    Winter fishing is so hit or miss. Sometimes you find'em all schooled up and biting, and its ON. Sometimes its just completely dead out there. That's a great day you just had. Looked like fun! Thank you for catch and release btw.

    Elias, new subscriber here, just wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation on you sharing your setups and strategies with the viewers. As entertaining your content is, it's also informational. Try to get some spring pompano along the panhandle/ pensacola this spring! Would love to watch and learn more about surf fishing. That's the same setup I use fishing for walleye when I drive up to lake erie.😀 Drop shot with Berkley black shads, but I use the 2 1/2" shads and my hooks might be a little smaller. Walleye up there are leery of anything much bigger.
    I've never been skunked targeting walleye with that setup.

    Elias! Love your content, sir. Question: would you be willing to do a video on your fish finder, and why you do or do not use the newer equipment like Live sonar etc? I’m kinda new to fishing on a boat, and i feel like the industry and TH-camrs aren’t ok with “normal” equipment. Yet, you slay it!!! And you do it with relatively simply equipment

  • @cerebraltackle
    @cerebraltackle ปีที่แล้ว

    I've been using the drop shot with live bait (Minnows) for years targeting crappie. It absolutely works. However, when using live bait, I just maintain bottom contact and allow the minnow to do the work for me. It's great in brush because you can modify your leader length and type weight so that you can better penetrate the brush.

    I'm using this technique when nothing else works and i love it. It's not a finesse technique, here in Europe we start with leaders from 6 pounds and up. Personally i don't use less then 8 pounds strength, as you can even catch pike sometimes, big zanders (smaller walleye ), big perches and i've even got a catfish (4 feets) on it. When it's tough, i abandon the plastics and i use worms, to increase the chances of catching something. You can use the drop shot with half ounce or even 2/3 ounce weights for those monsters out there, with 5-6 inches lures. And a little idea : for not losing to many weights, you can use some small pebbles, and it's even more natural for the fish. Conclusion : drop shot it's an old man's technique . Second conclusion : when the drop shot doesn't work, it's better to stay at home and make sweet love, as going fishing will rest without any results. 🤣🤣🤣
