Thanks Scott. One thing I forgot to mention in the videos is that the grip on the xfire is about .100 inches wider than a Glock 19. That doesn't seem like much for you and me but it would make it hard to shoot for my wife.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Overall I think it is a solid gun. There are some issues but for ermox's first handgun in the u.s.i think they did a good job.
Thanks for watching and the comment. I bet you are right. Maybe they can send me a commission to cover ammo cost😂 I should buy another before they get crazy.
I asked Classic Firearms if anything would mount straight to the slide. They said no, you have to use a plate. Measured the sight dovetail today to see if I could put Glock suppressor height sights on it to cowitness with my dot sight... nope, it's about a mm too wide. Took the slide off to check that the front sight is removable and it is but when I put the gun back together something broke in the trigger and now it doesn't work. I wrote to Classic again but I doubt they're going to do anything for me. I can try a Glock trigger but I'm not sure if it will work... and it may be something in the upper that's messed up too. I really loved this gun for a month. Took it shooting three times and it was great. Now I'm not so sure.
Sorry to hear that. In my experience CF will not help you unless you paid for their extra insurance. I would swap out the trigger for Glock parts and see if that does the trick. Maybe contact pw arms or ermox. If they are trying to build a reputation and sell guns in the future they may be receptive.
@@gillysguns9244 Classic forwarded my request to a US warranty service for the XFire and they responded fairly quickly asking for details. I described the whole situation and I'm waiting to hear back again. Pretty sure something went off with the trigger but I haven't figured out what. The fact that I actually have someone to talk to about the gun is exciting though. I thought I would just be SOL and on my own.
If you haven't already, try removing the slide and manipulate the trigger bar by pushing forward on the firing pin unlock tab that sticks up. That should reset the trigger to the fire position. If it resets, press the trigger to see if it "fires". If the trigger doesn't reset manually, without the slide, by pushing forward on the trigger bar unlock tab, or "fire" if it does reset, see if you can determine what is keeping it from resetting or firing. Check the slide's function by pressing the firing pin lock in to see if it is free to move, then retract the firing pin against spring tension to check for free movement. If there is no binding of these parts, press the firing pin in towards the fire position; it should not move in. Then press the firing pin lock down and hold it while pushing the firing pin in towards the fire position; the firing pin should move into the fire position. If it seems to work correctly, reinstall the slide and test it WITHOUT AMMO by cycling the slide and pulling the trigger. Make note of what you find to be able to explain the problem as best as you can for warranty. See the owner's manual for instructions on how to seek repair, if needed. Do not load the firearm unless you are confident it is working correctly.
I've been thinking of getting a 9mm pistol, but my budget limits how much I can spend. Until today I had never heard of Ermox guns, but if you can run that many rounds through one and experience so few malfunctions, it definitely belongs on my to-be-considered list!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I had a problem with the connector on the trigger at 100 rounds. I fixed that and Since then it has functioned great. I wouldn't put this in the same category as one of the big names but for their first try the xfire is a good gun. If you can find one under $300 pick it up. I bet you would enjoy it.
How would you describe the grip angle? Is it like a Glock 19, or a 1911 pistol? When you bring it up to eye level are the sights aligned or do you have to tweak it to get a sight picture? Thanks
I think it is a mix between the two. The grip angle is like a Glock but the recess for the web of your hand makes it less extreme. Its like a small improvement on the Glock. The grip is also almost 1/8" wider than a Glock. It is chunky.
@@gillysguns9244 Thanks. I've ordered one and will take delivery Saturday, but I wanted to get an idea before I picked it up the first time. Since you've done a smoothing of the internals, did you pick it up without the grip panels installed? That would narrow the grip if only by 1/8th inch. If so, how did that feel in the hand?
@@jerrywiese9722 I like the width without the grips but it wouldnt be comfortable to shoot. The frame is definitely made to have some kind of grip on it. The grips smooth out the contours of the frame.
I actually just bought a trigger gauge to figure out what I can do. I wanted a gauge before I started so I could show what it actually does. I don't plan on replacing the trigger, just polishing it and maybe upgrading the springs. If I'm not satisfied with that then I might try fitting an aftermarket Glock trigger. Hopefully I can get a video up this weekend.
I used a little moly paste on the connector, firing pin release contact point, and the top of the firing pin stop plunger. With no modifications, I measured a 6# pull with a Wheeler spring type gauge. Yours might be different, but it should be close.@@gillysguns9244
So I just posted a video on the results of a polish job. Got it down to just over 4 pounds with the polish and a zev striker spring. I can live with that if it still functions good. Results TBD.
Would you bet your life on this pistol may I ask? Just wondering what you think.. Not trying to be snarky.. Thanks so much in advance and great video.. It looks like it did well.. Thanks so much again. Tim
Thanks for watching and commenting. I will be using this as a range gun. With the failure I had at 100 rounds I don't really trust it for defensive use. Maybe once I get a few thousand rounds through it that will change. This isn't saying it's bad. I have Glocks that I shoot competition with that I have well over $1500 in. I wouldn't bet my life on any of those either. I carry a box stock g27 for defensive use.
Sure. My life isn't worth much at this stage, why not take a chance. Other than the initial Covid 19 shots, that might be the most excitement I'd get in my old age.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I think price wise it is a wash. You can get some really good handguns for just a few bucks more. The features of the ermox are nice but you're not getting the deal of the century or anything crazy. If you like odd firearms this one is just that. The grip is about 1/8" wider than a standard Glock 17 so it feels more like a brick. That is odd for folks with smaller hands but it does make recoil very manageable. I would recommend it to someone who has other handguns but wants something different.
I appreciate that you wanted to watch every shot but most people don't. In fact the average viewer only watches 3 and a half minutes of this video. If I had put every shot in it would have been over two hours long. Thanks again for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoyed the video👍
No, I haven't messed with the ermox in quite a while. Hopefully I can find time to tinker with it some more but right now I am pretty busy with work. Thanks for following up. I will post a video when I can. If the trigger doesn't fit it might just be a short😜
Awesome. I see more reviews popping up and it seems like everyone likes the xfire. I am pleased with my example and I hope you are with yours. Have a great day!
I like mine does the job came with hood sights and is milked for optics cones with a lot including hard case with two mags extra grips and cleaning kit takes Glock mags and springs as well as honed Glock barrel that fits in my dagger vice versa 💪🏼🫡💯
You get lots for the price. Mine works fine now that I replaced the connector. The fiber optic sights fell apart but other than that I don't have any complaints. Glad you like yours too! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
You sold me on it buddy. I think it did great. Good shooting too

I like your reviews. I just went to classic forearms and bought one on sale for $319!
Thank you for the kind words. I seen they were on sale for 319. That's a awesome deal!

I got it at $319. It is a good deal. I'm putting my G19 into a Recovery 20/20 brace and I wanted a standalone G19 magazine compatible gun. This is it.
Classic firearms has it until 2/29/24 for 299
