- Written as a reaction to the Gulf War ~ we were living in the Sacramento area at the time, where musically it all started for us, Jr high and McClatchy High school. Everything was a Ticket to Wonderful! Every song that came on the radio was one we could learn; our mom helped us buy electric guitar, bass, amps, a p.a. and we started to do gigs. Pretty soon we were feelin' it, and rockin'! So you'll see our first band, the Svelts, shots of us in the Philippines (Christmas family shot at Fanny Hill, too) and more of the family as we grow up. It's true ... "when everything seemed like, a Ticket to Wonderful" is, in our lives, that special and magical time. I'm glad we were able to grab some of it in this song.

This band just showed up on my utube videos. I've never heard of them, but they are very good they should definitely be in the r&r hall of fame.
Such talent that the entire world did not get to experience 50 years ago. Your legion of fans in 2021 love Fanny, June and Jean, as well as the other members of the old band. I hope Jean is doing well and is recovering from her stroke. Thank God for TH-cam so that we can now experience what we didn't get to in the late 60s and early 70s. I'm 63 and your music, past and present brings me joy and keeps an old guy rocking.

Wow! Such a breath of fresh air in a polluted world. I grew up with the song "Blind Alley". Hadn't thought about it in decades to be honest. Ran into it here on TH-cam and ended up going down a Fanny rabbit hole. I never thought of Fanny as a female Rock band. Just a Rock band that had a song I really liked. Being introduced to the material I had never heard is like finding gold in a coal mine (unexpected yet welcomed). Hearing modern music from a couple of the original members after 40+ years is the icing on the cake! Beautiful song that shows you still have "IT"!
These ladies are soooo beautiful, of heart and soul, such a great way to lift any day higher. Thank you Fanny!

Thus, I totally loved the music of the 60's and 70' generations. When I watch your video "Ain't that peculiar (72)" it completely takes me back to the bell bottom, hippie (if you will) sort of environment and times. My father met my mother when he was in the Air Force and stationed in England in the mid 50's. I'm guessing your parents met in a similar fashion. Thx for the reply June! Their was THE LIVERBIRDS the first all girl rock band from ENGLAND in the 1960s, They toured all over ENGLAND AND EUROPE and released Albums and singles

We were living, at the time, in Davis, not far from McClatchy High in Sacto, where Jean and I went when we started the Svelts. I was remembering how much hope we had then, then to see it dramatized and commercialized on tv ... I was appalled. But still I remember when "everything seemed like a Ticket to Wonderful":)) xx

I see you guys were from Sacramento in my time period. Actually at the time, '68-'72 I was living on a commune in Sonoma county, Sebastopol area called Wheelers ranch, owned by Bill Wheeler, and down the was a few miles was Morningstar ranch founded by Lou Gottlieb. Any way, if we had known about ya, The whole ranch would have come to see ya.
