Bob made me fall in love with music. Honest straight forward lyrics. Bob didn't play the corporate game, he wrote and played his own songs when and where he wanted.
Ugh, you make me feel old... 🙂 To say that you've never heard of Bob Seger, to me, is like saying that you've never heard of Beethoven. This song came out in the 1976 and was all over the radio. It probably is on the sound track of multiple movies but, it was never featured. His song Turn The Page, from '73 is an iconic and amazing song by him. Great reaction. Thanks!
As mentioned, the young man is Matt LeBlanc, a year or two before he became Joey. He was friends with the video director, Wayne Isham (who has an impressive list of music videos he’s directed. He cast Matt as a favor. Just before this, Matt also had a small part in the Tom Petty video Into the Great Wide Open with Johnny Depp and Faye Dunnaway. Nostalgia In Greek, nostalgia means literally, the pain from an old wound. It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. And it takes us to a place where we ache to go again
Drives ins were the big dating opportunity for many teens in small towns. He was not talking about an abandoned theater, as he was wanting to make some drive in news. The movies themselves were so lousy that they were an afterthought, and the indestructible speakers in the window felt like 20lbs. The video was merely representative of the times.
This song came out in 1976, on his album of the same name. Bob is Phenomenal and is my favorite artist of all time. He’s a fantastic lyricist, singer and story teller. He touches your soul and takes you back to a time. His “Like a rock” and “ against the wind” should be on your radar. Really anything by Bob is great, can’t go wrong

I seen Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in 1976 or1977 at a little auditorium in Birmingham Al. only seated 1500 people it was awesome good memories. My buddy called and said you want to see Bob Seger only cost 6 bucks i think it was, it was good times 70s were a lot of fun . i was 16-17. But the greatest thing i did in my life was Rededicating my life to Jesus Christ about 10 years ago . ROMANS 10:9-10, ROMANS 10:13, ACTS 2:21 . DONT WAIT HE IS COMING BACK SOONER THAN YOU THINK I LOVE YALL . JESUS IS LORD
Nostalgia comes from the greek nostos (return) and algos (pain). It is the pain or suffering that comes from wanting to return home. He is remembering the past and this girl he claims he had no love for ("we weren't in love -- oh no, far from it"). It was summertime, the summer of his youth. They spend the summer together "practicing" their "night moves," but go their own ways at the end. The "thunder" was the protagonist as an adult ("with autumn closing in") remembering this time, and realizing how much he really felt for the girl. All he has now is this pain of remembrance. The song is so beautifully written and performed, and it has brought tears to my eyes upon hearing it since 1976.
great pick , thanks. Seger had great bands from late '60s on. silver bullet band name came about in maybe '73 or so there is a story about that, lots of stories about this bunch, some are songs. (like turn the page). 30yrs of doing 200 gigs a year makes lots of stories. and memories.
Thanks for your reaction. Bob Seger's music seems to get better with age. I look forward to your reaction to my Ko-fi donation, for Angelina Jordan singing "I Put a Spell On You".
This song came out, and was a big hit well before there were music videos. This video was done much later. Probably sometime in the ninety's. Definitely one of Bob's best.
Not from a film, and from the mid 1970s, not the 90s. Much of Bob Seger's music is nostalgic in nature. Heck, he's been making me feel nostalgic since I was about 17 -far too young to feel nostalgic and nearly 50 years ago. He just has had a magic way of passing along the nostalgia for the lives he remembers, and allowing us to share in those feelings, and insert our own memories into the feelings.
Bob started back in the late 60s and first charted with 2+2 and Ramblin Gamblin Man. He didn't form the Silver Bullet Band officially until 1993. Bob Seger is known as the Detroit Boy that is one of the best story tellers and reflects upon life in many ways. Plenty of Bob Seger to listen to from 2 + 2, Night Moves; Running Against the Wind; Like a Rock; Shamed by the Moon; Turn the Page; Just Roll With it ; You'll Accompany Me; and Main Street to name just a few.
Oh yeah, Bob Seger is the real deal. So many great songs from him for you to discover. Thanks for sharing this one. Speaking of memories, you should listen to Bob Seger's Like A Rock.
