I found through using infinite health that the "sniper" is actually just bullets shot from the player camera or just directly behind it. You can control where the "sniper" bullets shoot even when standing still by rotating the camera around. I like walking around peds while holding the camera quite low down, so that they walk between Arthur and the camera, they all get shot!

The invisible sniper is one of the worst things to exist in a video game. Period. At least in RDR1 you can explore the whole map without any real gimmicks after the first mission.
Well technically in RDR1 the bridges to Mexico and West Elizabeth were down, and John instantly died when he set foot in water. (Which was explained in RDR2 that he apparently can't swim and is even terrified of water) And I believe the invisible sniper in RDR2 was put there because the devs WERE going to originally allow Arthur to explore New Austin, but most likely couldn't finish everything in time for the game's release. So they simply threw in the sniper at the last minute.
Yeah but it sounds close enough that you get it in context, which is neat if not uncommon for a human, and a remarkable step up for an artificial voice.
I heard that they did it because being in hot climates like new Austin would greatly help against tuberculosis so Arthur hanging around their would not make him dying of TB make sense, but I don’t know if that is valid

Well like everywhere else, you're not just wanted in the city. Commit a crime in valentine and you're wanted all over new Hanover. I think they wanted some content exclusive to the epilogue. It's mentioned a few times how if you go near black water, you'll be killed. Like before the rescue mission with Sean, how Micah wants to go back and Arthur says how foolish it is and I think there's dialogue with Javier. There's probably many more examples too. It would hurt the immersion if they say in cut scenes it's a death sentence to go there but you can in free roam. But it would be nice if after your first play through, you could go there. Like a new game plus, added difficulty and other stuff. They people doing this have already beat the game, probably multiple times so neither of my reasons, content and immersion matter. Maybe there's other reasons
If you don't patch the game, you just replay the mission "Angelo Bronte, Man of Honor" and get spotted by police in the cemetery, then escape and finish the mission. After that, just go into the southern part of the map and no lawmen or invisible snipers bother you unless you start a massacre or otherwise draw attention. I completed every challenge as Arthur using that method. Only things I couldn't do were trigger final fishing mission and taxidermy mission, which you have to be John to do. Everything else can be done as Arthur using that glitch.

told myself i wouldn’t go to that part of the map because i don’t want to deal with that “sniper” but now i really want Arthur to wear the legend of the east outfit 😂

The most annoying thing about this was the amount of times I had to find a buggy and drive it all the way across the map. But once I got the hang of things and stopped over thinking, this actually turned out to be pretty easy. Thank you bro you’re a legend 👍

I remember my friend encountered a glitch were even after leaving new Austin the sniper kept shooting, even after reloading the auto save and closing app and re opening it wouldn’t stop. He’d even get shot in camp. Worst part was he had done this in Chapter5 and his only hardsave was all the way back in the beginning of chapter 2. Which would basically mean restarting the whole game. Mind you he had collected all satchels, crafted all the clothing that was available from the trapper, all other challenges, most collectables, was doing mission gold medals as he went along. It was heartbreaking. He uninstalled and reinstalled and it wouldn’t end, so he dropped the game entirely. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t played since than, 2yrs I believe
Did this once to complete all challenges as Arthur, I had the most luck in the buggy. This takes A LOT of patience and trial and error. Especially if you are trying to hunt the three legendary animals in New Austin. One thing I read that made my time easier was wearing the Marion helmet, the one with the big red feather sticking up. You can see it pass through the roof of the buggy and it tells you easily where Arthur is so you can line up getting out of the buggy easier.
Something HUGE I found extremely useful for those who have trouble finding the correct angle to avoid being sniped til you reach the herb. Set a marker to your herb, and just aim a gun while your moving, aim straight down and the sniper will just hit the roof of the buggy and the horse auto runs max speed the path set by the marker. You can just hold the left trigger and just wait till you arrive at the herb. The horse ai auto corrects out of the way of civilians. Wont follow train tracks and traveling the paths mean more likely to come across a lawman who will pursue you immiedently, the buggy can outrun them but stack up on health items
When engaging in gunfights on horse, the horse continues moving at the current speed you are running and doesn't slow down when you aim. The horse auto runs straight if you are offroad but will follow paths and auto turn so you don't crash into something when shooting.
There's a way to get to NA and not have the sniper active. I did it while exploring accidentally once. I was in Flat Iron Lake messing with the boats. If you get close to the ones in the area that forces Arthur to drown, they sink, FAST. One didn't sink and I got onboard. Then it turned and headed to the deathwater. It popped up in the air while I was jumping to get over part of the ship and it sent me forward slowly and WAY up into the air. I landed in the water not far from the opposite shore. I explored that area and it dropped me into Guarma. No sniper. I explored again and got lost WAY off the far end of Guarma. It dropped me into Mexico, but it was flooded. I took breaks and eventually made it to NA. The water disappeared, I had no sniper, and I could explore freely. Once you die there, the sniper is back.
@DrJamesMarcusUmbrellaif you want an easier glitch than this, do the first person slide glitch to get across flat iron and then ride all around the map to new Austin and you should be good too

