I saw this title and I just had to quick comment put my two cents in for whatever it might not be worth. Worked in the operating room for 20 years. Many c-sections were involved. I also worked in labor and delivery. From my observation and multiple nurses that I worked with. If you don't want to C-section don't let them give you pitocin and don't get an induction. Soon as they start ramping up the pit forcing your body to do things it's not ready it's almost a sealed deal that you will have a C-section. The doctors are impatient the staff is impatient nobody wants to do a C-section after hours. People have things they want to do after work. People especially don't want to come in in the middle of the night. My suggestion is to everybody and being a person who's on baby number for herself Wait the longest possible till you actually arrive to the hospital. Closest time possible to actual delivery so that there's less interventions put in place and if you can't avoid the hospital all together women have been having babies for thousands of years. It is not a medical emergency although one in I don't know how many thousands might actually be a real emergency. I've only seen one in 20 years maybe two tops. There was an actual emergency and not just dramatized.
doctors will be so quick to recommend a C-section or say you need one even when you don’t, because it’s the easier route for them and the more beneficial route moneywise… my doctor told me that I might get a C-section if I don’t push baby out in two hours, I said no and pushed baby out in four hours
totally agree, my doctor said baby is in distress need to do a c-section, I said no so then she said baby is not in distress I can push. Pushed perfectly healthy baby out.
@@chinyamamugode4501 no, the average amount of time it takes to push a baby out is 4 to 8 hours, so saying that I could get a C-section at two hours is ridiculous. I understand if the woman has issues with her vagina, but I have no fucking issues lol
I’m looking at epidurals different now I say that I’m going to have one when it’s time but I changed my mind I’m going to let my body do it naturally thank you ❤
Thank you for speaking up about this. I decided to have both of my babies at home, because I see more clearly than most women how pretty much evil that whole system is. Once you're under their control, they'll manipulate you in those very vulnerable moments, and it's about their agenda, sadly, not mamas or babies. Truly, only a very small % of births actually need to be done through surgery. Most women have no idea how much power they give up. I felt that power during both my amazing births.
I just want to note I was induced at 40 wks plus 4 days with my second. I delivered naturally and everything went great. But- you have some rights and control even with induction. Talk with your nurse and have an advocate with you. I made it very clear I wanted it as natural as possible and as little pitocin as possible. I had like 2 pitocin drip and once my contractions were going they pulled it off completely. She checked a few times to make sure contractions continued and since they did they left the pitocin off. But my body was basically ready - I was 3 cm when I arrived even though labor hadn't even started and I'd lost my mucus plug weeks ago. So pitocin just kickstarted a process that was already primed and was removed when no longer needed. If it becomes too much, you can tell them to dial it back!! My OB didn't even show up for hours because the induction process took so long, but you have the right to let it take a long time. You can tell them to dial the drip back! Advocate for yourself and have someone there that will have your back if you can!
3:34-3:53 these words actually put me at ease. You can only control what you can control. Anxiety stems from not just the unknown but trying to control it. The only thing you can literally control is your own actions. I’m going to do the best I can do to prepare for my second birth this October. Your videos have helped so much. ❤
For everyone saying not to get induced, sometimes you don’t have a choice. I don’t. My baby is showing some signs of issues and to keep him as safe and healthy as possible I have to be induced early. However I will fight against a C-section to the bitter end. If I have to be in labor for days.
The baby is showing signs of distress in your case therefore it makes sense. Folks are talking about hospitals doing unnecessary procedures to low risk births to get more money out of folks. It’s just unethical and cruel.
I've had to be induced twice. I hate being induced but it was medically necessary. Both times I was able to have them naturally, without pain meds, though the labors were definitely harder than my out of hospital birth. They and I were both fine. Some of us unfortunately don't have the more common low risk pregnancies that other women have. I hope everything went well with your birth. It's looking like mine will have to be induced this week too.
I was induced with my daughter 13 years ago, and because I had an epidural I had to get an emergency c section. They even used a forcep to attempt to pull her while pushing and caused damage at the top of her head. I am pregnant with my second and I am going to do a scheduled c section because my last experience was quite traumatic. I am willing to go through the recovery of a c section Vs possibly putting myself through that same trauma like before. Everyone’s experience is different and everyone recovers differently.
My only advice is to refuse any paralyzing drugs seriously the side effects such as your blood pressure and therefore babies heart rate to drop and since they’re monitoring everything then it’s an emergency c section don’t take any medication that way you can move off the bed or just continue to labor at home if they try to take you back for one lol.