In the early nineties Bob seger remastered all his greatest hits and made a few videos. I think what's throwing you is Matt LeBlanc in the video and everybody knows him from the TV show Friends. As far as Seger's music goes. Listen to it all. The album live bullet is one of the best albums ever made.
@@jackjohnson7714 Can't really argue with that. Just throwing out what Rolling Stone said. They also said Seger was only the 181st best vocalist of all time. So there's that 🤔
Love the song (1976) and hate the video (1994). The song perfectly engages our memories. And it is doubtful that any video can compete with ones memories. This video seems to be mainly nostalgia for drive-in movie theaters: sneaking in, flirting, sex in cars. It’s Weekend at Porky’s meets Friends. There is no sense of years passing, perspective changing, the bittersweet remembering. Maybe the clips of Bob playing the guitar were supposed to.
Bob has been a big for my wife and I. We started our dating time with His wonderful songs. When we were married this was our first concert together . We have had 43 years listening as big fans. So glad you opened this door. Bob has a huge prolific run of some wonderful top storytelling and top-notch Albums.
All of his songs tell a story, and it's usually one most of us can relate to. He's authentic and sings from the heart about life experiences and feelings we all have. He's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a reason. I saw him in concert in Detroit in the early '80s and it was awesome start to finish. As someone said below, he doesn't have a bad song, so you can't go wrong. But if you're looking for others to review I've always liked "Roll Me Away" and "Hollywood Nights."

Now I feel old...Seeger was big when I was in high school in the late 70's, and this was just one of many great songs he did. Hearing it now takes me back to many, many Saturday nights at the local drive in. Turn A Page (later covered by Metallica) is another favorite. I think you'd like Get Out of Denver; he sings it as fast as you talk when you get excited 😁.

I remember when the song came out. I was a senior in college in 1976 working at the radio station on campus, and I played the song on my show. A few months later, I was in the production studio, working on my night moves to this song with a crush that I'll never forget. I remember driving across country in 1978 and hearing it again, months after the break-up. I totally lost it. I had to pull off the road and listen. Bob's a great storyteller. Thanks for bringing up old memories! 🙂
Just to clear up something. This song came out in the seventies. I was in my mid twenties. This is one song that only got better over the year. You should check out turn the page. Another banger Peace ✌️
I am 66 years old, been to a bunch of concerts ....... A LOT OF CONCERTS!. Saw Bob Segar for the first time during his farewell tour and it was one of the best, if not the best, concerts I have ever seen. Never realized how many top 100 hits this artist recorded in his career. Loved how he paid homage to the greats who have come and gone with pictures of them on the stage back drop. A very memorable night. TY BS for the music you left us and TY for reacting.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this song hits you a lot different when you’re in the Autumn of your life. Ain’t it funny how the night moves. With autumn closing in. When I was young it was a song of hope and promise. At 57 it’s a bittersweet reminder that those days are long gone but also remembering how sweet they were.
Night Moves was a big hit for Seger in 1976. If it has been used in films, they were all well after that. Seger is one of the greatest songwriters in rock history (IMO). Great voice & most of his songs tell a story. (Like a Rock, Still the Same, We've Got Tonight, Hollywood Nights, Against the Wind, Her Strut, Katmandu, Mainstreet, Rock and Roll Never Forgets...and Turn the Page... which has been covered many times)
Quite a few of Bob Seger's songs are about nostalgia and reminiscing about youth. You should check out "Against the Wind", "Old Time Rock n' Roll", and "Making Thunderbirds" for a vision of simpler times gone by.
THE FIRE DOWN BELOW, LIKE A ROCK, and TURN THE PAGE are great songs by Bob Seger to listen and react to. Your intro is fine, your outro is fine. Just remember to never pause during a guitar solo, maybe before or after, but never during. It is considered disrespectful to the player to interrupt. I remember thus dong on the 7o's when it first came out. I was happy when the video was added in the 9o's as a re-release to a new audience. Keep it going and enjoy.
