- I’m always curious about digital art on devices other than on an iPad. I thought it would be fun to see if I can actually illustrate on this Asus Zenbook Flip 2 in 1 laptop! It was definitely not so easy switching from Procreate to Adobe Fresco, and from iPad OS to Windows, but it was definitely a fun experiment 😅

Thank you for testing the pen support and drawing. It's actually pretty difficult to find a review of these laptops that would test these features.
I got some short videos using my Samsung Galaxy Book 3 pro 360. It's also a wonderful 2 in 1 that became my daily driver for illustration work. It's also slightly bigger at 16 inches, 4k screen, and uses the same Spen as in all Samsung's Galaxy Tab series of products.

I love a 2-in-1 device. Have a lenovo ideapad flex 5 16" and just love the big screen for taking notes and wanting to start drawing. I used an ipad before, but compared to the notebook, it's a lot smaller at 10,5". Now I just need to learn to draw digital also.

They absolutely massive plus of Adobe Fresco is being able to draw in vector. It's insanely useful.
Thank god i stumbled on this channel since i am about to buy the new asus rog flow convertible 2 in 1 laptop and yes i need compact device for all my needs, and i've been searching reviews everywhere about the drawing experience and this one is the best and reassures me to just go get my new asus laptop. Insta sub :)

I recommend Krita since it's free but powerful
I just got an ASUS Zenbook (Q529, another 2-in-1), installed both CSP and SAI on it and they seem to work fine for the most part. I still have to look into a good Pen to go with this PC though (this model didn't come with one =/)-I tested them with my fingers and with an older Wacom tablet after installing its drivers...that's a huge perk about this PC though and was the main reason I got it lol. It lets me draw on the screen w/a pen as the main mode of drawing, and plug-in my older tablet as a secondary backup in case anything happens. Pretty nifty 😁
I've not used Procreate so cannot comment on the differences, but I use a Windows Surface with Adobe Fresco and have been for some time now as my primary illustration platform. I would agree that Fresco isn't quite as advanced as Procreate but it's come on a lot in quite a short time and I find it a good drawing experience. I also like having the ability to transfer things to Photoshop/Illustrator easily. Also the surface is great as a 2in1 laptop and very portable but make sure to get a sufficiently powerful one to cope well with the drawing!
Oh that’s great to hear. Thanks for sharing that! I’ll actually be getting a Surface Pro 8 i7 16gb in a couple days, there was an amazing Black Friday deal! I’m so excited to test it out and compare how it handles my workflow vs iPad! I’m planning a couple of videos on that topic too:D

Im looking at getting a 2in1 to start using a hybrid drawing setup. The Zenbook Flip looks like a really good option. Been looking at it a while.

@@captngravity it’s actually on offer at the moment for £700. Which is a lot better than it’s, as you said, terrible pricing beforehand. It is however sadly now out of stock.
Also on Amazon there’s an ASUS zenbook that’s on offer for 890, where it would usually cost 1,300. It’s got an i7 processor and a maximum of 16gb of ram, however it only comes with 4gb ram installed. it’s the cheapest Zenbook ive seen on any site so you might want to give that one a look
Ignore that, it’ll most likely cost more to even install the upgrades onto it rather than to just buy a normal 900 one

The screen is obviously not a illustration grade, not very responsive. But, the fact that you can use this screen for illustration is a plus point of having a touchscreen and 360° screen reputation
I've just brought a ASUS zenbook flip 13 mine is similar but it has an i7 intel core instead and 16 gb ram, but for some reason after a few minutes of drawing on adobe fresco it crashes I haven't found a solution to it yet and I'm wondering if that's been a problem for your laptop?
How can you make it so when you put it in tablet mode the keyboard buttons won't be typing?
I have one question when you fild laptop does it goces pressure on keyboard (ofcourse it would) but will it cause damage to keyboard?

No screen protector! The palm rejection is on automatically, but it´s not perfect, which is why I use a glove :)
I have this headache doing digital art, how do you press ctrl+z when you flip that laptop 😭
Fresco is touch optimized, do you undo by tapping on the canvas with two fingers :)

Hey! Do you know how much pressure of pen sensitivity have on dell inspiron 14 5406. I have this laptop and my active pen is PN579X. I want to use pen for illustration but just need to know about sensitivity.
Please reply! I also found out that I might need a Wacom tablet for digital art but do I need it or not ? I cannot find the sensitivity on my laptop for active pen. Please help me

Did u every tried to use non battery stylus?
I hv generic universal touch screen stylus. It's extremely cheap and no charging required . It works good with PicsArt colour and clipart too on phone.
The only downside is that it has big rounded tip which can hinder ur sight of seeing which point exactly it's touching.
I hv it for 4yrs ,it's working fine.
You should try something similar to it but with pointed nib. It's very cheap anyways. See if it works on u r laptop - tab.
@Vanessa2775 This may be a late answer, but i just found your comment. Even though your Stylus supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, your particular model of laptop works only up to 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. This is plenty enough for digital art and illustration. I'm not sure if you're a beginner and I dislike making assumptions about expertise. So, I'd like to say that you don't need a Wacom tablet for digital art, unless you're working at the highest levels of professional arts like in game development, cinema, fashion, and more. Wacom tablets are quite expensive, but I know that's not an issue for some people and organizations. However, most art enthusiasts, and students might find Wacom pricing excessive. Finally, there are some excellent alternatives out there like Huion Kamvas, or Xp Pen Art and Pro series of products. These are devices that work flawlessly at more affordable prices. Check out the newly released series of Huion tablets, the Kamvas Pro 19 and 27; which now offer multi-touch functionality and are still significantly cheaper than Wacom's products.

at the beginning of the video, it is really visible, so i am assuming it is really there, right?
Right, I notice that with most “reviews” jitter is a huge focus, but in this video I just talked about my own drawing experience on it and “jitter” is something I honestly just don’t notice in my use case.

I was using Adobe Fresco!:) It’s got lots of similarities with Procreate - which is the program I prefer most for digital art.

Hi! Well, the palm reject isn’t AMAZING, so without the glove you will make some marks on the screen with your palm sometimes. I also just like that the glove glides smoother on the screen than a naked palm haha.
