Back in the day, when you could do these kinds of things, I wrote to Bob Seger about a song on this album, "Ship of Fools". I thought I had the song figured out--it seemed to me very intimate in nature--and I asked him if I was right. He wrote me back and said, "The song is about whatever you think it's about." Nice guy!
Great deep cut. And a classic album through and through. Wore it out on 8track back in the 70s and had to buy another one. There's a great song from the classic Against the Wind album that gets overlooked that you would enjoy. It's the last song of a great album which is probably why. It's called Shining Brightly.
The first release of this song was be Ann Peebles and was called “Come to Momma”. Bob version is slightly different. They changed a couple word to make it little less nasty. His voice alone can do all the nasty needed. Though the guitar helps.
As always Brother 👍👍 Please 🙏 dive deep into the "Live Bullet" album! It's Bob in the '70s from Kobo Hall in Detroit and you will be a changed man!! The real Bob🤙 Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
Poppa, apart from the ballads, the whole album was rougher, more blues rock, actually up to and including the fantastic live album Live Bullet in 1976. I love his live albums because the songs don't have such terrible fades out and are musically more mature.👍
Loved his bluesy side. Many layers to Segers music 🎶

Brotherman, you've been killin' it with great, great music lately. Top Shelf tunes and commentary. Thanks for all the hard work.
