Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    That's a keeper, right there!
It's kind of strange that a lot of anglers, dye their plastics with chartreuse, but the manufacturers don't.
I guess it gives us the choice, but given it's so effective, you think they would do it more!
    Thanks Randy!

Thanks Mr. Randy for all of your videos. I used this technique for my super fluke and it has an extremely high success rate. I will never use the regular fluke method again. So far I have been pretty good at getting my treble hook at the right length (about 1 3/4 to 2 inches) to hook into the fluke. Thanks for the super advice and for giving all of your secrets away.

This is a good daily lesson to have during the fishing off season. I agree with the others that you are putting together a great series of tips that are interesting even for the old guys that have been at this game as long as you have. I live on Kerr (Buggs Island) lake and your win there will always be remembered. Grassy creek is still the best creek and that bridge is still low to the water. Keep up the good work.

I use a double hook the same way. Seems to snag less.
Fyi, if you can, point the camera down so the top of the frame cuts at your hat and a little left, your right, to better center. Maybe a little clip on cone light, low wattage, from the ceiling to you for a little fill in lighting.

Randy, excellent adaptation. I fish Lake of the Ozarks regularly and when fishing flukes around dock ends it is common to slip the eye of the treble hook over the point of your ewg hook (swings freely) - it does not come off during the fight. I like your approach a little better.

Yes, fished the heck out of the old Herb Reed Slugo especially in and around the weed beds in the Potomac. Haven't been much on a Fluke though but now I will have to try them especially as the spawn gets close here in TR. Looks like a great alternative to a jerk bait when rigged "Randy Style". Thanks for putting out these lure mod videos. We are getting the benefit of your 40+ years of trial and error in just a few minutes. I assume you rig a few of the 'harnesses' ahead of fishing time, right? Would take a while to do so out in a moving/drifting boat. Stay safe ... We're a sheet of ice here this morning.
