Keep in mind folks the Electro light doesnt work just anywhere: you have to be in a generally outdoor area to do it. Don't do it in dungeons and waste 40 minutes like I did.
I have had metal slimes many times in a row by using it on groups of those ham samwitch, also the happy hat and the slime crown is a guaranteed drop as you use hallelujah.
Good guide. :) Just a couple of things: 1) Jade's "Lighting Thrust" is better than "Thunder Thrust". 2) If you have Rab pepped as well, using his "Dirge of Dundrasil" has a pretty good chance of putting most/all of the metal slimes to sleep, buying you a lot of breathing room.
You should fight bongo bangos in champ sauvage, they like to keep summoning friends so after using hallelujeh(how ever its spelt) you can also kill a load off for extra exp while waiting for the next peps for electro light.
If you're in the part of the game where you can't access the first forest, just find enemies that only normal hit you and never use a spell. I was pretty far into second part of the game (Forging sword) and used this method with the tigers in the snaerfelt. I'm not quite sure the exact conditions for Pepping up, but im guessing your % goes up when you get hit so just guard against their normal attacks and use hustle dance on sylvando to heal up. Also if the timing of the pep ups aren't matched, keep in mind that you can switch the pepped up member into your reserve party and use rab/veronica/selena or whoever to replace them until your other characters pep up. I usually dont want to waste my pep pips on grinding here because it's reletively easy to just guard and wait, like 5-10 minutes to pep jade twice.
@@Varinz - not True, in DQ XI when using 4 Sword holders ALL with Metal Slash you can Defeat MOST metal slime family in just two Rounds or less, you Inflict 1p or 2p of Damage to Metal Slimes for each Attacker. you don't need any Special Magic , and you can use ERIC as well with Metal Slash knife Ability, RAB can inflict 1p damage as well with some Attacks.
Thank you very much! Got from LV 51 to 99 in 5-6 hours. It also really helped a lot to have Rab Pepped up to use his pep power “Dirge of Dundrasil” while Being accelerated by either Sylvando or Serena. He almost never misses to make all the slimes fall asleep 💤.
Thanks for vid! Just tried it at lvl 32. Took me 15minutes because Jade was taking forever to pep. 3 liquid slimes showed up, 1 ran away. So got 52k xp...well worth it.

For those who are playing in Draconiam Quest hard EXP: You can still use electrolight. Find a foe who gives full EXP, or at least half, and make sure you have 2+ foes in combat. Kill the high level foe, then use electrolight, it'll register the kill off them.
Bro, you need hallelujah. It is essential and you need to at least kill 2/3 of the metal slime. I got 2 levels minimum from this around mid 40s and manage to reach level 50 with 2 rotation of this method. Provided, I save once I have all these guys pep up and reload if robots are spawned instead of metal slime. Hope this helps. It netted me around 100,000 exp around my level. I spawned 2 metal slime and 1 liquid metal slime every time I did this. Also I did this after the "big event" mid-game which causes all monster to become a stronger version of themselves (red glowing eyes and what not).
Spoiler alert!!!! It is about the mid-late game read on if you do not mind it. I did at the floating island where you are supposed to get the ore for crafting the "ultimate" weapon. Right outside the save point (4th level/floor), there is a point where there are 2 dragon riders. One of them which you could kill and ride on it. When you engage them, there is a chance they will come with a red color knight in armour, if you kill everyone and keep him alive while blocking and waiting to pep up, he will keep calling floating slimes which can help with the EXP received at the end (due to hallelujah which increases your exp by percentage if I am not mistaken). The pep rate up talent in the skill trees helps, I think it is 5% increase rate for pep up. For hero just get the skill for pep up in the luminary tree. I kinda timed it, it took me about 4-5 minutes to get the required members to pep up. After casting hallelujah, it took me another 4 minutes or so to pep Hero, Jade (Martina) and Slyvando (Slyvia) up. At level 50 metal slime king started appearing for me. To further illustrate, yesterday I managed to kill one metal slime king and one metal slime (one metal slime ran away before I could kill it), it netted me about 170,000 or so I think (memory fuzzy here) which allows my party to go from 50-52ish. Hope this helps.
Dont use thunder thrust with jade, its significantly lower accuracy than her other ability lightning thrust which is basically the same thing. You can also give her a spear that damages metal foes and use multi thrust.
Another tip is if/when your getting all the req characters pepped up and/or you don't have or want to use pep pip items, if you have one thats already in pep up mode, take them out of the active line up until the other(s) are ready. That way you're not wasting their pep up time and you can bring them back in when needed.