If you botch the wagon camera angle when you try to pick the herb, immediately pause the game and keep on pausing every split second which resets the sniper's timer to shoot. what is it like a sniper shot every 2 seconds? Well it goes back to 0 seconds every time you spam pause. Edit: forgot to mention it works on pc I haven't tried it on console yet
Guys I did it! I took me more than 20 times to get the herbs! I did on XBOX One using a controller. The hardest part was getting the Currant, man... I took ALL day long to finish. Thank's to the GREAT tutorial.

The other way to collect all the plants and treasures without being killed is in the mission of Angelo Bronte, it is a bug that allows you to go to New Austin without being chased by the pinkerton or killed by the sniper.
Yes, unfortunately it was patched so you would need a physical copy of the game and go offline to do this now. Though that would probably be easier than this method...

There is only one condition for the method to work and that is to do it for the first time and not die because if you die the bug no longer works and you lose everything you have collected even if you load the checkpoint you can not do the bug again.
the trick to this is to never see (on screen) Arthur's head. Step out of the vehicle, while blocking arthur's head with the roof. DO NOT touch camera to adjust. ONLY hold button to pick plant. after picking plant and saving... hold button to get back in vehicle and get ready to keep camera on the roof and blocking arthur's head as arthur gets in( keep the camera blocking his head with the roof on ur screen at all times and u should be fine). u got this with practice. the roof is key. get arthur his challenge drip
Thank you so much! I was able to get all four herbs with your help. The first time I got 3, but messed up the camera angle on the black currant and Arthur took one to the dome. But the second time I got it. It was a rare pleasure just to sit there and watch the sniper fire away knowing I had completed this. I savored that moment.
Fun fact time. RDR2 got rushed to release, so a lot of parts of the game actually ended up different than intended. Bear with me for a second here. Theres this glitch you can do, where you can roam around new austin as arthur without needing to worry about the sniper at all. when doing it early on and healthy, the locals in armadillo just get pissy and tell you to screw off etc, and arthur will comment on the plague. But when arthur is dying of tb, if you show up, theres unique voice lines from the npc's just for Arthur himself. "Jeez, you look worse than us." Arthur also has unqiue dialogue on the ranch in new austin, stating "this is some beautiful property" as he walks around. Arthur is also able to order chili and roast beef in tumbleweed, tho there is missing voice dialogue. Arthur also has unique interactions and voice lines with the del lobos gang. Meaning that there was originally meant to be a chapter with arthur in new austin, but they ran out of time while working on it and had to change plans. All of this points to the conclusion that read dead redemption 2 was Rockstar souths love baby, a game they intended to be even longer and more in depth than it already was, and that fucking love child of theirs got crushed by the joining of north and south to work on the stupid gta ultimate trilogy flop as well as gta 6. Dont get me wrong, it's one of the best games ever produced, but the reason its so buggy, so glitchy, crashes so much, and feels incomplete in ways, its because it literally is incomplete. the coding was rushed and forced. the story line started meticulous and then got rushed. the y did their best to give us a great game, and knocked it out of the park. but i suspect rdr2 is a far cry from what Rockstar south actually inteded. i suspect they meant it to be an open world experience that had choices that matter. a game that might have rivaled the elder scrolls in sheer open world content. Sadly we will never fucking know, because rockstar corporate is a bunch of greedy, filthy, rat fucking bastards. At least we know where the inspiration for micah's character comes from though BAHAHAHAHAHA
i pray every week, that R* get's the eff off of their high horse and listens to us... and finally releases DLC content for this masterpiece. Undead Nightmare 2, more side content, gun tricks, New Austin for Arthur (under special circumstances,) Mexico, Guarma being fleshed out and reachable after the missions, all online clothes for Arthur and John, with black leather and ponchos. More outfit space and the ability to store different versions of Arthur's hat, which was probably already intended. Build upon the excellent horror parts. Generally, just more stuff to buy and possibly some sandbox elements that seemed to be a good fit for such a detailed game. There's still a huge market for it. I'd pay at least the full price of a AAA game to see that content.

