As far as cost goes, it all depends what you want. To me, the thing that stands out is how scruffy it is, marked up flooring, weeds on the pitch. Looks like the owners just can't be bothered. For that reason, I'm out 😬

    Hi Shaun/Lizzy
We’ve camped at Love2Stay a dozen or so times in our VW Camper & Motorhome. We really like the place and think it is great value off-season at £29 for a big pitch that is fully serviced with amazing facilities, including the best toilet/showers we have ever stayed in (and weve been around a bit), excellent little cafe/restaurant, spotless outdoor bar/dining area with large outdoor pool and hot-tubs, etc. Great safe onsite walks for dogs with nature trails, adventure areas and many activites for kids, outdoor movie nights and explore teams, canoeing and many, many more. Such a great pitch for £29 a night we think is amazingly good value. The whole site is maintained to a very high standard - grass cut and hedges trimmed regularly, large, heated spotless loos are kept gleaming too. The whole place is a credit to the industry. The prices do double when the kids are off, which is totally understandable, as its really not your typical “field and toilet block” site, it has so much more than that.
Additionally paying another £30 approx to hire a pitch with a massive awning (which granted looks a bit tatty in this particular instance) is totally optional for the handful of pitches offering it. But for the hundreds of great, fully serviced, large, tidy pitches available for £29 a night off-season (x2 school holidays), it offers great value considering what is provided in the overall package.
Its also next to its owner Salop Leisure caravan/camper/motorhome centre, with hundreds of vehicles, cofee room, service garage, shop, etc. Which is also very handy.
So please take it from a regular Love2Stay camper, whos stayed on several of their pitches (in fact were there for 2 days this Thurs/Friday (on a normal pitch) and looking forward to their takeaway (or eat in) stone-baked pizzas :) So after reading every single reply to this video, I felt I had to reply as the video feels a bit unfair as a reflection of the site. I know Sean and Lizzy are just giving an opinion on their experience and cost (for that pitch with awning included as extra) and I genuinely trust their judgement as they really are decent and honest people. I say that after watching every single video they have posted on their channel. So please forgive me for seemingly having a go, I really am not, but I do feel more than qualified to defend the site, being kind of a regular, We have been to many, many sites, from £12 to £59 and Love2Stay overall, is one of, if not the best value, and is the cleanest, best serviced site we have stayed at in our experience, though it does seem they may need to tidy up that particular pitch so I can understand some (not all) views. But please take it from us, this video really does not reflect the site as a whole.

I have literally just got back from this site today, it cost £222 for a 6 night stay on a 9m square fully serviced pitch with all this - WHAT'S INCLUDED● Full access to our outdoor natural swimming pool and communal hot tubs ● Full access to hot springs heated pool and beach area ● A fully serviced pitch complete with sensor activated light ● Water waste disposal - Direct into the drain via hose from your caravan ● Waste flushing tap Black waste disposal drain - you can empty your waste cassette directly into this drain - providing you use green chemical in your cassette ● Outdoor children’s play area ● Barefoot sensory trail ● 400m trim tail ● State of the art gym ● Enclosed dog walking area ● Enclosed dog agility course ● Dog wash ● Coarse Fishing Lake
So while this particular pitch wouldn't suit my wife & I, it would be ideal for a larger family or a group. We did have a look in these during our stay, had to wait a few days though as the three of them were pretty well fully occupied the whole week. Overall we were very happy with our stay at this site, I've paid a lot more money for a lot less facilities down South.

The pool and hot tub is really nice. They also provided outdoor furniture for the decking.

As you say for expanding families but for that price you can get self catering overseas somewhere easily. Also how much space do you need if you have a large motorhome, it's something different, but paying or renting a motorhome and then this on top, becomes very expensive, might as well get a static caravan.

Whoa! Junior is standing and cruising. I’ve always said you can tell how old the children in a home are by how far off the ground the Knick knacks are. Once they start cruising coffee tables and couches it has to take wings if you value those little things that make life comfy.
Ooooo! The next door guys have a killer outdoor room.
How in the world do dogs sleep so much? My little bullmastiff spent most of his last two years asleep. As long as I had food out for him I didn’t exist! This after he did such a great job guarding my wife while I was off camping by motorcycle.
Reminds me why I travel by myself. I’d do it for the wife and enjoy the whole nite. Oh no! It rained! In England! Whoda thunk it?

Good video, just show’s what people will pay.
Just look at the staycation stories that we are hearing about this year, one that stood out was a couple with disabled children, tried to book the house in Cornwall they have stayed at the last few years only to find it fully booked, they were used to paying top money because of the disability facilities the property had but were shocked to find the price for a ten day stay had risen to £12,000, and it was a similar story for other properties with disabled facilities in the area charging £15 - 18k for ten nights, so they stayed at home. They are hoping things return to normal next year. Think they could find a similar set in mainland Europe cheaper next year.

A superb park in general and £60 per night for a standard pitch isn’t too bad considering the quality of facilities.
But….the idea of the awning good, though could have been a little better kitted out I think… plus the lack of instructions to attach to motorhome and the faults let it down.
Safe travels in the new VW.

Lots of comments here about it being overpriced . It’s not overpriced , it’s more expensive because they have a swimming pool and hot tubs, restaurant etc . Price is per pitch not per person so for a large family ,it’s great value .
They have a fireworks night in November and that’s already fully booked so they have no problem filling the place at the current prices .
It’s not fair to compare Love2stay with a £15 CL site with nothing other than a tap and waste point . The more facilities available, the higher the price .

