I am a PhD Chemical Engineer who recently retired from a rewarding career where I designed and commercialized sub-components for products such as disinfecting and industrial wipes, bio-degrable wipes, disposable diapers, protective medical fabrics, filters, and building insulation. These product designs and commercializations required developing expertise in man-made fiber, natural fibers, wood pulp, water soluble adhesives, hot melt adhesives, superabsorsent polymers, surfactants, fiber coatings, engineered fabric process design, injection molding, and a dozen different processes for bonding fibers into engineered fabrics. If a career in the company’s spotlight with a tremendous range of products and processes appeals to you then definitely consider chemical engineering. Always remember that college last four years, graduate school lasts four years, but your career will be for up to forty years. It’s better to be stressed for four years than depressed for forty years.

Hii, I’m interested in cosmetic products development (skincare and makeup) but in my country this major doesn’t exist, so i thought about majoring in chemical engineering… do you think it makes sense? So then after graduating I can be a product developer?
I’m so glad you shared your experience on youtube, because mine is literally the same . Even the smallest details . They way I chose chem eng was just for no reason in particular just like you and I was good at maths and science and heard you make lots of money out of it so i thought why not. Again I didn’t have an insight as a teenager to make that kind of life changing decision. Also I suffered from mental health problems going onto my second year of uni . I ended kp repeating a year . Failed some modules throughout my journey which further enhanced the anxiety. I procrastinated a-lot didn’t enjoy it, felt stupid most times and I failed module at my last year didn’t get honors. By the last year I just wanted it to end I reached a point I didn’t care about the grades. I wanted to survive throughout because I literally felt like I couldn’t breath all time. That was my experience.
All I can say now is that working in supply chain can get really challenging, but having all the training from studying chemical engineering - and of course the way of thinking that you must have developed - will turn out to be pretty useful. You might not get to apply your classroom lessons, but you will need the same (and even more) grit and critical thinking that you used to survive chemical engineering. Plus, new learnings every day. Lots of opportunities to hone your skillsets if you find the right job.

you are so right that God allows us to take certain paths. the uni I previously went to was a top university, the number 1 in my country. but after 2 years, I was faced with a decision to leave because I wanted to change majors and the program was so restrictive it didn't allow me to change. making that decision was the hardest thing I had to do in my life, but when I thought about why it was such a hard decision for me, I realized it was because I attended the school to "prove myself" to others- to prove that I was smart. I was very insecure and the school only exacerbated that; I felt below all my peers and didn't make the grades that I wanted. on top of that, I felt that ppl would tell me to just stay at the uni and graduate in something I didn't want to major in, simply because of the name of the uni, the clout it brings, and possible career ventures. but now, I have learned a lot about why God sent me there and put me through that. I would not have been able to address the insecurities that have been engrained in me since early childhood. Leaving the school allowed me to work on a huge rock that was blocking my life, and I thank God for that. I am at a much smaller university now, pursuing materials science and engineering, but I am happy knowing that I can excel anywhere God puts me.

Hello, I’m not sure about the specific process when it comes to UP, but as far as I know from old classmates who studied in UP, you can shift and you can still be an “irregular” student and have Latin honors (as long as you don’t fail a subject). ☺️
Guys!!!!!! I just noticed there’s no ring on her finger!! It’s been a year since the video was posted-please tell me I still have a shot at her!!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You need discipline to study chemical engineering, subjects such as Physical Chemistry, Chemical Thermodynamics, and unit operations. For those that lacks chemistry, mathematics, and physics my advise don't pursue this field. I was lucky my school in the Philippines offered a good curriculum to fulfill my dreams. I worked as an engineer for the last 35 years and had no regrets.
Petrochemical engineering, I would suppose, focuses on a particular industry involving petrochemicals or oil and gas in general. This link may help: leverageedu.com/blog/petrochemical-engineering/
I studied Mechanical Engineering for 2 years before shifting to Chemical engineering just this semester, I have a classmate who was a consistent honor student during his high school days and graduated valedictorian, literally our first quiz he got a score of 6/40..... that's when I started asking myself "What did I just got my self into" hahahahahaahaha
Hey hope you dont mind me asking, why did you end up switching? Also how are you feeling now in regards to your decision? Thanks, Im considering this field :)
So far I'm doing great, quite motivated 'cause I get to work/study in laboratories which is very exciting. Although I love Mechanical Engineering, it wasn't my first choice, I considered Aeronautical and Electrical Engineering. A lot of factors were involved on why I shifted to Chemical Engineering but I guess the main reasons would be my love for Chemistry, working not only in front of computers all day but using my hands doing all sorts of stuff, and because I found out that the more challenging the courses, the more I thrive.
Just here to tell you that Chemistry in ChE is just like a tasting session. There's more Math than Chemistry and lab sessions won't be as numerous later down the road... you should ready your Perry's if you're set for this course. However, if you really think you like it then that's a really good start. Best wishes!

Hi! Don’t worry! Watch Part 2 of this video. I give 30 tips for ChE here: th-cam.com/video/aJsOwfdsiqA/w-d-xo.html
Nice 👍 your spoke 😘👍👍🙂
I hink i need this course
Late na, 4th year na ako😭😭😭😭
bae, i just want to share, naka pass ako ng chem eng sa UPD but i dont really like the course, i p[rioritize the campusn over the course, is it possible to shift ba? kapag ganun ba irregula student ka na then hindi ka na makaka latin honors?
Hello, I’m not sure about the specific process when it comes to UP, but as far as I know from old classmates who studied in UP, you can shift and you can still be an “irregular” student and have Latin honors (as long as you don’t fail a subject). ☺️
I like your faith in Christ. God bless you. All things work together for our good.
God bless you, too! Indeed, Romans 8:28!
I worked as an engineer for the last 35 years and had no regrets.
school reveal pls 😭

Tomorrow is my interview and I'm listening but it's for scholarship 😂

Nice
What is the difference between petrochemical and chemical engineering.
Petrochemical engineering, I would suppose, focuses on a particular industry involving petrochemicals or oil and gas in general. This link may help: leverageedu.com/blog/petrochemical-engineering/

Hi l, how old are you tho?
Ok so it basically causes environmental issues in the world 🌎,
Btw I'm a 1st year btech chemical engineering student from NIT HAMIRPUR
@@sven6345sorry for writing this one year later but your comment peaked my interest. Did you graduate from Chemical engineering? I'm thinking of applying.
Is it required na magaling kang magdrawing?
Not at all!
For a sec I thought it said My Chemical Engineering Romance.
nice
Oil and gas pays well tho😁
It really depends on the company and the position 😅
@@kimtrospect yeh, I guess. All I know is that marathon pays well before they take off for taxes
Here I am, a chemistry graduate wanting to study Chem Eng 😂
