Ramin and John are both perfect in different ways, I’m happy with either. I think ramin was the right choice for phantom and JOJ should have been valjean in the les Mis concerts. HOWEVER, why they keep using Sierra bogges is beyond me. Ramin was practically perfect in the concert but everyone made me roll my eyes at least once.
This is a really outstanding documentary piece, not just on Phantom or JOJ, but just how an actor prepares for a show. Great footage - would like to see more pieces like this.
JOJ sounds like a sweet guy. Very soft spoken and suttle. And his voice is beautiful. I've never seen JOJ as the Phantom, but I've seen clips of him as Phantom. If there is anyone that I like as much as Anthony Crivello, it's JOJ.
Wow. I've been listening to John Owen-Jones for nearly a year through various TH-cam videos, mostly as the Phantom and a bit as Jean Valjean. He has quickly become one of my favorite Phantoms. And now...it's so weird to hear him speak! I never realized how thick his accent was until now. It's so sweet! =)
In this, I love the clip where the camera is on the chandelier and you get an idea of how fast and how high it falls in London. Can't wait to see this for my fitrst time in March next year!!!!!
I would have loved to be sitting in that restaurant when JOJ started singing. That would completely make my day! Seriously, he has such an incredible voice. I would give almost anything to see him perform live!
It's pre-recorded because the Phantom and Christine you see at the beginning are doubles. The real actors are backstage scrambling around to get into the boat.
I heard they have, or had to mime the main song and pre-record it as the mechinery for the boat and candelebres were too noisy to sing over, which seems a decent excuse to me, but sometimes it sounds so live so maybe i'm misinformed.
Does anybody know who put the whole performance here, with JOJ? The vids are gone now, but please please please tell me if you remember who put them on here! :)

Question: How do the Phantoms sing with all that makeup on?
The makeup is pretty soft. It's foam latex so it's not very restrictive. You get used to it over time
I disagree on him being the best Phantom, but he is certainly one of the best. :)
