Selecting strings depends on three areas: 1) Style of play / type of strokes, 2) Lack of or presence of arm problems, 3) Budget for re-stringing. Racquet type, in my opinion, plays a very small role in string selection. If you play a primarily baseline game, have topspin-producing groundstrokes w/ fast racquet head speed, don't have any arm/elbow problems & can afford to re-string every few weeks, then co-poly strings like you listed are good options. If not, we should look to something else.

    K. The reason #3 is important with co-poly strings... This type of string loses tension / playability more quickly than other types of strings. Co-poly strings can be tough on the arm/elbow when fresh, but when they go dead, they are even more harsh, possible leading to #2:) Keep me posted and reach out any time with questions. Take care. Very rarely. It usually isn't cost-effective for people to ship racquets to me. They have to pay all shipping (to and from) - plus strings and labor. Normally, people can find a reputable stringer in their area. If you don't have anyone in your area, we can pursue this option, but I am not sure it is in your best financial interest. Thanks. DH

If you play more of a serve and volley game, then I think the hybrid you suggested or Champions Choice would be fine. Champions Choice will be more expensive on a per racquet basis - because it contains natural gut instead of a less expensive multi. If you play a lot of doubles and come to the net often, you may even want to try a full bed of a good multi - like X-One BiPhase. You might like the softer, touch/feel, and power it gives you. Just something to consider. Take care. DH

It looks to use 20' in the mains and 18' in the crosses. So... If your stringer measures carefully and doesn't waste any string, then you could get get two hybrids from one set of each type of string. Take care. DH

If you hit with heavy topspin and are a string breaker, then X-One will probably wear and then break on you fairly quickly - of course depending on how often you play. Any multi or gut will. If not, it could be a great hybrid for you to playtest. Gut and multis (like X-One and many others) do not have a solid core - instead many, multiple filaments. While this is great for power, touch/feel, and tension maintenance, it isn't great for durability - for string breakers. Take care. DH

Luxilon strings are better then babolat strings ??? I have 4g string on my racquet and really like it. I have never tried any other strings let me know what else is a good recommendation to try

The best poly, by far, for me (from a playability standpoint) is Luxilon Alu Power Rough. To reap its benefits, you have to have heavy topspin groundstrokes with fast racquet head speed. If you do, it's magic when fresh. Unfortunately, it doesn't stay fresh incredibly long. Take care. DH

It depends on which racquet you use... If it needs 20' or less of string for the mains, and 20' or less of string for the crosses, then you can buy one set of X-One and one set of 4G - and have enough string for two hybrids. Let me know what stick you use, and I'll look up how much string it requires. Storing it is not an issue. Just keep it out of extreme heat or extreme cold. Take care. DH

Hey DH! I'm actually coming to Visit Dayton this summer, any possibility I could drop my rackets in to be strung whilst I'm there for the week?
Good too see a video from you!