We tend to travel in our tiny little camper with a fairly large awning and luggage. When we get to our destination it's no problem setting everything up but it's a pain if just breaking a journey. So for an overnight I think this totally makes sense for us - if camping in the Lake District, Shrewsbury might make a reasonable stop on the way up from London, avoiding any need for unpacking and repacking everything...
Sounds like a nice site too with swimming pool etc, but I'd really want the issues you picked up sorted for £88...

I think it definitely depends on what you want from a holiday. It has a lot of facilities. We have just returned from a certain smart campsite in Chichester (vid coming soon 😉) that I think you have been to, and it was better kept and much tidier, but with zero facilities (no pool, etc) For next Aug, their most expensive pitch price is £135. Which for 'camping' is astronomical! I think we would like the facilities at Love2Stay, but would hope the grounds / grass etc would be better kept. Great insight though to this one 👍

It's expensive to begin with before the extra tent. But if you are already traveling with a caravan and want a vacation destination. It is very nice.
If your caravan has a side awning, you could deploy that "over" the gap.
And it does seem they gave you the broken one with bad seams and no back area (the poles and canvas are on the ground). That was rude.

  • @robwestley7370
    @robwestley7370 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sandra Westley you are paying for all the facilities that are there, they’ve put in a good deal of investment into the place. Normally you have an awning rail on your motor home that part of the awning would slide into. That Isabella awning would cost easy 4 to 5000 pounds so loads of dosh has been outplayed and it’s got to be paid for.

  • @BobEarnshawMoHo
    @BobEarnshawMoHo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

To connect the awning to the motorhome you'd probably need a Driveaway Awning connection kit - a figure of eight connector and canopy rail connector. The pitches look like you drive in rather than reverse in, which seems a little unusual. Thought the floor looked a little scruffy in the awning. Great facilities at the campsite, guess you're paying for that.

Morning all, I have to disagree with most on this, We used to go to Centerparcs when the kids were younger and have a look at the prices to stay there for a week now. The site is absolutely top quality and based on the centrparcs ideas where there are things and activities for the kids all on site and very much subsidised by the price. The facilities and extras in with that price are worth the cost I think. Having all that extra space for an extra £30 on top would be so nice. It was just an awning at the end of the day. I guess the industry caters for all levels but I rate Love2stay at the top end of the market.

I think it looks like a nice place. But what I don't like is a system where the everything appears to be monetised, everything is on the meter. You go on holiday to escape that feeling, not to worry about who is paying for the barbecue or whether we'll miss our 2 hour slot at the fire pit, have we got the correct change for a shower or the key fob for the washing-up hut. Some proprietors just don't get this.

Well, I disagree with the comments that suggest you are just providing negative comments. The issue seems to be, people are often pleased to take on board positive comments but then challenge the negative comments. The pitch is poorly maintained and the cost is high. We are local to Shrewsbury and Love2stay is five minutes from home. As mad as it sounds, if this was a value for money, well maintained site, we would take our T6 there for a couple of days occasionally. However, the word in Shrewsbury amongst the campers I know is, this is priced too high and not worth the money. We are in the south of France at the moment and even the local aires will give that place a run for their money. A fair and objective review from experienced camper/motor homers. Sorry Love2stay, the staff are lovely there but, these places exist on their reputation.

We had a week booked at Love2stay but we left after 3 nights, due to major issues with the disabled bathroom. We were refunded for the remaining nights we’d paid for, but then got an email telling us we owed them the money they’d refunded! We’d never go there again.

£88 is silly money. I would rather stay B&B in a hotel (and have 3 or 4 pints with the change) than spend that sort of money on a pitch.
By comparison, I've booked a week for 6 adults, a baby and 3 dogs in a farm house next month for £350 a week.

What a ridiculous price! All that to avoid a 6 hour drive, crazy, 6 hours is nothing. Before you say we have three small boys and regularly do things like Calais to Legoland Billund or Germany, both around 12 hours each.

I would not spend £60 a night for a pitch, never mind £88. Paying that sort of money just to get an awning you might as well just buy an awning - you have it for longer and take it where ever you want.

Scruffy sums the overall effect up. It's just not finished nor maintained to the luxury you would expect for the price, and that is before you get to the gimmee the cash now go fend for yourself customer service. I think my answer is no, and to the price for a basic pitch as the extras like spa we would never use.

    Definitely looks poorly maintained.
Please can you show what facilities were included for that price when you stayed.
I’m curious if it is £88 just for the pitch or whether the outdoor cooking, swimming etc is all included.
    Thanks

Been to Love 2 Stay and I have to say I think it is over priced. The touring field has no character. The washrooms looked great from afar but far from good (again basis this on pitch price). The activities were reasonably priced though. Shall not be returning anytime soon.

Not sold on the huge awning thing, but the facilities look good. I guess that is where the pitch cost really comes from. If I wanted to have a sofa, dining table and fire, I'd rent a cottage or stay at home to be honest. Bought our Cali to have a simpler time, not just change the scenery.

Sorry, but I would not **LOVE2STAY** at that campsite. The campsites here in Denmark offer better value for money. We have just come back form a campsite on Bornholm (Danish Island). Excellent facilites, plenty of room for our California plus awning plus a Berghaus inflatable shelter and a fraction of the cost. 😊🚐🇩🇰

Curtains right next to the fire? If it's just an electric fan and "lights" for flames OK - but first view had me concerned. Then £60 for a pitch - is that UK normal? Stay in a hotel next time.

We’d much rather have our own space outside to have our own,Fire pit and BBQ I expect your not allowed either as they want you to hire theirs.
Sound like a great site not with no instructions and equipment not fit for purpose!
