now about this band??? i love you guys! i love Fanny!!! you now have a fan all the way in the Bahamas !!

Yes, you may inspire female musicians, but you inspire male musicians just as much. The last 6 weeks of my life have been much more joyful since I discovered Fanny. „Last night I had a Dream“ is my favorite song at the moment, closely followed by Blind Alley.
Have always said this band was underrated and overlooked for years. Awesome to see them defying expectations yet again to rock as good as ever. This song rocks.
I am blown away. I just discovered this band and CANNOT believe that they have not gotten the recognition they deserve. Forget the Bangles, and all the other so-called girl rock bands ( with the exception of Hole, which was really was a legit all-girl rock band), Fanny is and was the real deal. They played with passion, grit and superior musicality. You know what? If there ever an example of just blatant discrimination and bias based on gender, here's a glaring example. How in the world are Fanny and Chaka Khan not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame- where's the commitment to inclusion?
@@briedarlingmusic8426 Yah! I wanna say this song has balls, but it's written and played by women. So now I'm just confused LOL. Let's just say it's got muscle and great hooks!
Alice actually thanked me for sending one of their songs out to everybody on valentines day.. Pretty cool.. I was in the middle east surrounded by bad people at the time..
I've been watching vid's of you ladies from the early 1970's and wondering why and how you were never famous? I think you were robbed.
