Anyone who knows anything about dance music and how hard it is to pull off a genuine “live gig” will appreciate just how fucking jaw dropping this is. Most dance music “live PAs” use a fair amount of sequenced loops, and just play with the knobs on their 303 pretty much. This is so far from that it blows my mind. Every note, every break is played completely live and it’s rarity especially with dance music but this sounds tighter and miles better than the album. These guys are on another level, I’ve been in the scene 30 years and I can quite honestly say this is the best live dance gig I have ever seen and by a fucking mile, it is beyond special it is seminal, if this doesn’t make you dance nothing ever will, nothing ! I could go on all night, the drummer alone is beyond genius level just fucking amazing ...
Saw Soulwax live in Berlin last week, after years of missing my chances to see them for various reasons. BEST PERFORMANCE I've EVER SEEN. They're 50 ans they still have it !
Totally agree...I got "persuaded" to go see Soulwax around this time, and was honestly getting a bit of tired of raving by this time. Thought I was going to see some knob twiddling (actually thought it might have been "DJ set") and was blown away by the band! One of the best gigs ever. ONE to watch if you are reading: Shelf Lives. www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=shelf+lives+aarte#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:2124c589,vid:CZ2GvvwzAGw,st:0

The musicianship being displayed here is otherworldly, the fact that they’re playing live and it sounds this good....wow. Every note played, every twist of an LFO or cutoff knob, it’s all so spot on, and the drumming too. The Dewaele brothers are the modern day masters of percussive rhythm and dynamics and it’s on full display here.
I don't wanna be a dumb sob-story out of this, but this video has been getting me through some tough shit as of late. It's great to tune out to when either walking around places or doing them house-cleaning blues. There are times when I'm just... Really sad, or really mad. I turn this tune on to escape from that. Thank you for having this around. It's been helping through at least one person's tough times.
This set here shaped the sound of late 2000 in such a way that i think it can already be considered a classic of modern electronic music. When my teenager hands casually stumbled upon Part of The Weekend Never Dies i was blown away thinking i was witnessing the future of electronic music. Future went into a different direction and nothing much is left from that post punk electronic era, still i think this will surely be recognized as seminal in a few years from now
Played a few of the same lineups back in that era, as a live acid house act, and took a lot of really brilliant lessons from these guys. So kind and generous with advice and isights into how they kept their analogue rigs alive on tour (ours kept dying a million deaths). They were untouchable for excitement, dynamics, the unpredictability of vintage gear, and big raw rock and roll space disco synth nerd heaven. Every drop of sweat well earned.
Saw them (this) in Edinburgh 2004. The fkn whole thing literally blew my head off! Right up there as one of the best gigs I have been too. If not THE best!

Pude ir cuando vinieron a Chile, pero solo en formato djset que es otra cosa, de todos modos estuvo maravilloso. Too many DJs son ( fueron?)en formato duo de éstos belgas, e igualmente fué la raja! Osea increible!! Pero tienes razón, la energía de una banda de músicos así tocando como en este video y el sonido que tienen es alucinante.
I hope everyone new watching this goes to check out Soulwax when they tour in October. Been a huge fan for almost 20 years and only seen once, at Irving Plaza in New York, but it's a night I will never forget! I'm not a big concert dancer but I was shaking my bootie all night!