I’m on attempt 6 now, getting tired of the ride from Saint Denis, but I’ve acquired the first two plants, and I’ve made it to the part of the map that contains the final two, so I have hope. ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: make sure you have your 3rd person camera view at the furthest view, that way when you harvest the plant the camera angle doesn’t get you sniped. also, while in the buggy keep a weapon drawn and you can auto ride (saving your thumb some pain), and you can have more time to focus on the camera angle, it helps a LOT.
I really dislike the invisible sniper nonsense. It would have been enough to send endless cops after you, the sniper is just them saying you'll play the way THEY want, or you won't play at all.
i wish if the sniper is an actual AI that is supposed to be a legendary bounty hunter or something and you can see him chase you on horse, and they should make it nearly impossible to kill him
Would have been awesome if later in the epilogue you meet them as one of Sadies friends. Would have done a lot for world immersion, but this game wasn't given enough time in the oven to iron out these features exactly as the developers would have wished. We can be grateful for what we got at least. I'm sure a skilled modder could rework this sniper to a legendary bounty hunter.
Finally finished herbalist 9 and even sold the buggy to the fence in Emerald Ranch.. this one really frustrated me, but after 5 tries I finally succeeded to get all the 4 herbs🎉

@@HeddvildNoSwitch to Photo Mode in the Pause Menu for consoles to extend your "3rd-Person Field of View." As for picking up the herbs, angle the camera upward to the buggy's back right corner. Then adjust it as Arthur exits the buggy & picks up the herbs.
That's pretty bad ass. The Legendary Pronghorn would be awesome to get in Chapter 2. The Fence makes you a talisman that keeps animals you put on your horse from spoiling with the Legendary Pronghorn.
U have to practice to find the sweet spot to pick up the herb so the camera doesn't pop through the wagon. Find a Appleseed wagon the sweet spot is easier.
For those struggling to get past West Elizabeth without having the buggy wrecked by Pinkertons and their semi-auto firepower (I read they were more aggressive after chapter 2, not sure if it's really the case), I recommend you wait for them to spawn on the right just after entering Beecher's Hope, then kill them all in dead eye, using a weapon with a fairly large magazine and good range like the Lancaster repeater, except for one that you leave behind by killing his horse (otherwise you might have a new wave spawn pretty fast). Then you can lose them going towards Thieves' Landing, avoiding a new posse that should spawn from Tall Trees, coming from a path on the right. But make sure you lost them before crossing the bridge to Thieves' Landing, otherwise you might be facing a new bunch spawning right past it, and there you'd be pretty much doomed as you'd have to survive them plus the sniper. Also, it's not specified in the video, but you have to switch to the furthest camera distance, in addition to tweaking the camera settings in the menu. Otherwise, when Arthur picks the herbs, the camera will zoom across the buggy and you'll get killed instantly. Might be useful to switch the compass to "extended" as well, in order to better see the Pinkertons coming and get a broader view of the paths. One last thing, but very important: Shoot the buggy's lights with a bow, or they might get shot by a firearm and explode, which will result in Arthur and the horse getting roasted and the buggy collapsing. Also, when you break them, watch out for the horse as it'll get spooked and try to run away. You'll have to get in quick and stop the buggy after breaking the first one, then break the second one and get in before the horse runs away. Did it today, took me 7 attempts to figure out all that, but once I had the hang of it, it was almost a walk in the fine park of Hennigan's Stead. Might wanna save in Saint-Denis so you can reload without having to go all the way back nor losing a few stacks of bills upon dying. Hope this helps, wish I knew it before attempting this mad trip !
thanks man, i can confirm btw after chapter 2 more lawmen spawn at different places and they can sometimes shoot you through the wagon. the easiest way is the one, where you meet javier near blackwater. they always spawn at the exact spot shon in the video

