I’m so glad you brought the Vacheron releases to the fore. These seem to have been glossed over in favour of more popular brands but I think these are proper stunners! I would agree whole heartedly on these as being best in class! 👌👌
The eternal calendar doesn't need to be reset after 45 mln. years, the moophase is accurate for that time and deviates only 24 hours after 45 mln. years. The calendar is only accurate for 3499 years until the end of the Gregorian Calendar but it calculates for the missing leap years in 2100, 2200, 2300 and 2400 with a wheel that turns once in 400 years. Where other perpetual calendars need to be adjusted every 100 years and that could become rather stressful.

Yeah i did more reading about it after i recorded this video. Amazing watch!
@@Dazulolwarrior I was wrong with the dates Calendar works until 3999 and there’s actually a leap year in 2400. Not that someone misses an appointment because of my post.
@@crastinator_pro Yes, it's easy to remember every hundrets of years that can be divided by 400 without any rest will be a leap year! 1900 wasn't a leap year while 2000 was a leap year as most of us will remember! 😇🤣 In Excel I always calculate with 365.2425 as days in a year!
I agree with everything you said about the Vacheron Overseas. It would be so hard to choose which one to buy but then to decide between the green dial and the blue?!!!! That blue dial is also gorgeous. I think the best blue dial on the market.
This A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Lumen in white gold is my highlight of the Watches & Wonders 2024. Yes, I'm Swiss but A. Lange & Söhne's craftmanship beats easily all of those (Swiss) "holy trinity" - hands down!
The trouble with perpetual calendar watches is that you have to wear them continuously (like I do with my Rolex GMT Master) or have to remember to wind them regularly in order to keep up with the time.
Your choices are, as always, impeccable. Your videos are a couple of light years away from the "click-baiters". All the VCs? Just beautiful... the green against the gold? AL&S... well, just delicious. The Rolex? This time a real departure. Cartier? Again, stunning. All these watches are complete "pipe dreams" in my case... "You may say, I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one".
Top picks ! My favorites : A.Lange (-out of my league, unfortunately); Vacheron (beautiful) and Rolex 1908 (really not expected twist, but really well done)
MaMaCoo You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Love all these picks…it’s nice to get off the hype path once in a while. I also love the Chopard LUC Qualite Fluerier in steel with silver dial..great looking piece and beautiful finishing
Vacheron line were stunning. Loved also Rolex 1908, beautiful guilloche dial. Oisin you missed Jaeger LeCoultre, they released some impressive watches in Duometre line.
Good job -- these are stunners (as you say). The Rolex 1908 holds it own because of extreme elegant looks & simple case shape. And all these show that green is still in!
The ALS Datograph models released were spectacular as was the IWC Eternal Calendar. I was really impressed with those. The new Patek world timer looks great and is what I would look to Patek for over their sport models.
The IWC releases have really got my mouth watering. The Swiss watch company that has oil in their movements/Cases/Dials was mind blowing (not sure which cause it was a quick clip I saw on Producer Michaels page, sorry). The dial rotated 360 degrees which sounds like a Jacob & Co. but it was nothing like their watches. I should really have done some research before this comment but I’m sure the watch community can help me. Long story short - I’m frothing over those IWCs and it is a brand I’m fairly new to and my love seems to be growing and growing. This second watch company I’m trying to describe was also mind blowing. I like my timeless classics from the 60s/70s/80s, but these two companies I’m mentioning still keep their designs “traditional” looking but with some of the latest innovations in engineering and are a work of art. Appreciate the upload 🇮🇪 ❤
What a breath of fresh air from all the Rolex bombardment....great variety, like you I have a soft spot for classics and you covered all my favorites.👍
I have to agree about VC. If I had that money/opportunity to buy any of the three o would choose VC. Yes, I know from an investment point of view I may get better ROI from AP or PP, but for me watches are not a monetary investment. I buy them to wear them. So a VC Overseas is my grail. Even in the stainless steel.
For the average Joe I think the real show stopper is the Tudor Black Bay Monochrome METAS in either metal bracelet although I do like the look of the rubber too. ❤
I've only become aware of the VC Overseas in recent months. Why is it so undermentioned? Maybe the bezel is too polarising? I love it, my next mod watch has a case inspired by this.
Awesome watch review, thank you so much! My favorite of all presented watches is clearly the Lange & Sohne as it has this incredible depth and beauty of its dial and a mesmerizing movement but price wise it seems to be completely out of reach 😢.
Those are all terrific Oisin, enjoyable video. I'm drawn to the Zenith Defy Revival a3648, a fun almost literal reproduction of their 37mm 600m diver released in 1969.
Can't wait for the Tudor rant. :) During the Covid, I relied on Tudor because they were the only ones not inflating their watch prices to unreasonable levels.