Great guide, but honestly, I’ve used this strat over and over. Both hallelujah and electro light together and have spawned the stupid mech mobs instead. The only time I can get any slimes at all is if I just use electro light. And with the time invested in getting everyone pepped up only to have at least one of the slimes run away, it’s just more efficient to level in an area where the mobs are of similar level to my current characters. I have no doubt this is great when it works and all the stars align, but so far for me, I’ve gained a grand total of 3 levels from it in 4 hours now.
ndublh Saving the game is all well and good if all you want to do is use Electro Light. But if you intend on using the hallelujah and electro light combo you need to pep twice. This makes saving the game before each attempt only a slight convenience.
adavis1129 put Jade as the first person in your party, have all four pepped, swap sylvando out of party, start battle, use hallelujah, wait until jade gets pepped up (if she's first she should get targeted more often and if you have all her pep chance skills (and put any pep chance up equipment you may have on her as well), shouldn't take to long, if luminary isn't pepped by then, use pep-up and swap in slyvando for electro light. Only Jade needs to be pepped "traditionally" twice. Once you get to seeing metal slime kings you can start to use the pep pips when you get them on Jade and pep-up on luminary after hallelujah and do electro light right away. More than likely if it's being inefficient, you're either in the wrong area for it, or you may need to raise a few levels the old fashioned way to reach some more of those pep chance up panels. The rest is luck, unfortunately.
same for me, Im level 65 ish and each time I use both pep skills I get the damned metal robots, maybe when you are in the 60s it does that to make leveling harder? who knows.
I actually think we can reach Lv99 naturally in DQ11. Comparing to other DQ games, you can get a lot of experience points from monsters, and you'll find that you're already Lv99 when you complete the monster list. In fact I feel sad about that the metal type monsters lose their values after that. I hoped more EXPs needed for Lv99 with a higher status of each character (like Veronica's MP as high as Ashlynn's in DQ6, it becomes 990 without a job).
All my characters are at about level 49 and I’ve tried Electro Light about 8 times now and every time I’ve gotten those other monsters instead of metal slimes. Please help lol.
This is an old comment, but I want to help. You always have to save before performing Electro Light (pick a location of monsters near the statue/camp), so everytime you got the wrong enemies. You can simply close the game and back to the last save you made. Save tons of time rather than pepping the members again.
Hardcore Gamer - all Dragon Quest fans know to farm Metal Slimes , where you can ZOOM to or to Sail to, sometimes waiting until Night to get better Metal Slimes. also, you forgot to mention using Metal Slash and stacking Critical Hits to inflict Damage on Metal Slimes.
You might be fighting too weak of opponents. I believe you will pep faster if an enemy does a decent amount of damage to you. Perhaps try fighting stronger enemies while doing this so they can actually do some decent damage to you. Then simply heal when you need to. This should speed up the Pep process.

No idea if I will be doing this eventually as I'm only level 60 currently and just starting post game and would not look to hit 99 until I had finished everything else but out of curosity, how/when do you learn that particular pep skill? cant remember seeing it as of yet. can jade not use lightning thrust by the way for higher hit chance or does it not kill in one.
I wonder if the devs overlook things like this or put these complex combos in to games for people to find and gossip. it's like the 30k shield thats stealable from the forest hoop monsters, that just seems broken and not sure why it would be put there. its almost like an offer to people saying "if you cant be arsed to grind gold and dont want to cheat, we will leave this for you"
I found a neat trick for slimes running , Rab has a pep that 100% puts all mobs to sleep and yes slimes too, a few times one slime might not get affected and run.
Why i dont see one metal king slime with this metod? I finish the game with liv. 99 with this metod but with another run, i dont see metal king slime malis. Why? Upgrade?
I saw another video on youtube that these metal kings are in an island in the game. When you gwt to the island the metal kings are everywhere. Also they are regular slimes there to.
heres one thing you should do, also get rab pepped up. switch him out with sylvando afterwards. him and hero will send the slimes to sleep making it much easier to crit down
Not really, you just have to be patient. It will be more effecient if you perform Hallellujah before Electro Light, double the exp and gold, also guarentee the goods.
What content did you suppose was going to be in this game though? DQ has always been a JRPG with no flashy ADHD stuff. Please don't ruin this series like FF or Tales.

