Hi Becka and Zach, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have now watched everything from the beginning to episode 46. so cool to get an update last episode on where you are in real time☺️By the way I was on Gran Canaria island when you were there. but then I didn't even know about your channel😂😂 I can't wait to follow you guys on youtube, Instagram, tiktok and facebook. You create very good content and take some incredibly beautiful pictures. Keep up the good work and good sailing ahead 🤗 greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Wonderful video! Heck, I would make the same comment as I did in your last video. Your knowledge and comfort levels are really quite astounding given your time at sea. Well Done!
Hark at you Becca sounding like an old Salty of many years sailing!! 🤣🤣 Absolutely brilliant how far you've come, so happy for you both. Your living the dream that I will never experience 😎👍
We make noise, our ambitions are admirable on this journey of life, but the best moments along the way our small, solitary and quiet in my belief. For an instance we see all our efforts for what they are, necessities of our own choice, but we are what we are and it is what it is. We are small in this world but we think big and when we trim to the breeze that there is and not the breeze, there ought to be, the wind will always bring us home. 😀
Hello from Central Oregon USA!!! I've been a subscriber since you bought your boat and love your channel!!!! It's so refreshing to see a handsome young couple living their dreams. You guys are such an inspiration! I'm hoping you research the Pacific Northwest and sail the BC coast while you are on this side of the Atlantic, maybe even take the Northwest passage when you decide to go home! Anyway godspeed to you guys and I can't wait for your next video! Cheers
Hello Bob!! Thanks for following along for so long and for your kind words 😊 We would love to visit Oregon one day. Hopefully sometime in the future we’ll make it to that coast as Zach has some family in BC and it’s meant to be beautiful 😍
Wow what a year in just a few days for me to fallow your adventure!!! It was a blast, emotionally touched by your hi and low moments you are living!!! Keep safe and enjoy every seconds of it! Love you guys from Québec 🇨🇦
I really was looking forward to this episode. I hope to see some episodes from your Atlantic crossing. Hope to come across you guys at some point, hard to find young sailors where I am from... cheers and Ahoy :D
Another fantastic video! Your editing is really getting quit professional with your choice of music, etc.. Happy sailing and best to both. You have really come a long way.
That looks like guavas not prickly pears. I love them. Found your channel just a few days ago and have been loving following your story and see your growth and experiences. Have fun!
I always look forward to your adventures, the trials and tribulations and your learning as you go. Very inspiring. I am at the age now where my journey is different and to dash off and sail the world is something I will leave to you and tell me your story. Cheers. Till next week.
That piece of driftwood had been a great opportunity to do man over board procedures. That is something you should practice regularly so that everyone knows what to do, especially since you are only on the board with 2.
Nice sail indeed. Those double blocks are useful as you can put a length of bungy through the top pulley and attach to the lower guard wire which will stop those blocks on the rail from banging around on the deck. Hope you are having fun in the Caribbean. Andy UK
Guys you run a ketch and then leave your best balanced sail stowed. the jib and jigger rig or jib and mizzen is the easiest to balance as the center of effort are spread fore and aft of the keel and can be used to offset the round up.
Love the Kemp sails. Just ordered mine. Have you tried Wessex teak cleaner? Mine looked like yours, and afterwards it looked like it had just been laid. Easy quick and simple to do.
Thanks for the episode. Be safe and remember your safety gear ;). What's your oppinion, could you manage a boom brake with a dhrs 50kn rescue figure 8 climbing tool? It can take 5t so strength is not an issue.
