Thanks for this great comparison. Definitely very helpful information! As a service dog handler, it is so important to find the best food for my working dogs. My dogs have been on Inukshuk Marine 25 for the past year and have been very pleased. One of my dogs is still not putting on weight so not sure if he would do better on a different one from Inukshuk, maybe the 30/25? I also just recently got a guide dog last week and she's currently on PPP Sport 30/20 Chicken & Rice, the program said I should keep her on that for a few weeks then slowly switch her to a maintenance food, do you think the Marine 25 would be a good switch or the 30/25 Inukshuk? Thanks!!
Hello, Glad to see you enjoyed the review and appreciate the question. Since making the review we have put a fair amount of our dogs on the Marine 25. We absolutely love the Marine product and the fact that it is corn free. We have seen great coats and good health with both the marine 25 and standard 30/25. When dogs come into the kennel which is quite often we get them switched over in the first week and have seen no issues. That said some dogs can have a touchy stomach but I believe the quality of the feed is the main factor. Good luck!
We love this brand. My heeler mix is on the 26/16. But when we get our GSP in August I was thinking trying the 30/25. Only because both dogs will be playing. And then eventually the GSP will me my running partner - marathon distance, and will be active outside. Would rhetorical 30/25 be ok for a very active puppy? I know their site mentioned 26/16.
We have a GSP who is Hi energy and we have him on grain free food. He is at perfect weight and I run him up tp 6-8 times a day. But his stool is mostly runny. We have tried sensitive stomach and it helped a little. So this was recommended from a guy at work that has Bully show dogs, and this is all he gives them. So I will try this. New sub from me and thank you.
@@hunterrunplantation7303 Hey Thank you, we're finishing up his current food and will order in the next few days. I have a friend at work that has multiple bullies and he swears by this food.
We couldn’t keep weight on our GSP. He was skin and bones with free choice feed of other “top of the line” brands, soft stools and diarrhea as well… Eukanuba, Instinct with raw boost, Purine Pro, and Victor. I was even supplementing his food with raw ground liver, lung, heart, and kidney… still couldn’t get his weight to stay. We switched to the 32/32 and he put weight on like a champ. 4 cups of food per day versus 6-8, him and our lab stay satiated all day instead of hungry a couple hours later. His coat looks great… I can’t say enough about this food. Our lab is so satiated with this food that he isn’t the least bit food driven anymore. I have never met a lab that isn’t food driven.
I have a female dog who doesn’t keep weight at all and doesn’t like being outside much which bag would you recommend just to put some healthy weight on her?
May I ask a couple questions to help in the selection? What breed is she? Is she a family dog or working dog ( agility, trial, hunting, working cattle….) ?
I have a German Sheperd Dog. Hes an active dog. ive tried different types of food but end getting a funky dog smell even after showering him. right now im feeding him blue buffalo and skin improved and gained weight but smell is coming back.
Currently, there are 35 dogs on Inukshuk in the kennel. We have seen a significant reduction in feed to 40% of our dogs. We have also raised seven litters now and the bounce back of mom has been great. The performance of the dogs has remained solid and it seems endurance has improved but I don't have any imperical data.
Sidney, Sorry for slow response but we are kicking off a very busy season on the farm. We have seen great results with the Marine 25. When whelping pups we keep the mother on this or the 30/25. Then we start the pups on it as well. That said, I want to note that we are very cognizant about maintaining proper weight gain. Our pups are handled everyday from birth while at our kennels. Additionally we only raise sporting breeds and at five weeks old they go out everyday into the puppy yard to play, burn off energy and just be pups. If your pup will not be very active I would recommend the 25/16.
Add goats milk and mix raw or freeze dried raw don’t just go to Petsmart or Petco or one feed store look around in the areas you live someplace will carry some of the things your dog will like and others will carry other things I go to about four or five feed stores when getting stuff from my dog I mix a lot of good stuff together depending on the day it’s almost like a treat I’ve always used Victor high Pro plus and tractor supply 4 health he has allergies to certain dog foods but there’s other brands I still would like to try
It is a nice idea to make special meals everyday for your pet. However, we are currently feeding 47 working dogs a day. I have had working dogs since I was a boy(total of 43 years ). We tried victor with very poor results. Inukshuk over the last three years has proved to be the best bulk feed we have seen to produce the best results for our clients and our dogs. My wife and I both studied animal science in college and two of our clients are vets that have now switched over to Inukshuk as well due to the results we have seen.
I had all my dogs stop eating Victor from one bag to the other. Which was very unusual for them because usually they became more excited for the food watching me open it. They also usually ate all their food as soon as I put it down but with that bag they would eat part of it and walk off.
We raise Sarplaninac LGDs. They are so hard to keep weight on and we have yet to find a food that keeps weight on them, so we are trying this. Have heard good things from multiple people
@@hunterrunplantation7303 yes we have been on Inukshuk for 5 months now and it has been a serious game changer for my dogs. Can finally keep weight on them and they actually want to eat it.
If you’re feeding a mass amount of dogs, I can see where this guy is coming from but if you only have one or two dogs, there’s definitely better brands out there
Zack - We have never had an issue like this with our dogs. We now have 30 in the kennels on this feed. We do give a fish oil suplement for the dogs that are not on the Marine formula so you may want to try that. If she has not been going at all I would take her to the vet because she may have eaten something that impacted her. Part of a rope tool, sock, ball, rocks ....... these are all things I have seen in the past and the list goes on. Good luck and I hope she feels better soon.
I fed my dogs inukshuk and it dries the one dogs coat out but is the only thing that ever has kept weight on him without a massive amount of kibble: so I rotate it and he’s doing well: this is a good review
We put a couple dogs on the Inukshuk Marine 25 and have had some really great performance results. I have not had any coat issues but thought this may help you.

Yes. We feed between 20-25% less per dog. We have both bird dogs and retrievers on Inukshuk.

Victor is family owned is hasn't been bought

Victor is manufactured by Mid America pet food, a major portion of which is owned by TA Associates a large private equity group.
I don’t have a working dog, more like a glorified therapy dog. Can I still feed my dog this food?
