I think that a better comparison would have been the 2023 Road Glide special compared to the 2024 Road Glide since it's the only model presently being offered. The 2023 special is much nicer than the standard shown here. I'm not a fan of the new fairing and prefer the double light.
@markurbancowboy I never said it wasn't. Everyone has their preference. My opinion is that it looks too similar to the indian and I prefer the double lights. Good luck getting it for 25k.
These are leaps forward. Really I don’t think it has fully sunk in. These changes are truly amazing. Those road glides look freakin’ sweet. And especially the 24 CVO ROAD GLIDE ST , stunning looks , amazing suspension , and 115hp 139tq tuned with warranty , are you kidding me , all that for $42,999 !! All things considered that’s a deal. 24 I’m gonna just go and say it , is the best year line up of all time for Harley.
Style... what goes around, comes around again...like sideburns & mustaches. My 2023 119 C.I. FXST Has Dragbars as most of my bikes over 55+ plus years, had two old sportsters with the buckhorns and liked them, but what ever it takes to stay in the Wind.👍 @@DoWhateverfilms
they work fine on thunder bikes and my tech has them on his new 2023 fat boy... cool is for beer, ride what works for the rider. stay in the wind.@@DoWhateverfilms
Maybe I'm just weird, but all the "perks" mentioned do nothing for me in that I truly enjoy my "old" 2020 Road Glide that I installed a cammed 131" crate motor in. Granted, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the aforementioned, but all that get up and go from the get-go has been plenty of entertainment for the last 4 years and 26,000 miles
What state are you in? Just like every year, when the new bikes come out it Knocks down the previous years, and the old saying," your bike is never going to be worth more than today." applies now more than ever. I'd be happy to help you out if your kinda close. I'm in Texas.
It sure depends on how you look at it, Indian has definitely driven competition in the recent years, but I would say they are far from ahead of the pack..... just wait till they have to change their name, would you ride a Polaris?
We all know Indian is not bigger than HD but they are doing things right….performance and tech wise…they are growing too. HD knows this…. Tell me this…..does HD uses parts made in mexico and china?
Yes they do, so do Indians. Both have 10-20 percent of their parts made in different countries. I just can't get behind a company that has been in and out of business, and passed around for 100 years.
I could say the same about HD who went belly up multiple time and got bailed by the government and multiple occasions…..lets not even mention their latest partnerships…..very questionable. Clearly you prefer HD…thats ok. But NO ONE can’t deny that HD is feeling the heat….and Indian weather you like it or not has the title of first American motorcycle company. HD is 1/2 mexican.
I am looking forward to a comparison between the Challenger and the new Harley. Now that Harley has gone this direction I would consider an Indian or maybe even the newest Goldwing. 🤔
new sub. best video on the internet about this. i just picked up my 2024 RG last week. Love it. put some vids on my channel. I say it’s def a girl’s bike 😊
@TinyDragon haha, I did not mean to put a question mark at the end, meant to put an exclamation point. It is lighter than the previous years! Thanks again!
It would have been nice to see more of the physical differences (side by side). Shots of the bag’s, tank, more of the fairing, jury is still out on the new sharper lines (in one color).
Be aware-if you use your current bike as a trade-in, it's value is $3k to 6k LESS! Black is extra cost, colors cost even more, you need an HD headset purchase to use Car Play, there's an added dongle and charge for Vehicle Hold Control. HD maps now are subscription based. WTF!!!
Only thing they need is to be battery Powered, they all already got the 12in ipad screen and 25 buttons. All the electronic bell and whistles. Making the Rushmore Project Bikes Look like Original Harley Retro Bikes. At least it Cheap on 25k "Base models" last time i give Harley $643 monthly payment, Not for those New bikes, No analog Gauges ? smh, I was there when Fuel Injection was an option, I get it Harley need to Modernize, im good, Times are definitely Changing. VVT on a Harley lol..If i was a desperate man after having 3 RGs Id have to get a SG because those RG are Shit ass Ugly Dammit Harley Davidson
Give it a minute, it'll grow on you, remember when people were against the twin cams when they first came out? Or even when the CV carburetor replaced the old butterfly? We gave it a few years, accepted it and then enjoyed the progression. The police bikes and the full dressers still have the "old" fairings, and engines.
Give it a minute, it'll grow on you. When the 2023 cvos came in it looked weird, now that I've been around it a few months, and ridden it several times, I'm a big fan!
I don't really understand all this, but just stoked to see my old homie on TH-cam lol!
Great improvements on the 2024's. I prefer the street glide though personally.
I have yet to ride the new street glide fairing, it's supposed to be alot more stable than the old one.
great video! thank you

Or in reality the ST with the 117. I wanted to show how much more you get on the regular Road Glide, 23 to 24.
@markurbancowboy I never said it wasn't. Everyone has their preference. My opinion is that it looks too similar to the indian and I prefer the double lights. Good luck getting it for 25k.
@ldubb9621
The listing them for 25,995 at dealerships.
Not for the one you showed with the black trim. It's an additional 1,600. Not certain, but I'm sure it will be some addl mark-ups

It really is amazing that they kept the price really close to the 23s.
both are nice. wish they would put a buckhorn style handle bar on them. with a lower handle bar the fairing would keep your hands out of the wind.
Buckhorn handlebars have fallen out of style. You can still get them, just not what people want these days. Hand guards for the win!

My only gripe is the flat black inner faring and the old looking wheels. They should have kept the Special wheels and inner fairing.
I think they went flat because of customers complaining about sun reflecting off of the gloss. The CVO of course has a color matched inner.
I'm looking for them to bring specials back with those options.
I wonder if both models have the same frame structure/fitment so the new fairing and saddlebags are swappable, just a thought.
I want to try to swap the bags now, and check with parts on the frame differences.
I just looked up the part numbers, and the 2023 and 2024 bagger frames are the same part numbers, so everything should swap over.
@@DoWhateverfilms there is most likely a new ECM in the 24's and that new infotainment system would not work on a 23 system.
Can’t wait until march to get one, is this the first year vivid black wasn’t the standard color
I thought that was just a rumor till we actually got a base color Billiard Gray. I'd love to help you out if you're anywhere near Texas.
@@DoWhateverfilms I’m all the way in Michigan, shipping would kill me. If it was a way to make it work I’m for it

I wonder what is the trade-in values for Road Glide Specials 22/23?

@@DoWhateverfilms im from KY.
When I factor in the price of the new Touring which is cheaper compared to the previous years.
I sold a bike to a guy in Kentucky last week, give me a call and I'll get you a good deal. Call 903-892-2530 and ask for Tony.
They are feeling the heat from Indian….who still ahead in performance and tech out of the box…..

And by the way….if you want to go in that direction….Polaris is probably more American than HD. Polaris produces great american products too.
I’ll wait till I can be the second or third owner of it. Preferably the guy that buys it at a reduced cost from a private seller.