Aside from IWC's absurd eternal calendar, the updates to the Portugieser are super nice and nuanced. Really luxurious, IMO. I really like Zenith's Defy Skyline Chronographs, but I'd still opt for the three hand. But only because I already have a Zenith El Primero Chrono and I waited a long time for a hi-beat three hand movement from them. I was also a fan of Chopard's lovely (LUC) XP, and continue to appreciate the Alpine Eagle. Still waiting for my dream Solarbeat Santos Dumont, but worry about the price it might land at, when that day comes.
Thankfully a review of non Rolex and Tudor. The Overseas and Tortue are beautiful and IWC debuted some beautiful Chrono's, also Laurent Ferrier had some lovely pieces.
Most enjoyable. I melt at the thought of owning a VC. Maybe because they’re out of reach for most people. I feel that out of the Holy Trinity, they’re the least known, but the best. Just my opinion. Love the vid.
You sir are correct. Vacheron is the best of the three, and those are some of the best I’ve ever seen from them. People go nuts for the VC blue, but that green and rose gold combo is what’s at the end of the fucking rainbow.
Keep up the great work. New VC watches look superb (I own a Chronograph blue dial current model O/S) and it is great. That green dial look amazing. In regard to Rolex - Wonder what the average price of the new releases are - must one of the more expensive new group. As a Rolex fan - there is nothing that makes me ring my AD.
Once I pulled the trigger on a Vacheron, I haven't looked back. I now have 3 Overseas, the 3 handed brown dial, the Chrono Panda and the Retrograde Moonphase. Along with my Aquanaut (my only Patek), those watches dominate the majority of my wrist time.
I think you need to acquire that dual time green dial overseas and make an epic video of it back in Ireland. Those of us whose accountants would caution against such a purchase, and without your video making skills would love to see it. Cheer's 🍻
Agree on 1908. It’s refreshing, new, beautiful, vintage flavor. Just hope they will eventually release aluminum version to make it an option for me one day.
Dear Mr. Oisin, please don't panic like that! Your APs aren't any less of a watch than those Vacherons you see there. They are equally good if not better although I'm not a fan of waffle dialed watches. Now you believe me that had told you waffle dials aren't that big of a deal, clean flat dials are always more attractive. Now about those Vacherons! If you are fascinated by that green dial, it's the same color found in Longines Conquest automatic but you hardly ever see anyone talk about it or praising it! Unlike the other commenting fellows below I'm no fan of Overseas bezel and bracelet design although I appreciate the quick release system. The watch in general looks too overly engineered, too exaggerated design, too loud of a design language trying hard to draw your eyes "HEY LOOK AT ME, I'M A MILLIONER'S WATCH" and I don't know if anyone notice how ugly and unproportionately the date windows are in these watches let alone the white background(in this day and age)! Oh and that cockroach size counter balance on the seconds hand contrary of minutes hand and hours hand! I mean what the hell is that?! And why would you carve or draw a compass on a rotor made of paramagnetic 18kr gold in the back of a watch?! I mean silly stuff one after the other! You see what I'm talking about?!BTW the royal eagle that you used to have is head and shoulders above the overseas models if you're asking me. You always hear this expression that there is no such thing as perfect watch but I think people must consider measuring imperfections in watches too to see who can win😄
45 million years isn’t the adjustment time. That’s the end of when we’ve projected the current calendar. But obviously the gears would be ground smooth many times over by then and the gaskets dust. For all intents and purposes, it’s a conversation piece and micro-mechanical marvel.
Spot on Oisín! Great highlights list ... they are all amazing, but the tourbillon from Alange just gives me pause and I can't stop staring. Thanks as always for your thoughts!
I was lucky enough to be invited to A.LANGE & SOHNE boutique in harrods to see the 2 new datograph watches , they allowed me to actually try them on , the datograph lumen is over £500k and the blue dial datograph £125k. I wanted to purchase the blue dial datograph but they turned me down as I don’t have a spend history (after inviting me) 😢😢😢😢😢. Anyway without doubt I will purchase an A.LANGE watch in the near future. Datograph perpetual is my choice ❤
Rolex is no more in my buying list I prefer IWC instead buying a pair for my daughter and coming son-in-law for the wedding gift and also one for myself.
VC is the most unique . The crazy part I like it is not very popular like rolex or AP or PP . That's make it special when you wear it . I have the three conography colors . Will add this one.
Regarding Rolex it's really feels like they wants "us" to push more into Tudor than buying the Rolex-stuff and like making Rolex even more "exclusive"..
Great watches but simply unaffordable for 99%. The Lange is my favourite here. The Vacheron is nice but just an obvious play
Couldn't agree more on the Vacheron Constantin absolutely stunning!
I’m so glad you brought the Vacheron releases to the fore. These seem to have been glossed over in favour of more popular brands but I think these are proper stunners! I would agree whole heartedly on these as being best in class! 👌👌

