The Gretsch White Falcon is thought to be the cream of the crop by many Gretsch enthusiasts. With it's dazzling looks and graceful tones, the White Falcon can tackle any style imaginable, just look at the wide variety of White Falcon users since the '50s. This all-maple hollow body comes with the 1959 style trestle bracing, which supports the maple top and helps avoid feedback, very useful when paired with a set of High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbuckers. Along with a classic master volume setup, the Gretsch White Falcon 's tonal combinations are quick and easy with an additional 3-way switch for varying degrees of high-frequency rolloff. Shining bright on the body are a gold space control roller bridge and Bigsby Vibrato for very musical pitch bends both up and down. And it wouldn't be a Gretsch White Falcon without the gold sparkle binding, just about everywhere on this guitar from the f-holes to the V-shaped headstock. The unique Gretsch sound is completed by the crisp Ebony fingerboard loaded with Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays and 22 frets set with a 12" radius.

I've never played a Gretsch, so I can't speak from experience, but I'm pretty sure the cheaper electromatic Gretschs are still great guitars and would have a similar tone to the white falcon. The reason is a white falcon costs 3k is not necessarily because it actually sounds 4 times better than an $800 Gretsch (don't get me wrong I'm sure it sounds a lot better) but rather because it is a work of art with outstanding craftsmanship (have you ever seen one in person? They're absolutely beautiful)

I used to think this guitar is ugly but I have come to the realization that it's hot.
First song he plays is Mr Soul by Buffalo Springfield (Neil Young). Great looking and sounding guitar. I am partial to the Black Falcon with TV Jones pickups, but the White Falcon is a classic.

i've seen many people play fingerstyle, but the way you replicate the attack of a pick and the tone of using your fingers, andy really has perfected finger pickin.

I actually bought mine used at Guitar Center for only $1,560. Money well spent I love it.
i own one of these....difficult guitars to master...but once you get used to them...there is nothing like them :)

Btw guys this version of the guitar is if I'm n mistaken in the 4k- 6k range the 12k is a replica of the first made as a showpiece for NAMM and has a "Cadillac" tailpiece as well as a vertical gretch loon on the headstock

@trentwalker98 I really think a lot of it boils down to the blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. That amp is fantastic at allowing guitars and pedals to sound the way the good Lord intended. I think a lot of amps can have a very focused tone, which is great for that particular sound. But I feel like the Fender Blackfaces do a great job of acting chameleon-like. The Princeton and Vibrolux are very much the same way, just obviously at a different volume.

gretsch makes the best hollowbody guitars by far, don't know many other guitars that can match this except maybe the ES-335

@ProGuitarShopDemos He is talking about the one with Duncan Designed DynaSonic Pickups, and has Gretsch written in vertical on the Headstock. It costs upwards of $9500

It has a roller bridge,
so it will hold tune fairly well,
but the only trem that works perfectly is a floyd rose...
this thing isn't made for playing eruption on it
I think an Epiphone casino or any acoustic with piezo pickups will work fine
it seems that the sound it's been compressed