This was quite funny to hear - There's some quite strong winds coming in so we're heading to an island "Strongwinds" :-)! Learning Spanish is quite a disappointment when it comes to geography - all the exotic location names become quite mundane things! It's great to see your confidence growing!
WORD OF WARNING GUYS !! Please take Notice When handling ropes IE near cleats , winches DO NOT put your hands so close to the them or wrap the rope around your hands as if it goes wrong WHICH IT WILL ONE DAY it will pull you hands/fingers in and you will severly injure youselves . Please stop doing this as it will cause serious injuries Good luck and stay safe
Very true ,one unexpected gust of wind and you could be searching for fingers rolling around on the deck ? I have never sailed but after 40 years as a machinist and toolmaker i have seen some gruesome injuries to people who were experienced who just lost concentration for a moment.
Because you aren't setting those preventers under pressure, you could get away with using frictionless rings and soft Dyneema shackles instead of getting new blocks. Should be cheaper, smaller and neater on the side deck too. Plus those mainsheet blocks (fiddle, becket, cleat & swivel combo) cost a heap of cash and often give if you do gybe with no preventer on. Always good to have a functioning spare to hand just in case... I've been keeping my eye out for a second hand one but without much luck!
Just a suggestion. Why not use low friction rings instead of the blocks. Cheap as chips comparatively and blocks bashing about on deck. Happy sailing and don't forget the sunblock!😄
You ladies can change your hair color easily… you have the same charisma she has and a similar pretty face. Good Halloween costume for you! Dress your guy up as The Doctor.
my god i survived off prickly pairs for like a 2 weeks, the spikes are nasty got so many caught in my hand took days for my body to push the hooks out was so itchy
Hi, wow ur both becoming very knowledgeable sailors. But ur not wearing lifejackets, harnesses or gloves. Please remember anything can happen anytime, good or foul weather. Thankyou u put them on.😁 Zach that's exactly what teeth are for. Just throw the solar panel off!!! 🤣🤣clever Zach.
I know the videos are about 3-4 weeks behind, so you must well into be in the Caribbean by now. I have been watching the winds coming through the Caribbean Sea for the last few weeks (and experiencing them as they blow over the central northern mountain ranges in Costa Rica). We have had regular gusts up to 80kph (50mph) for the past 2 weeks so I imagine the ocean winds must be strong storm winds and they have reported waves up to 10ft pretty much across the southern Caribbean. Stay safe. We watch Mr Weatherman’s channel that covers the whole of the Caribbean.
We have been having some stronger gusts roll through recently but we alway keep an eye on the weather and where the closest protected anchorage is. Thanks for the suggestion John!
Experimentation is the only way to see if your ideas work. Expect to keep trying different iterations until you get the result you are looking for. (The definition of insanity is repeating the same experiment expecting a different outcome.) As I have no experience with sailing I can't say if that will work or not. How ever from what I do understand from watching various sailing TH-cam channels that in principle makes sense. Though wouldn't you want a way to slowly let that line out after you jibe? Can you undo the cleat hitch while the line is under tension and not have the boom just slam over to the other side any way?
Thanks for the wise words Jesse. You can let the line out after you jibe, this system worked fairly well for our last big crossing. However, there is always room for improvement!
Things to do with a can of WD-40. Is the hatch now Waterproof? Nice job with all those blocks and your Mainsail. How many weeks behind are you with your Videos? Episode 161, you informed us you were now in the Bahamas, but 162, you're still in Canaries. Very confusing.
It’s been a pleasure to watch you two transform from sailboat owners to full fledged sailors. Well done.
Thanks Sean, we learn something new everyday 😄
Every Week better and better
Cheers Ruairi 😊
Your story telling is really getting good, very captivating, lovely editing too. Looking forward to next Monday already!
Glad you enjoyed it 😁 Not too long to wait!