The sheer amount extra content and post-game stuff is longer than the base game times two, and could take nearly a WEEK 100 precenting. But Dragon Quest 8, 9 and 10 have had INSANE amounts of extra game content as well. This guy is talking ignorant shit out of his ass. Also what the fuck does ADHD have to do with anything? I don't even think he knows what the fuck "Attention Definict Hyperacticvity Disorder" even MEANS, since the bizarre context he used it in is completely wrong. And to top it all off he doesn't even know anything about Dragon Quest's REPUTATION for extra game content, before he shoots off his mouth with statements that are objectively wrong. Great guide. I'm in the end game and went from high 60s to 99 in 1.5 hours. If you are in the endgame and are doing this in the First Forrest as the video suggests, use one pep pip per battle when useful as you earn one after almost every battle. Also, kill all but one enemy to speed up the defend-until-pepped process. Also, before the grind, I crafted a bunch of Angel's Sandals to up agility for everyone. This probably isn't necessary, but they are cheap and easy to make.
Leveling in DQ11 is literally the EASIEST TIME with Leveling in DQ I've ever experienced.... without post game or Erik's Pep Power... just the Hero, Jade and Sylvando one.
This is great but just wanna give people the heads up I have been getting metal king slimes every time and I’m in the mid 50s and when I started this process at lvl 45 metal king slimes have always been present
I agree. For me, it started around level 48. After which, I keep getting metal slime king. Not sure, if the location matters, but I did it at the later part of the game after gathering "everyone" and going to somewhere.
The regular metal slime family show up before 50, after 50 their powered up "Vicious" forms(glowing red eye) show up, but I don't know if the vicious monsters show up before "that" major story event or if they only show up after.
Hey I just got the game on Black Friday. I wanted to get when it came out but wasn't able to. I've been playing it for the last 2 weeks. I didn't play it right away cuz, I was playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen order I remember wanting to play Dragon Warrior on the NES back in the days never got around to doing so. Been playing for well over a hundred hours I'm the type of man that just jumps into things without taking the time to reading and following the instructions I say that to say this I didn't know that you can press R2 and run LOL. I stumbled onto it by accident somewhere near the end of the post game go figure should have read the instructions right you don't have to say it I know that's what you're thinking. Just once. The Hallelujah pep power might have some randomness to its exp multiplier. The near-million EXP I got was from the exact same enemies I was facing in the video so I assume it's just the luck of the draw.
I was at insula occidentalis and used Only with electrolight, i never tried Hallelujah, and my leveling was already really fast, with the two pep powers it would'vr surely gone hyper fast. Also, for jade, i recommand lightning wrath which cost more, but has better chances to succeed
This has never worked for me. I am around level 75 and it ALWAYS fails to give me metal slimes. ALWAYS. There has not been one time when I got metal slimes from it.
Are you playing 11s or vanilla? I don't know if they changed it there but on the ps4 version I remember leveling from 50 to around 90 in three or four hours, it worked like a charm. I'm playing 11s now and came to look this up again, would be a shame if they adjusted it somehow.
Just wondering I have the Draconian Quest for less exp switched on am I still going to be able to be able to do this if I ever decide I want to max out my party or will I have to switch the quest off?
This is very helpful especially since I've been playing this game non-stop and I should be at the point where I get best girl and Rab. Anyway, definitely will be using this if I feel the urge to want to make my characters go up to 99.
The problem with this game is that level 99 by itself is easily obtained but it doesn’t grant you anything. The hardest bosses need a lot of extra work and grinding.

Zuskai if you haven't found out already, your party will be restored to their respective levels. Except for Veronica, who in my case was a little stronger than the rest of my party. So no need to grind!
Do the Metal Kings only drop Pep Pips in the postgame and do the metal slimes give more exp at higher levels? I've been getting a metal king and 2 vicious liquid metal slimes since around level 50. Everyone except Serena is level 70+, but even with hallelujah I've never gotten a pep pip or anything over 200,000-300,000 exp per fight.
I’m right there with ya. I don’t know why but this game was enjoyable up until postgame, I had no problems with grinding in the past playing other jrpgs and the like but for whatever reason I lose interest doing it in this game very fast.