If it interests anyone, there is a mod for the PC version of RDR 2 that removes the Invisible Snipers in both New Austin and Guarma, its on Nexusmods and is called: "Disable Out Of Bounds Snipers" It may sound a bit cheaty to remove them, but I find the whole concept a bit ridiculous, for this random sniper bloke to be able to insta-kill you, besides, getting past the horde of Pinkertons that Spawn is a challenge enough.
Dude the most annoying part about doing this is that if you die and then reload the save, the stupid buggy doesn’t spawn back and you have to go ALL THE WAY back to Saint Denis to get another one
The dumbest thing is how the sniper is shooting at your back, and then when you turn around and go back the way you came he's still shooting at your back!

first from this channel I’ve watched, voiceover sounds like the guy who did the Agency voice from Crackdown doing an impression of Arthur. Thoroughly enjoyable.
To anyone struggling with this: Make a separate save at Fort Riggs and use the spawn buggy cheat. Get some easy practice in and it saves you driving 10 minutes to get to new Austin every time. Once you feel confident, go back to the normal save and do it for real. Also don’t spam the sprint button because Arthur will sometimes sit up in the buggy and you can get killed very easily.
@@rishitshah4338 I'm almost a year late and I'm sure you looked it up by now lmao. Pause and go to settings. Hit whatever button it says for enter a cheat code. Then type in, "Keep your dreams light" and it'll unlock the cheat. Keep in mind though, unlocking the cheat is fine to do at anytime. But once you actually use/enable a cheat it disables saving and achievements until you load a game with no activated cheats.
Thanks! This still works and I was in chapter 4, the horseman blackwater guide works too. After many tries was able to get the legends outfit with Arthur as well. He’s now relaxing in the St Denis hotel.
I liked it. You trolled the "invisible sniper" good. This is the most bullshit game mechanic i've ever seen in a videogame. Arthur deserves to be able to explore more of the map. Locking him out of 2 whole states (i consider the Blackwater area a separate one from WE) was a big mistake! I prefer the mod to turn the "sniper" off but your method is okay too. Screw you, Rockstar!
You sir, are a legend! Just followed your route and completed this challenge as Arthur and eventually got the LOTE outfit! It was a bit of pain driving the buggy from Saint Denis all the way to New Austin, trial and error and getting used to driving it but finally! Hats off to you
@@rowan2064 I think it's a bit luck based but try to avoid exposing the sides, let the law shoot the back so the wheels are less likely to get shot, avoid bumps on the way and once you get to Beecher's Hope you pretty much have to book it and avoid stones and logs
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I always get killed right after the del lobo hideout when you get on the tracks. First I thought I wasn't going fast enough, was worried about keeping the camera angle right. There's always a group of lawmen at the tracks too. Even drinking special health or miracle tonics doesn't save me from dying. Getting tired of having to start all the way back in Saint Denis.
I’m with you on this managed to get one herb but tried 4/5 times always get picked off just after the del lobos camp. Finding it so hard to try again takes me 20 mins to go get the buggy and restart

You used to be able to explore Blackwater and New Austin, there was even dialogue from NPCs and Sheriff’s for him, but they cut it out for some reason
I heard that they did it because being in hot climates like new Austin would greatly help against tuberculosis so Arthur hanging around their would not make him dying of TB make sense, but I don’t know if that is valid

