- During the 2021 Vernasca Silver Flag, I've filmed the brand new Kimera EVO37 restomod in action on the roads together with the Lancia 037, both in the version Stradale and Rally, from which it has been inspired.

I love these modern homages to beautiful classics, the new Stratos, the singer 911s, the eagle speedster, the alfaholics GTA-Rs, if I was amongst the super wealthy these are the things that would be in my garage, couldn't care less about the new Ferraris and Lambos.
Ok so these are not originals but recreations? What about the engines?

@@e.r.6147 Depends on the model, some as mentions are restomods of the original engines, but the new Stratos for example is actually a rebodied Ferrari F430 with a shortened wheelbase.

I wouldn't mind at all putting this in my name and spending the rest of my life paying it off. Kimera is a very beautiful car. The way it makes me feel reading and looking at it is priceless
We are in the Re-creation Era. Amazing idea… 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s… that designs is coming back🤘 with little modern changes.
Never really left when seeing a 250GTO go for absurd millions. Styling wise, cars these days put aerodynamics and safety first that's really why manufacturers don't make them anymore.
But I say all that to say with the electric revolution we should see style make a comeback. Maybe not giant fish tails but I do agree, we'll see a resurgence of those eras.
Hyundai just made a 80s looking EV hatchback. Morgan still makes cars. Rolls Royce still have that prestige look and Bentley too. The Mustang is still going through it's 60s-70s style. Lamborghini with the new Countach but more a money grab. Porsche still hasn't changed much. The Jeep Wrangler still looks like a Jeep Wrangler, just bigger. The Challenger is pretty much a combination of the early Challenger and Charger. The Viper still looked like the original just with a roof and safety structure. Up until maybe 12 years ago Jaguars still looked like they came from the 70s & 80s. Early 2000s BMWs still looked like the 80s, just not as blocky. The Mini still looks like the original just bigger and more reliable. The G-Wagon up until like 3yrs ago looked the same since 1979, same for the Range Rover. Nissan to your point with the new Z looks like the 70s version. The Miata still hasn't really changed I mean it doesn't look like a pill 💊 from Akira anymore but still the same. Subaru actually looks more 80s now than ever just taller. The Fiat 500 still looks like the old one just bigger for Americans. The 4C as beautiful as it was didn't sell well. Mclaren hasn't really changed since the F1. I find it funny so many found the 12C bad but it looks more like the F1 than anything, that's just bad marketing since ppl caught on to the money grab scheme which why care, it's a fast ass car and can compete with a tune and turbos. The 12C looks more like the race car though. Lotus still kept they're stylings. Up until recently the Land Cruiser hasn't changed much, just the front mostly.

I'm old enough to remember all the group b rally cars from the 80s except this one. I mean, I remember it, but only vagely which is weird because now I think it's absolutely gorgeous and unique. I'd chose this one over the rest if I could pick one and would even "settle" with the restomod :)

We had it so good in the 80s, group b 1500bhp turbo f1, 200 bhp 2 stroke motorcycles. 500cc works protyoe mx bikes. And drivers and riders who where passionate people, my heroes Vatanen, Salonen, Gardner, Schwartz, Mansell senna, piquet, Dave Thorpe and then add Debbie Harry to my bedroom wall.
I'm loving this Kimera restomod , it is seriously sympathetic to the original. Like , a virtual carbon copy. Even down to the stuttering idle.. Love the modernised looks. It just looks right as a design.....My one concern is , how,d you see out the back , a camera ?

I have a 77 beta coupe imported into Australia RHD metallic bronze with lime green seats real 70s . Complete car needs resto matching numbers 2.0ltr with 5 speed. Great little project car.

Such a beatiful car, I wish we had them here in USA. I love all the lines, the styling, wheels, wheel gap etc its just a great re-work of that car. It blows the original out of the water, in every angle, and I love the lines of this car. Would buy one if I could afford it, I'm sure they are over $100k over there?

Thank you man! I use a Sony FDR-AX53 with an Audio Techinca microphone. My friends Bozzy and Italiansupercar use a Canon GX10 and a G30, both with the Canon external microphone.

Nunca vi este auto , es la primera vez, pero fue suficiente para enamorarme, motor central trasero lo que le debe otorgar un buen balance , debe ser un motor 3 o 2 litros , debe ser bien entretenido sacarle el máximo a ese auto
Con qualche piccola miglioria e, perche' no, forse una versione base con un motore come , ad esempio, il 1750TBi dell' Alfa Romeo (oltre il motore dell' esemplare che si vede nel video), questa macchina potrebbe rivitalizzare la Lancia. Credo che gli amatori del Made in Italy farebbero la fila per lei. Anche nella mia patria , Grecia, nel bel mezzo della crisi finanziaria, si e' stuffati di vedere Cayman , Boxster e Z350-370. Dopo la GTV 916 ed il Coupe'....buio totale
Pero' ....il Gruppo ha lasciato l'Italia per una altra sede ammistrativa ed una diversa fiscale. Sono francesi (o' non so di dove) quelli che decidono....e si dice che il futuro dell' azienda sara' quello di produrre lavatrici su quattro ruote....