Does the enemies level with you? I've been grinding levels in this one area for 2 hours and it seems the enemies still hit just as hard. The area in question is Gallopolis. Everyone in my party including sylvando is level 16 and it just feels like i've been grinding for no reason. Have all their weapons at +3 but it still seems like it takes a while to kill just one enemy.
Why don't you use the other critical ability of Jade instead of Thunder Thrust ? I don't know the name cause i'm french but it's pretty much the same attack with an other animation ( may be lightning thrust ? ) and has a higher critical chance ?
there is a better place to level your chars but you cna only reach him if you already have the flying whale, in this forest you will encounter metalhands and bloodhands alot they alwways summon other hands
How does this work with the no exp from weak enemies? Even if you get kings, you get no EXP unless you kill an enemy before you summon slimes that would give exp.
I know this comment is old but to anyone with the same question: You'll have to either turn it off or only do it after you start getting metal king slimes but good luck getting there.
I don't know man, I've tried the method and it just seems wayy to inconsistent. The pep modes keep missing each other for me. Been trying for 30 minutes without having the right three in pep mode.

i HATE guarding till they pep up, it feels like it takes FOREVER, its what makes the battles mundane for me. I know i can use pep pop but like they arent cheap

dude this is pretty easy to find on your own, once i figured it out it took me 2 hours to level from 60 to 99.... wanted to level a bit for the final boss and he didnt have a fucking chance.
Worst part about this method is just waiting for pep up especially jade since she needs to do it twice. I have her pep up chance (which I honestly think it doesn’t do much) don’t have the item since I’m not post game
You can use the Hallelujah power fairly early on and I think I was able to use Electro Light not long after. I don't think you need special skills, you just need Erik, Sylvando, and Jade. But you can't get Erik's Critical Claim skill until after the big moment he referred to in the video. So the real problem isn't summoning the metal slimes, it's being able to actually kill them after all that work. About 2/3 through the main plot you should be able to do this pretty reliably and you don't really need to do it until endgame so you can put it off if the metal slimes give you trouble.
This is ALOT tougher than it looks, the damn metal slimes always get the first move and just run away after using electro light. I haven’t had any success doing this method. I think just farming normal enemies is still faster
For people who have problems with slimes running away, have Sylvando use Accelratle in the downtime while waiting for people to get pepped up. Always keep your party at +2 speed. I have had success killing 2 or 3 of the slimes when my party is Accelratled depending on the RNG. I know the person I am replying to likely no longer needs help because their comment is 7 months old, but this is advice for anyone still playing the game who is stuck with fleeing slimes.
You should get some Pep Pips throughout the story, but also at the casino. They're a little expensive but it's not too difficult to earn tokens (slot machines are best, or do Richie's Rock-Hard Roulette Challenge side quest in Octagonia which gives you a million for winning).

It'll slowly drain. Look down at your character's portrait and if it's blinking/breathing blue, that usually means their pep is going to go away in the next turn or two. If that happens you can just switch them out mid-battle for someone else to preserve it.
I can't get back into the first forrest for some reason. I beat the first part of the game but not the true ending. Are you only allowed to go back there after beating the true ending?
Veronica, scarificed herself to save Everyone else, she is now Dead, and you have to find all your Team members, in doing so you have to fight a BOSS in order to retrieve one of the Orbs.
His metal king was vicious. Idk when they start showing up cause I'm LVL 80 and haven't seen one yet. But I also believe hallelujah boosts your exp between a range so if you hit a good range you can get much more exp after battle.

Might want to differentiate between Regular metal type slimes and Viscious metal type sliimes. The latter gives 3x the experience each.