PERFECT TIMING!
My morning break and getting to watch your video.
Hope you enjoyed it! 😁
I love the sailing commentary. Keep up with that. Looking forward to your Atlantic crossing vids.
Thank you for this one!
Thanks Rick. More to come!
You two are really embracing sailing life and getting to know your boat very well😊
Thanks Mart, we are learning something new everyday!
Wonderful video!

Thanks David 😁 The sailing community has been incredible and we couldn’t have got this far without everyone who has helped us along the way.
Thank you. Looked like a nice shore break. ❤🙏
Hark at you Becca sounding like an old Salty of many years sailing!! 🤣🤣 Absolutely brilliant how far you've come, so happy for you both. Your living the dream that I will never experience 😎👍
She’s really starting to know her stuff 😅 Cheers Pete 😁
I like the longitude or latitude at the beginning, nice touch
Cheers Jack 😊
Brilliant
Cheers 😊

It was definitely a lovely sail 😌
Once again, thank you. You guys looked so happy, my envy runs deep xxxxxxx
Glad you enjoyed it Michael 😁
@@TeuluTribe I always do, Zac if I were a younger man I would try and steal Becky from you.
Great video
Lovely paced video folks, love the intro//exit, very well done.
Thank you kindly Chris 😊
@@TeuluTribe My pleasure, assume you got my email on that Tech issue!
That piece of driftwood had been a great opportunity to do man over board procedures.
That is something you should practice regularly so that everyone knows what to do, especially since you are only on the board with 2.
We’ve done some man over board stuff before, but it’s always a good idea to do more. Cheers Michael 😊

Love the Kemp sails. Just ordered mine.
Have you tried Wessex teak cleaner? Mine looked like yours, and afterwards it looked like it had just been laid. Easy quick and simple to do.
The team at Kemp are absolutely legends and make some top quality sails! Hope you enjoy them 😊 We have some but haven’t used it yet!
Lovin your work guy’s! ‘Ye bloody doin it’ hope you’ve added some shaded now your in the hot! hot! Mad dogs and all that..
Cheers Oliver, we’ve figured out some ways of staying cool 😅

Thanks this video. Marina price info is good.
Our pleasure!
The preventer idea is great!! Another awesome video guys. We love following and seeing how far you’ve come!
Thanks so much!!
❤❤🥰🥰
Gotta get a mizzen staysail for those downwind passages....
It’s on the list Neil 😊
Zac looks a bit like Alfred the Great!
Haha never heard that one before!
Have you looked at boom brake instead of preventer?
We have thought about one of those but we already had all the equipment needed for a preventer system.

Thanks for the warning Howard, we’ll make sure to keep them well clear!
Thats how I use WD-40 Too!!!
Love some WD-40!

We only used block as we had a load of old ones, I’ll have a look for frictionless rings to replace them with! Thanks for your help 😊
After last week, and the realization you have been on the boat for a year, it is coming up on the time for a new intro.
It’s on our list 🤫
How young do people start drinking tea in the UK ?
I can’t remember when I started…probably 5 or so 😅 Becka isn’t a big tea drinker…but she’s a bit strange.
@@TeuluTribe a Brit that isn't a big tea drinker -- Blasphemy
Just a suggestion. Why not use low friction rings instead of the blocks. Cheap as chips comparatively and blocks bashing about on deck.
Happy sailing and don't forget the sunblock!😄
I meant no blocks !😅
That a good idea David, we used the blocks as we had a load of old ones just sitting around. So it didn’t cost us anything 😊
use wire through the d shackle pins to stop them undoing
Good idea, thanks Jim!
Just noticed how much you look like Amy Pond! You should call “Teulu” the Tardis!🎉😂
I’ve never been told that before 😂 Maybe if I had different coloured hair…
You ladies can change your hair color easily… you have the same charisma she has and a similar pretty face. Good Halloween costume for you! Dress your guy up as The Doctor.
Genoa and mizzen only, no main is also balanced in stronger winds

Thanks 😊 We normally make sure we wear life jackets and harnesses when the weather is a bit rough. Cheers for the suggestion 😁
If I knew where your going next we would send you two pairs of sailing gloves. Pulling sheets in bare hands can lead to awful burns. 😊
Thanks for the offer Antony, if it ever gets to much to pull in we can always just use a winch 😊
57€ would have been pretty cheap in the med 😱
Good thing you can normally anchor instead 😅
