Thanks you three. More lovely countryside, a cool old ruin and dog friendly cafe with reasonable prices. It’s minus nine up here. Stay well and stay travels. 👍🐾🚐🐾😎
Glad you enjoyed it. Shame we never got to film more but that was the worst rain we've ever been out in filming and we've had some bad weather. Minus 9! And we thought we were cold with minus 2. Keep warm up there.😊
It was filmed a couple of weeks ago Paul, so we have freezing cold weather too. We've had some nice blue skies during the day but it's been really really cold.
That rain was relentless, but that log burner in the cafe looked very inviting, got to always love a good log burning fire 🙂Samantha was pissing herself at how close the motorhome was to the no camping sign 🤣The English Heritage building looked really nice, if only buildings today could stand the test of time like that has, so decorative too.
It was lovely in the National Trust cafe, so warm and cosy with the log burner and the hot choc was yummy too. The rain was really bad, some of the worst we've encountered. I know, lifted the blind and there was the sign lol. So many freebie EH buildings in Shropshire and this one is right by Ironbridge too.
As you said , very wet and windy but still beautiful. Glad you got a proper brownie an hot chocolate this time, and cheaper than the last time 😫 Hope you get the battery problem sorted . Take care Byyyeee 🚐👍
Hello Eric. Yes, very beautiful but the wind and rain was awful. But we shall return in better weather sometime and have another hot choc and brownie.😁 Batteries are sorted, we got new ones. Byyyeeeee😊
The chocolate brownie was lovely. Better than that rip off place in Ludlow that's for sure. It is a beautiful place and such a shame we didn't get to explore more.
Yeah I remember you going there too. Yep, one of those good old reliable spots that's fairly quiet with no aggro. It ain't half cold Richard. We've been killing the gas!
Death Valley my grandson calls it aa we often go up that steep hill to watch the gliders …. Our go to day out for lunch in Harry from the house Battery issue is a bugger when you don’t need to dry stuff
Lol, we were gutted we never got to walk so far but the rain was relentless. Always another time in better weather. Luckily it's not far but our go to place is normally Severn Valley Country Park. We'd go there when I lived in Bearwood in Smethwick and go now with the kids and dogs when we can.
Hi both 👋 Lovely scenery! You poor things, nothing worse than getting soaked to the skin & then having no heating or anywhere to dry them off! Helen, you looked thoroughly like you were living the dream in that rain clip 🤣🙈 The brownie looked good and almost half the price! Hope the battery issues are all sorted, these vans pick their moments! Hope all goes well at the funeral. ❤️🩹 Stay warm & dry! Em💛
It's a beautiful place and such a shame we never got to film more of it. We were so drenched. It was really windy and I had to hold my hood down and then the rain was running down my sleeves so I had wet armpits on my hoodie lol. The brownie was yummy as was the hot choc. Tastier and cheaper!
I’d have hidden too🤣A polite knock we can handle 😉 brownie looked yummy. Pleased you got a better deal. A winter paddle! You did get wet! Hard when heating doesn’t work properly trying to get stuff dry. Abbey looked really nice. Good luck with new batts
Thanks both. The batteries are doing good. Maybe we'll get lithium one day but not at the minute. Especially when other things decide they want to break lol.
At least you got the knock in the morning 🤣Proper chocolate brownie, and you looked like you were enjoying that Helen. That is a stunning place, will have to visit, but not when it's raining. That's almost what happened to us when our battery went, and its not fun in the cold weather with no heating 😱 Good old Henry 8th, destroying such beauty. That is an amazing floor...need to visit this as well, and free, even better 😍
Yeah, that is something and least we were up, but no way was I talking to them!😂 It is beautiful there and we'll film there again in better weather. Buildwas Abbey was better than we thought and that's the third EH freebie in Shropshire we've visited. And we have another couple on our list. Hope things are going OK for you two. Will catch up with your video later today.
Another lovely video ,hope you have the battery sorted ,mine packed up while on the Stornaway ferry a couple of years ago .I have friends living at Church Stretton so often get to the Shropshire hills and drive up the Burway onto the Mynd to watch the gliders, its a beautiful area.
No I wouldn`t attempt driving a motorhome like yours up there, but its certainly worth taking a car, there is a café at the glider station and the views are absolutely stunning, you could also go to Bridges then to Stiperstones and The Bog.
Might be worth a day out with the kids sometime and the dogs when we are at theirs. We've done some dodgy steep hills but steep and narrow isn't great lol.
Hi guys really enjoyed seeing the abbey, very impressive and imposing. Getting the knock is a shame but being next to the sign made us laugh, anyway hope the new battery is working out for you,and the funeral goes well 👍🚌🥰
The Abbey was great and nice to have a free one to visit too. They charge for some places that have less to offer. That's the third freebie in Shropshire we've visited and we've visited a free one in Yorkshire too. Couldn't believe it when I opened the blind in the morning lol. We did it somewhere else once too but if you arrive when it's dark you don't always see these things. Thanks for the best wishes. Much appreciated.
