    On the babolat pure aero 2023, what tension will be better for the alu power rough on the both cross and the main 53lb or 54lb?

    • @InspiredTennis
      @InspiredTennis 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It totally depends on your style of play and personal preference. I suggest picking a tension and play-testing it to see how you like it. Then, you can make further tension adjustments from there, if needed. Take care.

    Which is better on full string bed alu power rough or 4g soft?

    • @InspiredTennis
      @InspiredTennis 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It really depends on your stroke mechanics, style of play, presence/lack of arm/elbow problems, and what you desire from a string. For me, I prefer Alu Power Rough, but your needs/preference may be different. I suggest play testing both to see which one best suits your game. Take care. DH

    Not true.... If the crank machine guy makes the effort to pull twice (out of tension head and re-apply) for each time pulling..... then the crank job will be just as good regarding tensioning the string to the reference tension. So it depends more on the man than on the machine..

    What tension do u use?

    • @InspiredTennis
      @InspiredTennis 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Felipe - Thanks for the comments. I don’t play or string tennis any longer (only play pickleball), but when I played, I used Luxilon Alu Power Rough at 57 lbs. in a Prince Original Graphite Mid-Plus. As far as your other question, I’m not sure what to recommend, as I have been out of the stringing game for about a decade. Sorry. Take care. DH

    Look, I know this stringing thing is trial and error, but I don't have an unlimited roll of strings. vcore 98 at 45 pounds of Tourna Silver 7 1.25 I found it solid, which I do feel that I could even play with 44 pounds, but I don't know if it would be too crazy, but I swear I feel that way. I did string the same size with Tourna BH blue rough 1.25 and it was nothing to see, I felt that the string was very loose and I don't want to continue losing string. in this type of rope to compensate for it being softer than silver 7 how many pounds would it be wise to go up? I saw videos where they string with this string at 50 pounds and I even saw videos from TW where Silver 7 tour fits them in an ezone 98 + at 45 pounds.

    I have like 50-70kg of it saved in perhaps 10 big boxes from like 8-10 years of stringing . Many colours , mostly polys. Also wondering when a good idea enters my mind to use them?

      @InspiredTennis 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Oliver - Yeah… That’s a lot of string! Unfortunately, I never found a great recycling or repurposing option. I hope you learn of or think of a great option for all that string. Take care. DH

    Great video and channel! Question: I use Alu power 1.25 full bed at 23/22 but arm hurting…so I’m going to Head Velocity mlt to protect my arm. I know it’s not Alu power and I’ll lose some control, but what tension do you think I should put it at to get as close as possible to the control feel of Alu power? I was thinking of trying 24/23 since it’s much softer on the arm and maybe it’ll still be stiff enough for control but not hurt my arm. Your expert thoughts? I’m a former pro from the early 80s but coming back now at age 58. Thanks

    • @dhpickleball
      @dhpickleball 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to learn of your arm problems, but I’m not surprised, as Alu Power can be hard on the arm. I have been out of the stringing game for many years now, and am not familiar with Head Velocity. If it is softer, then I’d suggest stringing it two pounds higher, and experiment from there, going up in one-to-two pound increments until you find your ideal tension. Lastly, congrats on coming back at 58! That’s awesome!

      Hey Brandon - Thanks for the kind words. Inspired Tennis was a really fun gig for me for about five years, and I certainly miss that chapter of my life. As much as I loved (and still love) tennis, I found something I enjoy even more than tennis… Pickleball. I try the more linear method on the crosses however my fingers don't have enough tackiness to push the string along, it kinda just slides in my fingers. Do u use anything to help with this or u don't have the issue?

      @InspiredTennis ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Michael - I wish I could help you, but I haven’t strung a racquet in many years - probably close to a decade. When I was stringing though, I never had that problem. Have you tried those rubber finger tip covers? They might help. Take care. DH

  • @blarpieman
    @blarpieman ปีที่แล้ว

    Question. Once a racquet is one piece strung can you clamp the mains still tie them off and cut the crosses to put gut in? I hate my newly strung alu string on my prostaff. Any help is appreciated.

    • @InspiredTennis
      @InspiredTennis ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically, you could attempt to do that. It’s certainly not a best practice though. If it were me, I’d just cut out all strings and start over, but I know…. That is wasting some strong. Best of luck!

  • @johncharles2357
    @johncharles2357 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you use a bridge like this, will you still be pulling the correct tension?

    • @InspiredTennis
      @InspiredTennis ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey John - To answer your question…. There is certainly the chance that, due to using a bridge , the tension could be slightly different than what is expected/planned. But…. It should be very slight and likely unnoticeable, and this bridge will likely only be needed extremely infrequently. Hope that helps. Take care.

    • @davidhenry8789
      @davidhenry8789 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Minh - Unfortunately, when I owned this machine, I was never able to figure out how to calibrate it. I used a Beers ERT String Meter to test the consistency of string jobs, and they were always consistent - so I didn’t feel much of a need to calibrate. Take care. DH

    • @MinhNguyen-ew7cq
      @MinhNguyen-ew7cq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidhenry8789 No worries Henry, got frustrated so I went ahead and took a look inside with an oscilloscope. Found two potentiometer on the main PCB, one is responsible for the zero offset and the other for tension calibration. Got it sorted now but pity they didn't integrate calibration in the software instead, though having said that my other identical machine which I've had for years, is still spot on accurate.

    great stuff - I had to do one more thing to get this string through a shared hole - the string was half way through and I placed a very small nail and tapped the nail to drive the string through - needed to make about 25 tabs before I had a piece of string long enough to pull with pliers

    Another under the radar string brand is Pro Supex. Their Synthetic Gut Spiral Flex is one of the best synthetic gut strings on the market. They have other solid string offerings, too, but no one knows about them. So little is promoted about them that I wonder how they sell enough to stay in business. Please review Spiral Flex and some other Pro Supex strings and you'll see what I mean about them being really good, yet undiscovered. Oh, and they are affordable, too.
