I am 64 and i fish sinds i know myself and i still learn and the most from you, Thanks regards from a Dutch guy living in Latvia.
When you're feeling like a kid again, whatever you're doing, keep doing it! That's my inspirational quote for the day.
Elias been watching you since i was 22 almost 30 now. Your discipline and knowledge is insipiring.
I have a 60ft floating home and a sailboat and a few other punts to fish out of. Watching you gave me the courage to pull it off
"Life attracts Life" Well put!
I am 88 and constantly learning - solid early spring outing on this one
Thx dude - having mental health issues w adult son - addiction trifecta - in past have watched to learn - now doing it to escape -few min much needed respite 🎣🤙🏼
Glad this helps 👍
Glad to see ya back home.. fishing is picking up with the water temps getting into the 60s keep the vids coming
Keep up the great work, thanks for sharing
Cool stuff Elias, I always enjoy your videos! God bless and stay Safe!😅
Great video! I watched ya on the big screen!
Those perch are spunky pound for pound. Another great video!
We really like white perch for the table...great frying fish...
Beautiful Perch!!
I caught a few white perch in Lake Champlain on the Vermont side. I was chasing yellow perch. Both are great table fair.
Top notch content as per usual. Gotta pick through a lot of tiny ones on that lake, but there are plenty of 13 inchers in there. Be safe out there. It can go from flat to 2 ft white caps in minutes.
Love your videos bro keep up the awesome job
👍😎✌
Thank you, Elias.
You're making me want to come down to NC just to fish for perch!
Excellent jumbo white perch fishing in the nyc reservoir system
If you’re from there
Bro I can't go that long between videos, I need one like every 3 days😂
I love your videos, but we need you back in South Florida catching ridiculous size snappers like you did! I got my flukes in the mail and I am ordering my Blue Crab scent right now because of your videos so I need to watch more lessons of you in South Florida! Lol Keep up the great videos!
Good shit Elias, cant wait to launch my yak. Water temp is only 40 F here though.
Th28s old st Croix is my favorite jigging rod
Good info bro
I welcome white perch videos in any season! I wish the tidal creeks around me weren't so polluted with runoff, keeping any I catch there would be pretty gross, at least I can get some at reservoirs occasionally, though I wish I could figure out where to find and reach them from shore more consistently
Doing what I grew up doing. A good video.
Man those are some GIANT white perch!!! I'm on hickory shad in big numbers on the neuse river, love to have you along one day if you're interested.
The perch I'm looking for ! But they are not in my creek yet where I fish daily, one thing I like to do is get a small perch and make skinny strips and the hit it like crazy, give it try.
Hi Elias, i have noticed this as well here in Holland. Sometimes they bite when you fish with the current, and sometimes against it.
Also, can you explain in a video how you read the fish screen thing?
Nice!
Several lifetimes ago, my Dad and I used to to do some some serious damage to the White Perch in some South Jersey estuaries(Barnegat Bay) with Mepps “Black Fury” spinners."..
I just looked it up, don't know exactly which state you're in, but the North Carolina state record of a White Perch is 2 pounds 15 oz. "Neuse Reservoir" in December of 2001, the NC fish and game website says the record perch was caught on a strata spoon.
Some of our local lakes are absolutely crowded with small white perch. In my opinion they’re the best catfish bait a person can have.
My favorite blue crab bait as well
Great live bait for Flathead and blues.
@@williamleidy6713 I’ve boated several citation sized channel cats on perch as well. The best part, in my opinion, is that it’s way tougher than shad and the little ones don’t pull it off the hook so easy.
@@serendipityforge333 I have no doubt but I don't target channel cats when I come down to white perch territory to catfish.
@@williamleidy6713 me neither usually, but they’re a pretty common bycatch. Last trip I caught 6 channels around 5 pounds, a 20.1 pound blue, a 37.7 pound blue and a 50.2 pound blue. Dragging cut perch on Santee rigs with 10/0 hooks. Was back in October. Then I got knocked down by cancer and am just now getting things together to get back after them.
Elias.. I'm planning a trip down to North Myrtle Beach later on this year and where would be a good spot to fish the inland or landlocked areas from shore? I would like to catch some of those white perch that you were pulling in.... those were huge.
Wow, love the perchpocalypse there. Serious chunkers, those white perch! Seems like the bruisers were all in the tidal creek section, with the pondies running smaller. Do you find that the salinity edge tends to produce bigger perch generally?
Yes, "life attracts life" ... and then, sooner or later, one way of the other, it becomes "food". Bon Appetite'!
Awesome video! Can't wait for striper season here in Canada on April 15. I would love to target WP this year but I'm trying to learn their migratory patterns. Any advice on where to start in early spring? Water temps are usually around around 8-10 degrees C (46-50F) in our rivers on April 15th. Should I be starting shallow upriver or focusing mainly on tributaries and eventually estuaries? The main source of food are minnows and sand eels.
Stripers in Canada?? I remember I took a trip to PEI about 20 years ago. I saw huge schools of sand eels along the beach and thought “this would be a cool place for stripers to live”
As it turns out I was talking to some locals and they told me there was a small striper fishery on the island.
@@secretjourney4815 Yes, they have been around since then. I'm not sure if it was COVID/social media era that got more anglers into the sport and now they seem to be caught in big numbers now. More are being caught in local lobster traps as well which I have never seen in my 10+ years of lobster fishing. Certainly, there are more plentiful striper areas to fish but they are being seen island wide now. They seem to migrate from the Miramichi River after spawning, in New Brunswick over to PEI.
Ironic how you mentioned the successful survivability rates of catch and release Stripers in cold water. Here in Maryland and on the Chesapeake our DNR is thinking about closing down catch and release in the fall when the waters are traditionally much cooler.
Elias, who' 's folding measuring board? Do you use the orange one?
That is one heck of a day of fishing. But just another day for EV…
State record is 2# 15 oz from falls of Neuse reservoir
That’s a big one.
I wouldn’t mind seeing another freshwater drum video.
Is that a TEMU plastic jig special on your thumbnail? I bought some to try them out and the tails fell off they were a separate piece of plastic.
Nah it’s a Strike King
Are you sure that they white perch and not yellow, ones I catch here in Delaware are white
What lake is this? Those White perch are crazy huge
Two different coastal NC areas. I won’t name drop I’m sure some locals wouldn’t be happy about that.
Красавчик👍привет из России🤝
Hi, why are they so slow to resuscitate?
Cold water and pretty deep water.
Can you give a run down on your cold weather clothing? I'm struggling to find the right balance of warmth / comfort / safety. Searched your channel but couldn't find any 'fashion' episodes. 😁
Drysuit below 60 degree water - dry pants for anything over and it’s still chilly.
Stripers wanted faster retrieve
Appears NC state record is 2 lbs 1 oz. You may have beaten that.

"Good stuff ..My best was 18.5"'...no idea on weight..Back she went..
Monster. I’ve heard of many fish that size from brackish areas in LI especially.
Nice, biggest white perch I have caught is 19 inches verified by a bioligist....not far from the state record.
DUDE! It’s pronounced kraa-pee! Like ahhhhh. Not crap-eeeee. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
lol oh crap ! Dude he is from nuu yawwk that’s how we say crap eee