Awesome countryside again Helen, and your filming is still the best. Trying to think if I've been to Buildwas but might have been many years ago. Presume the batteries are sorted now so hope they are holding up in this cold. All the best (is that the right phrase?) for Monday. Take care
Aw, thanks for the compliment.😊 The batteries are holding out fine Martin thanks. Buildwas is very nice. There's also Lilleshall Abbey that is free. We've not been there yet but some of my ancestors came from Lilleshall. Not the Abbey though. Not posh like your ancestors lol. Thanks for the best wishes. Much appreciated.xx
Lovely scenery, shame it was so wet. Horrible having wet clothes and dog in the van in the winter. I love the music you choose for the videos, suits them really well. Hope your batteries arrive ok.
Thank you. Lots of people comment about my music choice. I think it's a really important part of the video and has to fit with what's happening Yeah, getting wet is so horrible when you have nowhere to dry stuff and towels everywhere and a dog to dry too. The batteries arrived and are fitted and doing well.😁
I made the mistake of going there in the height of summer 😂 you wanna talk busy??!! George plonked down in that ford and led there for 10 mins to cool down. You had a slightly different experience in that weather 😆It’s so gorgeous there though innit 😍
Lol, I can imagine it was rammed as we went when we first got the motorhome. It's a beautiful place but definitely always busy. Nook has a habit of doing that too when he's hot!🐕😁
Was that Leon's Grandad's dad was from the Clee Hill area. Lol. Recognised where you parked at Buildwass Abbey. Nice there innit! Cor look at all that rain! Don't get washed away Helen! Hope the new batteries are working better! KARL! WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! BUUUOOOYYYYYYYEEEEE! xxxxx
I have ancestors from the Clee Hill area too lol. On my Moms side of the family. What was their name Julie? Imagine if we were related😆 Buildwas is nice and better than first impressions. Batteries are working nicely thank you. Don't think we'll have any solar though as we have snow.

The snow stopped and turned to rain but that's stopped now too. Think my ancestors were Rudd. They moved to Dudley and became limestone miners from what I can remember. And one was a Potter with a shop in Dudley lol. You never know though, the families may have known each other. It's not the biggest of areas, especially in the olden days.😁
How indulgent, hot choc and brownie, yummy. You deserved a good one. I've given up on hot chocolate out, think too many use cold spray cream. As you said, beautiful views. Sopping wet, know it well 😕. Better that the batteries gave up on you then, rather than now with these freezing temperatures.
Yes completely agree, think the batteries conked at the best time so we have nice fresh new ones for the freezing weather. Some hot chocolates are luke warm and just not very nice. Theirs was very tasty.😋
Wet dog Wet cloths Wet vancampers You got to love vanlfe ehh No power in winter our worst nightmare ? Hope you sort Helen Take care lovely vlog both #teambrummies Hugs 👊🦋🦋👍🚐🐾🐾🐶😘
Hello Stephen. Your comments are always held for review. So annoying! Yeah, batteries were toast unfortunately. Hate getting soggy and that's the worst we've got so far. I normally manage to keep filming but had no chance. Take care both and enjoy your new adventure. #teambrummies 🥰🐕🥰😊
Hope those batteries on Monday help. Maybe an idea to give them a charge before fitting. We had a problem where the batteries were reading as discharged on the van meter but a check with a voltmeter showed they were good. Because the 12v electrical system was saying they were flat it switched out the batteries. We swapped out a self resetting fuse in the unit but also found a plug was not seated right on the unit. Awhile back but seems to have worked better since.
Yeah, Karl checked them with a multimeter when we got back to the kids and one was dead and one was OKish. New ones are working well but we had other issues when we got to the kids. Always something with us. It's like we're doomed lol.
Gorgeous! 😍 Your van still looked organised even though you called it a "laundrette!" 😂 Do you know if the National Trust in England has crossover patronage to the National Trust in Scotland? I know Historic Scotland has affiliated links with English Heritage where some benefits are recognised but unsure if the same with National Trust?
They do as we went in Brodick Castle on Arran with our regular National Trust membership. We're not in English Heritage although we probably should join, although there are a fair few free ones in Shropshire. That's the third we've been to now and I know of others.
I live in Shropshire and go to Carding Mill Valley a lot. Use my Scottish National Trust membership ( joined years ago in Glencoe ) to park there. Hike with scouts on the hills.
It's beautiful isn't it. We went a few years ago but wish we'd got to explore more this time but we'll go back in dryer weather. Shropshire is close for us with the kids being in Kidderminster and it really is a beautiful area.