Bob Seger Gave his band credit by adding them to the billing. Much like Merle Haggard and The Strangers and Paul McCartney and Wings. Night Moves was never associated with a movie.
this song was done in 1976 but the video was not done until the 1990s due to such a high demand for one. Bob wrote this song about young love and experiencing sexual freedom for the first time. looking back on the days gone by. Life is bitter sweet and you can't go back, so live in the moment, put the phones down and live in that moment. we don't have to film everything, because when you do you only see in through a screen shot and don't actually live it
I understand where you're coming from, but some of the best memories were ones I get to watch over and over again because I recorded them with my phone and kept them in my personal archive. and looking back, I have very few pictures or videos of my childhood because my family never cared to keep those types of memories for me, and so I don't remember much of my life before I was an adult. everything before the age of 16 was a blur, and that's the age when I started taking my own pictures and archiving my own memories, without my family's help. I think archiving memories through a "screen" can be beneficial when used properly, and choosing not to do so can leave holes and missing pieces in one's memories while trying to reminisce on good times.
As others have mentioned, "Turn the Page" would be a great one to do next. You might even want to make a double reaction with Metallica's cover of it which is even sadder, the music video I'm speaking of here.
Pick any one of the songs recommended below and give it a listen. You'll like it. Pick a 2nd one and you'll like it too. But probably for a different reason.
You've probably heard Bob in commercials, like a rock, gheby, and Risky business the movie Tom Cruise dances in his underwear......made him a star......

I remember driving across country in 1978 and hearing it again, months after the break-up. I totally lost it. I had to pull off the road and listen. Bob's a great storyteller. Thanks for bringing up old memories! 🙂
thank you so much for sharing your story with me :)
Pete Seeger was a folk singerfrom the 50s. He may have some Christmas music.
This whole album has a theme of nostalgia to it
Night Moves was a big hit for Seger in 1976.
No it wasn't written for a movie but it has been all over the place
Quite a few of Bob Seger's songs are about nostalgia and reminiscing about youth. You should check out "Against the Wind", "Old Time Rock n' Roll", and "Making Thunderbirds" for a vision of simpler times gone by.
Nostalgia never goes out of style, does it? Great timeless rock music. 5:05 wait is that Joey from Friends!? LOL
Great Rock music will always stay great!
Nice to see you smile, it's lovely❤
✌❤🎶🎶❤✌ Thanks! I've listen to this so many times. Glad to see someone younger like it. Talk all you want!😃
That's Joey from Friends before Friends.
You like it now, listen to it when you're 40 or so, it will really hit you in the nostalgia's.
THE FIRE DOWN BELOW,
LIKE A ROCK,
and TURN THE PAGE are great songs by Bob Seger to listen and react to.
Main Street or Like a Rock and this would be a nice rabbit hole to go down in
I saw this song live in 1976.
Bob Seger Gave his band credit by adding them to the billing. Much like Merle Haggard and The Strangers and Paul McCartney and Wings. Night Moves was never associated with a movie.
A lovely, insightful analysis, young lady. ❤
this song was done in 1976 but the video was not done until the 1990s due to such a high demand for one.
How is it possible to have never heard Seger ....
Listening to old-time music with Jessie...
Hollywood Nights! Great Bob Seger song . I'll be looking for it. Thanks.
You must have come across Old Time Rock & Roll? Huge hit for him, actually all his songs were huge hits. Thanks for your reaction.
oh yes, I know that one! very iconic song 🙂
Hollywood nights is another great song by Bob Seeger
Seger does not write all of his songs, but whatever song he gets to record are outstanding.
Try “Turn the Page” by this group! It’s the best in my opinion
I woke up last night and started humming a song from 1992.
I sure remember those nights at the drive in movie. Times were so much different then.
He was simply talking about adolescent life in the 70's.
Loved your reaction, you have a new subscriber. Seger has an endless amount of great music, each song has him giving you another side or sound.
The man guy in the video was from the show ( Friends ) the girl is from the show Melrose place
Drive in were so popular back in the day!
Hello new friend! Thanks for the reaction to an all time favorite!!!
Matt LeBlanc from Friends played the younger version of Seger in the music video
You've probably heard Bob in commercials, like a rock, gheby, and Risky business the movie Tom Cruise dances in his underwear......made him a star......
IMO if you didn't grow up the 70's, you missed out on a lot of good times and great music
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on the song Night Moves from Bod Seger And The Silver Built Band . Yes this is a great song from Him but My favorite is Turn The Page . The Song Metallic covered.that Flowers May know.
You never heard of Bob Seger? You are making me feel ancient!
