    I have watched at least one dozen reviews of this vehicle, and yours is the first that actually showed / demonstrated the complete functionality of the exterior lighting. Over a dozen reviews and no one even mentioned the puddle lamps, and no one showed the fog lights turning on as the wheels turned. Thanks you so much for your review, and for making me want the vehicle even more.

    Great review, this car have won almost everything that have been throw at it, Car of the Year, in UK it have beaten Jaguar, BMW and Audi in several comparisons.

    I have a 2012 XC60 and it has the rear fog light. It's a bright red marker light that helps other vehicles see you in bad weather so they don't follow too close. I've only ever turned it on twice just to see what it did. The following explanation is copy/pasted directly from my owner's manual:
    The rear fog light is considerably brighter
    than the normal taillights and should be
    used only when conditions such as fog, rain,
    snow, smoke or dust reduce visibility for
    other vehicles to less than 500 ft.

    Thanks for a great video! I think the force is indeed strong with Volvo. The XC40 seems to be the class leader.

    Thank you for the review. Is the blind spot really a problem? Or can the side mirrors assist with that issue?

    Love your videos, but this one seems mixed. A lot of negatives. Do you recommend the car?

    Another great review, I’m actually cross shopping this with a Golf R because they are priced similarly. I’m currently driving a Subaru Crosstrek and am trying to decide if I want to stay in a crossover or move to a performance car.

    Thanks man, I was waiting for you to review this vehicle. I’ve been looking to get this since it’s on my list of cars I’m looking at. I know this is a silly question but how would you compare this to something like a Mazda CX-5? I know one brand is luxury and the other brand is trying to put its foot in the door but I’m really curious how the Mazda fairs against Volvo’s crossover. Thanks again for the review, love your videos. 🙂👍

      Volvo is far superior

    • @alexandermartincausey7333
      @alexandermartincausey7333 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually, closer than you might think. The CX-5, particularly in the higher trim levels, is a hugely nice vehicle. Both have fantastic seats. Both have striking interior and exterior design. The Volvo edges it out in nearly everything else though. The Mazda doesn't even offer autonomous driving aids, but it's such a nice vehicle to drive. The Mazda's interior has a lot of wood and a more earthy feel, whereas the Volvo is more sterile and modern. The Volvo's infotainment screen is better, and it'll be safer, but the Mazda will be cheaper to own by a long shot. Consider both vehicles and drive both vehicles. See which one you like the best, but I'd be very proud to have either one in my driveway.

    Hello from the western part of Sweden, not far from the headquarter of Volvo in the town of Gothenburg. I talked to a guy rather high up in the Volvo hierarchy, he told me that the front of the XC40 was designed after a French bulldog. If you look closely, you can see the resemblance.

    The only problem I have with it is it looks a little short and stubby. Could have been 4-6 inches longer. But then I suppose they would have to make the XC60 and XC90 that much longer as well.

    I absolutely hated our Auto Start/Stop feature on our 2015 XC60. Does this feature turn on by default every time you start the car or can you permanently disable this? There is virtually ZERO gas savings from these gimmicks.

    • @Littleathquakes
      @Littleathquakes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logan Boyd you can permanently disable it from the main settings screen in Sensus. If you disable it from the center console button that he showed it will restart the next time you start the car.

    • @loganboyd
      @loganboyd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, Permanent disablement would be fine.That feature if dangerous! If you slowly roll into a turn lane where you will turn across traffic and have to wait a second for a space to turn and then the engine kills right before you go then the power steering dies and you have to wait a second or two before power is restored to the drivetrain. I'd love for anyone to show me a spreadsheet that says this saves any amount of gas of pollution that's measurable and meaningful. I'm sure it ticks some box for them but the consumers suffer because of it.

    Great review dude, I’m very interested in this Volvo, one question: what about the wind noice with all windows up can you hear it easily??
    It will be the first time I am between this XC 40 and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, I know they aren’t the same. I want to save money in a long term. Thank for that review and for the answer in advance!

    Sadly dozens of orders were cancelled because the Care By Volvo program doesn't work in USA. I ordered mine in December, arrived to USA in March and they promised me that I was going to receive it in beginning of april, then end of april, hen beginning of may, then end of may, last week "end of this week" today in 15 days.
    Volvo doesnt reply at all, not even geely the owner of Volvo. is a shame, is the worse customer service I could imagine and no one is helping

    For that price I think the new RDX is a better deal. We are debating these two for our next vehicle. XC40 is a sub-compact while the RDX is a compact so you get a bit more room. The XC40 is very cool looking and I love the infotainment screen.

    You do not have it is US but this Volvo so much limited compared to the Skoda Karoq practicality!
    Rear seats removable and adjustable- you will not have it on any Volvo in this class and also higher 60 series class!

      Forrest's Auto Reviews
      No problem although I've noticed certain TH-cam car reviewers get a little carried away with the "club-style" music remixes throughout the car review. It was an informative review for the most part and you've definitely improved your cinematography over the past few years since I first found your channel. FYI......that was the auto brake hold button at 09:40 videomark. The auto stop/start button is located within the infotainment system, on the same page as the driver safety tech features.

      Right, and before that it was Ford. Volvo is certainly better cared for now as the Chinese usually have a 5-10 year plan while Americans only look to the end of the quarter.