Either you are very unlucky or I am just very lucky. I did this for ~1.5 hours and got more than 20 lvl. Good luck mate.
Dude, just pep your characters, save the game and retry. You don’t have to keep on trying to pep them
ndublh Saving the game is all well and good if all you want to do is use Electro Light. But if you intend on using the hallelujah and electro light combo you need to pep twice. This makes saving the game before each attempt only a slight convenience.
adavis1129 put Jade as the first person in your party, have all four pepped, swap sylvando out of party, start battle, use hallelujah, wait until jade gets pepped up (if she's first she should get targeted more often and if you have all her pep chance skills (and put any pep chance up equipment you may have on her as well), shouldn't take to long, if luminary isn't pepped by then, use pep-up and swap in slyvando for electro light. Only Jade needs to be pepped "traditionally" twice.
Once you get to seeing metal slime kings you can start to use the pep pips when you get them on Jade and pep-up on luminary after hallelujah and do electro light right away.
More than likely if it's being inefficient, you're either in the wrong area for it, or you may need to raise a few levels the old fashioned way to reach some more of those pep chance up panels. The rest is luck, unfortunately.
same for me, Im level 65 ish and each time I use both pep skills I get the damned metal robots, maybe when you are in the 60s it does that to make leveling harder? who knows.

I actually think we can reach Lv99 naturally in DQ11. Comparing to other DQ games, you can get a lot of experience points from monsters, and you'll find that you're already Lv99 when you complete the monster list. In fact I feel sad about that the metal type monsters lose their values after that. I hoped more EXPs needed for Lv99 with a higher status of each character (like Veronica's MP as high as Ashlynn's in DQ6, it becomes 990 without a job).
All my characters are at about level 49 and I’ve tried Electro Light about 8 times now and every time I’ve gotten those other monsters instead of metal slimes. Please help lol.
This is an old comment, but I want to help. You always have to save before performing Electro Light (pick a location of monsters near the statue/camp), so everytime you got the wrong enemies. You can simply close the game and back to the last save you made. Save tons of time rather than pepping the members again.
Hardcore Gamer - all Dragon Quest fans know to farm Metal Slimes , where you can ZOOM to or to Sail to, sometimes waiting until Night to get better Metal Slimes.
also, you forgot to mention using Metal Slash and stacking Critical Hits to inflict Damage on Metal Slimes.
It takes so so long to get all the characters pepped up like this. This video makes it seem really easy but it takes absolutely ages
You might be fighting too weak of opponents. I believe you will pep faster if an enemy does a decent amount of damage to you. Perhaps try fighting stronger enemies while doing this so they can actually do some decent damage to you. Then simply heal when you need to. This should speed up the Pep process.
you can use Rab's Dirge Of Dundrasil to put the slimes to sleep. then just use Erik's ability to one shot them.

No idea if I will be doing this eventually as I'm only level 60 currently and just starting post game and would not look to hit 99 until I had finished everything else but out of curosity, how/when do you learn that particular pep skill? cant remember seeing it as of yet. can jade not use lightning thrust by the way for higher hit chance or does it not kill in one.
I wonder if the devs overlook things like this or put these complex combos in to games for people to find and gossip. it's like the 30k shield thats stealable from the forest hoop monsters, that just seems broken and not sure why it would be put there. its almost like an offer to people saying "if you cant be arsed to grind gold and dont want to cheat, we will leave this for you"
I found a neat trick for slimes running , Rab has a pep that 100% puts all mobs to sleep and yes slimes too, a few times one slime might not get affected and run.
Why i dont see one metal king slime with this metod? I finish the game with liv. 99 with this metod but with another run, i dont see metal king slime malis. Why?

I saw another video on youtube that these metal kings are in an island in the game. When you gwt to the island the metal kings are everywhere. Also they are regular slimes there to.
I forgot that there is a defend option when you a character goes pep power. Now I won't be changing line ups every pep powered character.
That still takes pep power away tho
heres one thing you should do, also get rab pepped up. switch him out with sylvando afterwards. him and hero will send the slimes to sleep making it much easier to crit down

Not really, you just have to be patient. It will be more effecient if you perform Hallellujah before Electro Light, double the exp and gold, also guarentee the goods.

