    I really like that it's possible to slide the rear seats, allowing you to choose between passenger and cargo space. When I tested the ID.4, I thought what a waste that you can't slide the bench forward. Leg room is nice, but too much doesn't add any comfort. It just costs you cargo space.

    So many videos on TH-cam talking about the platform design and all the space... this is the only 2nd video I've seen that even shows the seats folded down. This is the most useful video I've seen on this car so far. Also, I always watch all these videos on other EVs and they show small compartments under the boot (trunk) and boast how useful that is for storing your charging cables, etc. and I'm always thinking how useless that would be to have to unpack your car on a roadtrip to get to a small compartment to use a charger that requires a cable or an adapter and just as I was thinking it you said it - much better to have things like this and maybe a first aid kit, warning triangles where required, etc. in the small frunk if you can, away from all your luggage or groceries.

      @bilgyno1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They've been overwhelmed by demand for the car. They already upped the planned froduction for 2021 from 70k to 90k, and later on decided to cut back capacity for fossil cars and focus more on EVs. But they really should have anticipated this and planned for 500k vehicles per year... I'm sure the Kia EV6 will also be a success, as well as the upcoming models like the Ioniq 6 and 7, so maybe they should build capacity to make >2 million e-GMP cars per year. That should drive costs down as well.

    Thank you Bjorn for doing this test properly by optimising the position of the rear seat. So many other reviews have failed to take this into account when looking at the cargo space.
    Even though I’ll have to cancel my preorder of the Ioniq 5 with the pricing and availability here in Australia not making sense when compared to the Model 3, it is nice to see that the majority of what I had hoped of this car when I put down my money early this year has turned out positively.

    So, I requested a test drive at my local Hyundai dealership in the UK online yesterday. I received an email back asking after the financial side of things and saying that they’d call me this morning before I came down. 25 mins before the test drive I call them and it turns out they don’t even have the vehicle to test. I don’t care how good your vehicle is, if you can’t get the customer care side of things right you aren’t getting my money.

    • @chillmeister

      And the response back from the dealer: “As I mentioned on the phone to you, it was my manager who responded last night not myself. We have still taken a number of orders with out a demo model car.
      As I explained on the phone, if you do not wish to order one until the car onsite that’s fine. Delivery time is 20 weeks currently.”
      Cheeky bugger. How about “As explained on the phone, I’ll pass back this feedback to my manager who sent the email and when we get a demonstrator you’ll be first to know”

    Can you include a few words about LASHING POINTS in your tests?
    If you transport HEAVY stuff, those are essential for safety.
    Big cargo space is useless for me, if I cannot tie down my stuff anywhere.