Hi! I am currently pregnant with my 5th child but this is my 4th pregnancy, my first was a failed induction turned c section, my second was a vbac, and third was a breech twin c section, i am fighting for a vaginal delivery with this birth, my providers continuously mention the risks of this, or they would all be uncomfortable with a vbac, and tell me i shouldn’t labor at home due to risk of uterine rupture, however, it’s a pending discussion and they’re kind of just waiting to see if I’ll go into labor naturally. while im aware of the risks, this is something i really want and know that i can do, would you still recommend laboring at home for as long as possible to avoid the repeat c section? (I am 35 weeks pregnant, and unable to find a new provider)
Okay, but what if I know that I can’t handle pain very well and want to go for an epidural ? Does that automatically mean that there is a big chance having a C-section ? I can’t imagine that most woman who got the epidural had to go through this ?
It is a more natural induction option since it doesn’t use medication so it’s not technically unnatural. It should be reserved for when needed imo but it’s definitely an option women have.
Even in breech situations, C sections are not necessary! You just need to look for a trained midwife in breech presentations well in advance!! A lot of of complications could be avoided by a) having a healthy pregnancy b) being educated and prepared for births d) get a doula and midwife c) avoiding hospitals and give birth in birth centre or at home
Because baby’s heart rate will fluctuate during labor normally. Especially when mom is moving and changing positions and as the uterus contracts and relaxes. Imagine if you were in a sac and it was squeezing your whole body then relaxing from your entire body. That would cause your heart rate to fluctuate.
I didn’t know this until I watched my second baby’s heart rate it dropped off a few times but not enough to be concerned I wish I knew this the first time
We would never ignore a dropping HR but it usually comes back up. Contractions can cause a slight drop sometimes and when we get closer to pushing it can do the same thing. Our worry happens when it doesn’t come back up or if we don’t address the drop and change the potential reason that could be causing the drop.

Inductions can be used with twins and twins can also come spontaneously.
When I have a baby I want a home water birth, that's unmedicated and try do it painless with all the techniques available.
@ a working mama , why do they require pap-smears during prenatal doctors appoint in the first trimester
They shouldn’t or at least I’ve never heard that this is necessary
Is it possible for a woman who had myomectomy surgery to have a vagina delivery if she gets pregnant 10months post surgery? Please i need answers 🙏
How many weeks r u?
Do you think a sweep of the cervix is unnatrual?
It is a more natural induction option since it doesn’t use medication so it’s not technically unnatural. It should be reserved for when needed imo but it’s definitely an option women have.
Even in breech situations, C sections are not necessary! You just need to look for a trained midwife in breech presentations well in advance!! A lot of of complications could be avoided by a) having a healthy pregnancy b) being educated and prepared for births d) get a doula and midwife c) avoiding hospitals and give birth in birth centre or at home
100000000% agree!

After water break do not visit hospital, i dont get it , than what a lady should do?
Learn how to trust your body to know when it’s time to go or know warning signs if something is wrong.
My cervix swelled up do you think I could have avoided that if I had calmed down😂 I wasn’t ready to be kept at the hospital
I have a doula but I like to talk to other women about birth she’s been to a lot of births but I like different perspectives
Why would you ignore a dropping heart rate ? 😮
Just say no lol