This "LOLhahaha" guy is a fucking idiot. This game has TONS of extra content, and this game is INCREDIBLY packed with it. The sheer amount extra content and post-game stuff is longer than the base game times two, and could take nearly a WEEK 100 precenting. But Dragon Quest 8, 9 and 10 have had INSANE amounts of extra game content as well. This guy is talking ignorant shit out of his ass. Also what the fuck does ADHD have to do with anything? I don't even think he knows what the fuck "Attention Definict Hyperacticvity Disorder" even MEANS, since the bizarre context he used it in is completely wrong. And to top it all off he doesn't even know anything about Dragon Quest's REPUTATION for extra game content, before he shoots off his mouth with statements that are objectively wrong. Great guide. I'm in the end game and went from high 60s to 99 in 1.5 hours. If you are in the endgame and are doing this in the First Forrest as the video suggests, use one pep pip per battle when useful as you earn one after almost every battle. Also, kill all but one enemy to speed up the defend-until-pepped process. Also, before the grind, I crafted a bunch of Angel's Sandals to up agility for everyone. This probably isn't necessary, but they are cheap and easy to make.
Nice video but one thing i will say is that you should use lightning thrust instead of thunder thrust it is the same thing except it hits a lot more

Leveling in DQ11 is literally the EASIEST TIME with Leveling in DQ I've ever experienced.... without post game or Erik's Pep Power... just the Hero, Jade and Sylvando one.

This is great but just wanna give people the heads up I have been getting metal king slimes every time and I’m in the mid 50s and when I started this process at lvl 45 metal king slimes have always been present
I agree. For me, it started around level 48. After which, I keep getting metal slime king. Not sure, if the location matters, but I did it at the later part of the game after gathering "everyone" and going to somewhere.
The regular metal slime family show up before 50, after 50 their powered up "Vicious" forms(glowing red eye) show up, but I don't know if the vicious monsters show up before "that" major story event or if they only show up after.
Hey I just got the game on Black Friday. I wanted to get when it came out but wasn't able to. I've been playing it for the last 2 weeks. I didn't play it right away cuz, I was playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen order I remember wanting to play Dragon Warrior on the NES back in the days never got around to doing so. Been playing for well over a hundred hours I'm the type of man that just jumps into things without taking the time to reading and following the instructions I say that to say this I didn't know that you can press R2 and run LOL. Just once. The Hallelujah pep power might have some randomness to its exp multiplier. The near-million EXP I got was from the exact same enemies I was facing in the video so I assume it's just the luck of the draw.

I was at insula occidentalis and used Only with electrolight, i never tried Hallelujah, and my leveling was already really fast, with the two pep powers it would'vr surely gone hyper fast. Also, for jade, i recommand lightning wrath which cost more, but has better chances to succeed
This has never worked for me. I am around level 75 and it ALWAYS fails to give me metal slimes. ALWAYS. There has not been one time when I got metal slimes from it.
Are you playing 11s or vanilla? I don't know if they changed it there but on the ps4 version I remember leveling from 50 to around 90 in three or four hours, it worked like a charm.
I'm playing 11s now and came to look this up again, would be a shame if they adjusted it somehow.

Just wondering I have the Draconian Quest for less exp switched on am I still going to be able to be able to do this if I ever decide I want to max out my party or will I have to switch the quest off?
You'll be fine. Electro Light always summons "level appropriate" enemies, so they'll never be low enough level to not give exp.
This is very helpful especially since I've been playing this game non-stop and I should be at the point where I get best girl and Rab. Anyway, definitely will be using this if I feel the urge to want to make my characters go up to 99.

The problem with this game is that level 99 by itself is easily obtained but it doesn’t grant you anything. The hardest bosses need a lot of extra work and grinding.
I know this is probably a stupid question but, can you switch members out to level them up too or are they levelled even when they aren't in battle?
Everyone gains the same exp regardless

Zuskai if you haven't found out already, your party will be restored to their respective levels. Except for Veronica, who in my case was a little stronger than the rest of my party. So no need to grind!

Do the Metal Kings only drop Pep Pips in the postgame and do the metal slimes give more exp at higher levels? I've been getting a metal king and 2 vicious liquid metal slimes since around level 50. Everyone except Serena is level 70+, but even with hallelujah I've never gotten a pep pip or anything over 200,000-300,000 exp per fight.
damn still need to get critical claim. I've had a great time but the post game is a bit too much grinding for my tastes.
I’m right there with ya. I don’t know why but this game was enjoyable up until postgame, I had no problems with grinding in the past playing other jrpgs and the like but for whatever reason I lose interest doing it in this game very fast.