Stai chiedendo l'impossibile purtroppo.
Questo è un prototipo costruito su una base Beta Montecarlo da parte della Kimera Automobili ed è di fatto una supercar come la nuova Stratos e arriverà a costare nella sua versione più potente circa 700.000 euro e con la Lancia nulla ha a che fare direttamente, se non per il fatto che hanno ricevuto il placet ad utilizzare il logo e il numero di progetto sulla mascherina anteriore.
Il gruppo Stellantis non ha alcuna intenzione di fare alcunché riguardo alla Lancia, se non lasciarla morire.
In ogni caso una nuova Lancia 037sarebbe impossibile da produrre per la vendita di serie, rimarrebbe comunque una vettura di nicchia viste le dimensioni generali, non avrebbe alcuna di speranza di fare grandi numeri e quindi saremmo nuovamente punto e a capo.
Se davvero ci fosse anche solo la minima intenzione di rivitalizzare il marchio si dovrebbe puntare su una macchina meno esclusiva, tipo una nuova Fulvia, ma stiamo parlando di sogni.
Inoltre stiamo parlando di Lancia, non di Alfa Romeo, che invece è stata scelta dal gruppo e da Minchionne per essere rivitalizzata, e tra l'altro i lancisti D.O.C. ( io per primo) non comprerebbero mai una macchina con motore Alfa Romeo, non esiste proprio mi dispiace.
E se non bastasse la notizia ufficiale è che Lancia produrrà solo tre vetture e cioè la nuova Y, l'Ammiraglia che avrà una nuova lettera dell'alfabeto greco e la Delta, tutte elettriche, quindi lascia pure ogni speranza riguardo la ripresa di questo marchio...
Sencillamente enamorado de este coche .....se q un Ferrari es pata negra.... pero un Lancia de estos como el 037evo... poco tiene q envidiar a uno del cavalinno
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to compare the two in this video. It proves to me what I suspected the Kimera will always look like a cheap (figuratively) imposter, when compared to the OG. The modifications to the bodylines just ruin it for me- the '80s were the '80s; they had a defining, boxy style, and trying to "modernise" that look, always comes up short. The spoiler's integration ruins the elevation as well as making the rear panel look like one giant slab, with a Ferrari-esque diffuser hanging under- very much a "kitcar" look. and blending out the hip and window lines is tantamount to sacrilege! The original 037 is a RACECAR- one can see the original coupe underneath, but the body modifications scream "competition", whereas the Kimera looks like it's just trying to be the latest sportscar on the block, no pedigree, no providence, and by trying to imitate the 037; NO ORIGINALITY! Sorry, but if I had a wad to blow on a special car, then I would pay the extra, and buy nothing less than an original 037, and laugh my ass off while blasting past imposter boy. JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION, based on my tastes and influences (yes, I AM a child of the '80s)!

Love the Kimera, but why do they call it a restomod. That term suggests that it is a restoration of an existing car. If I'm not mistaken, these are reproductions that differ significantly from the originals. Totally new cars built close to the original specs, but different.

The kimera needs smaller wheels, it would look 5 times better. The absence of rubber doesn't look right when the original car is a touch higher for rallying with the tyres being properly set up for it
To me the original is better

La Vernasca Silver Flag non è una gara. É una cronoscalata non compretitiva, una sorta di parata che si svolge su strade chiuse al traffico e aperte al pubblico, che può godersi il passaggio delle vetture anche a bordo strada. Per questo motivo le auto non vengono guidate al massimo delle loro potenzialità. Detto ciò, sulla Lancia 037 Eminence per esempio c'era Érik Comas, ex pilota di F1 e di rally.

too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and
gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on....
So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They
even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke

Fake news... In a few countries NEW ICE cars will be banned in 2030 and 2035 but not used/older ones... Because of consumption regulations. Hybrids and smaller series like a Ferrari are not affected. That is the situation for now. That scenario is maybe possible for 2050 but it's also possible that this won't happend with synthetic fuels.

@@MrQmie Biggest problem is China, China told our EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic or industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China....:-( China also banned all kind of synthetic fuels or hydrogen combustion. Because these are not energy efficient)

That sound is deadful. Sounds like a fart cannon. It needs to be gutted and v8 swapped. Then the sound can compliment the look.