That green Vacheron is stunning and gorgeous ❤😊
No mention of the JLC Duometer Tourbillon?? I think it’s stunning…
I agree with everything you said about the Vacheron Overseas. It would be so hard to choose which one to buy but then to decide between the green dial and the blue?!!!! That blue dial is also gorgeous. I think the best blue dial on the market.
(1) VC green, time&date only; (2) AL&S; (3) Rolex 1908. Honorable mention - Rolex RG DD w/grey ochre dial.
The VC is a hard hitting piece. I was going to say silent destroyer but it’s definitely not. Stunner. Great vid as usual Oisin.

I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of amzwatch. Their watches are of exceptional quality.
Agreed O ! Those VacheronConstantins are stunning . Well done 👏
Wow, stunning AP you got there. I’ll have to dig out your videos for some AP discussions. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Great to see you coming around to Vacheron
Cheers!
love the older Cartier's, elegance personified.
For around the same money, and both at 39mm....the Rolex 1908 in Platinum , or the JLC ultra thin Perpetual Calendar in steel.....no contest.
The Lange lumen and the Cartier Tortue mono pusher in white gold are my favourites.
Love all these picks…it’s nice to get off the hype path once in a while. I also love the Chopard LUC Qualite Fluerier in steel with silver dial..great looking piece and beautiful finishing
The IWC perpetual is off the scale and the Lange is just incredible. Time to re evaluate the so called Holy trinity. Based on what exactly?
Vacheron line were stunning. Loved also Rolex 1908, beautiful guilloche dial. Oisin you missed Jaeger LeCoultre, they released some impressive watches in Duometre line.

Best Moonwatch is Christopher Ward Moonglow.
Or their Moonphase which actually uses glass made down the canale from you!!!

love that chrono you have on. The Overseas is a true treasure. I think even Zenith was more interesting in their offering at W&W than Rolex.
That 1908 perpetual Rolex was elegant wow!
Vacheron Retrograde Moonphase is my favourite. Then the green three hander vacheron. Then 1908 platinum
Love those VC's too! I wonder why that Royal Eagle never got much respect. I always liked it and may get one.
Awesome watch review, thank you so much! My favorite of all presented watches is clearly the Lange & Sohne as it has this incredible depth and beauty of its dial and a mesmerizing movement but price wise it seems to be completely out of reach 😢.
Never really been a big fan of classic watches but the new 1908 my be the one 👌
I don’t think you use the word colorway like so many other reviewers do and for that I thank you. That Cartier monopusher is beautiful.
All Glashütte Watches like Lange&Söhne, Glashütte Original or Union Glashütte - easily take a comparison to Rolex Hublot and on
MaMaCoo has set a new standard for replica watches. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. Its hard to tell the difference from the originals
I do like these watchs over rolex..not sure why...and more the simple dials

Missing is the Moser Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton, surely one of the more successful skeletons (along with the AP's).

JLC's Duometer stole the show in my opinion. I was so ready to give up on 2024 after seeing Rolex.
Another good video. Just a point of order, cartier was using the exposed screw design before AP.
I would love a vacheron constantin american tilted dail😊
Oh man those Overseas!
Please do the Tudor rant 🙏🏻
I also love AP. What do you think of the discontinued AP Jules watch? Great video

Good one Oisin. Thanks -
I enjoy your video 🙏 Please review Jäger Le Coultre watches as I have always had a passion for them, but purchased Rolex & Cartier 😊
Haven’t you been in Geneva ? I think I saw you
If I could run off with just one, it’s the 5980 on the denim.
mirroring the last two guys here...those vacherons really redefine the word grail
I miss the Roadster… Preferably the Walnut Full Yellow Gd
Yeah, that 1908 is perfection..
Best commentary on the 2024 new releases.
Good Vid!
Regarding Rolex it's really feels like they wants "us" to push more into Tudor than buying the Rolex-stuff and like making Rolex even more "exclusive"..
Vacheron Constantin best in show❤❤❤❤
When is Ireland part 2?