Jade needs lightning thrust. It’s same as thunder thrust but higher chance of landing I think it’s like 3/4
Does the enemies level with you? I've been grinding levels in this one area for 2 hours and it seems the enemies still hit just as hard. The area in question is Gallopolis. Everyone in my party including sylvando is level 16 and it just feels like i've been grinding for no reason. Have all their weapons at +3 but it still seems like it takes a while to kill just one enemy.

No its just a spike in that area and after. Think of Gallopolis as taking off the training wheels.
the ezst n safest normal grinding up to lv 45 is at the tiny island above the strand. groups of bunnies give u 5k exp (post game)
Why don't you use the other critical ability of Jade instead of Thunder Thrust ? I don't know the name cause i'm french but it's pretty much the same attack with an other animation ( may be lightning thrust ? ) and has a higher critical chance ?
there is a better place to level your chars but you cna only reach him if you already have the flying whale, in this forest you will encounter metalhands and bloodhands alot they alwways summon other hands
How does this work with the no exp from weak enemies? Even if you get kings, you get no EXP unless you kill an enemy before you summon slimes that would give exp.
I know this comment is old but to anyone with the same question: You'll have to either turn it off or only do it after you start getting metal king slimes but good luck getting there.

I don't know man, I've tried the method and it just seems wayy to inconsistent. The pep modes keep missing each other for me. Been trying for 30 minutes without having the right three in pep mode.
switch the ones you want to keep pepped to the inactive or "back row". makes it SOOOO much easier.
Pep powers rarely ever happen even with pep chance up on any of them they never get it

Yep, same for me, and I'm doing Hallelujah beforehand. I also started running into Metal King Slimes at level 50. Still, topping out just under 300k...not that that's bad.

dude this is pretty easy to find on your own, once i figured it out it took me 2 hours to level from 60 to 99.... wanted to level a bit for the final boss and he didnt have a fucking chance.
Worst part about this method is just waiting for pep up especially jade since she needs to do it twice. I have her pep up chance (which I honestly think it doesn’t do much) don’t have the item since I’m not post game
At which point in the game can you do this method?
You can use the Hallelujah power fairly early on and I think I was able to use Electro Light not long after. I don't think you need special skills, you just need Erik, Sylvando, and Jade. But you can't get Erik's Critical Claim skill until after the big moment he referred to in the video. So the real problem isn't summoning the metal slimes, it's being able to actually kill them after all that work. About 2/3 through the main plot you should be able to do this pretty reliably and you don't really need to do it until endgame so you can put it off if the metal slimes give you trouble.

This is ALOT tougher than it looks, the damn metal slimes always get the first move and just run away after using electro light. I haven’t had any success doing this method. I think just farming normal enemies is still faster
For people who have problems with slimes running away, have Sylvando use Accelratle in the downtime while waiting for people to get pepped up. Always keep your party at +2 speed. I have had success killing 2 or 3 of the slimes when my party is Accelratled depending on the RNG. I know the person I am replying to likely no longer needs help because their comment is 7 months old, but this is advice for anyone still playing the game who is stuck with fleeing slimes.
Where do you get the pep pip?
You should get some Pep Pips throughout the story, but also at the casino. They're a little expensive but it's not too difficult to earn tokens (slot machines are best, or do Richie's Rock-Hard Roulette Challenge side quest in Octagonia which gives you a million for winning).
No pep pips at both casinos.

A question, If I don't attack when they are blue will they stay blue ? By don't attack I mean Defense
It'll slowly drain. Look down at your character's portrait and if it's blinking/breathing blue, that usually means their pep is going to go away in the next turn or two. If that happens you can just switch them out mid-battle for someone else to preserve it.
I can't get back into the first forrest for some reason. I beat the first part of the game but not the true ending. Are you only allowed to go back there after beating the true ending?
Veronica, scarificed herself to save Everyone else, she is now Dead, and you have to find all your Team members, in doing so you have to fight a BOSS in order to retrieve one of the Orbs.
I only get like 350k most of the time from a King metal and 2 liquids with the hallelujah pep. How did get get 900k?
His metal king was vicious. Idk when they start showing up cause I'm LVL 80 and haven't seen one yet. But I also believe hallelujah boosts your exp between a range so if you hit a good range you can get much more exp after battle.