I think they wanted some content exclusive to the epilogue. It's mentioned a few times how if you go near black water, you'll be killed. Like before the rescue mission with Sean, how Micah wants to go back and Arthur says how foolish it is and I think there's dialogue with Javier. There's probably many more examples too. It would hurt the immersion if they say in cut scenes it's a death sentence to go there but you can in free roam.
But it would be nice if after your first play through, you could go there. Like a new game plus, added difficulty and other stuff. They people doing this have already beat the game, probably multiple times so neither of my reasons, content and immersion matter. Maybe there's other reasons
If you don't patch the game, you just replay the mission "Angelo Bronte, Man of Honor" and get spotted by police in the cemetery, then escape and finish the mission. After that, just go into the southern part of the map and no lawmen or invisible snipers bother you unless you start a massacre or otherwise draw attention. I completed every challenge as Arthur using that method. Only things I couldn't do were trigger final fishing mission and taxidermy mission, which you have to be John to do. Everything else can be done as Arthur using that glitch.
I did that as well. No regrets! I loved the challenge and also for Arthur to have it all, including the legend of the west outfit and the drawings!

The most annoying thing about this was the amount of times I had to find a buggy and drive it all the way across the map. But once I got the hang of things and stopped over thinking, this actually turned out to be pretty easy. Thank you bro you’re a legend 👍
Pro tip: rather pick the Wild Feverfew in New Austin. The sniper just isn't as deadly in that area

I remember my friend encountered a glitch were even after leaving new Austin the sniper kept shooting, even after reloading the auto save and closing app and re opening it wouldn’t stop. He’d even get shot in camp. Worst part was he had done this in Chapter5 and his only hardsave was all the way back in the beginning of chapter 2. Which would basically mean restarting the whole game. Mind you he had collected all satchels, crafted all the clothing that was available from the trapper, all other challenges, most collectables, was doing mission gold medals as he went along. It was heartbreaking. He uninstalled and reinstalled and it wouldn’t end, so he dropped the game entirely. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t played since than, 2yrs I believe
The RDR2 glitch incident 😭
Did this once to complete all challenges as Arthur, I had the most luck in the buggy. This takes A LOT of patience and trial and error. Especially if you are trying to hunt the three legendary animals in New Austin. One thing I read that made my time easier was wearing the Marion helmet, the one with the big red feather sticking up. You can see it pass through the roof of the buggy and it tells you easily where Arthur is so you can line up getting out of the buggy easier.
Something HUGE I found extremely useful for those who have trouble finding the correct angle to avoid being sniped til you reach the herb. Set a marker to your herb, and just aim a gun while your moving, aim straight down and the sniper will just hit the roof of the buggy and the horse auto runs max speed the path set by the marker. You can just hold the left trigger and just wait till you arrive at the herb. The horse ai auto corrects out of the way of civilians. Wont follow train tracks and traveling the paths mean more likely to come across a lawman who will pursue you immiedently, the buggy can outrun them but stack up on health items

When engaging in gunfights on horse, the horse continues moving at the current speed you are running and doesn't slow down when you aim. The horse auto runs straight if you are offroad but will follow paths and auto turn so you don't crash into something when shooting.

There's a way to get to NA and not have the sniper active. I did it while exploring accidentally once. I was in Flat Iron Lake messing with the boats. If you get close to the ones in the area that forces Arthur to drown, they sink, FAST. One didn't sink and I got onboard. Then it turned and headed to the deathwater. It popped up in the air while I was jumping to get over part of the ship and it sent me forward slowly and WAY up into the air. I landed in the water not far from the opposite shore. I explored that area and it dropped me into Guarma. No sniper. I explored again and got lost WAY off the far end of Guarma. It dropped me into Mexico, but it was flooded. I took breaks and eventually made it to NA. The water disappeared, I had no sniper, and I could explore freely. Once you die there, the sniper is back.

If you botch the wagon camera angle when you try to pick the herb, immediately pause the game and keep on pausing every split second which resets the sniper's timer to shoot. what is it like a sniper shot every 2 seconds? Well it goes back to 0 seconds every time you spam pause.

I needed a few tries because the sniper got me while picking the herb
The other way to collect all the plants and treasures without being killed is in the mission of Angelo Bronte, it is a bug that allows you to go to New Austin without being chased by the pinkerton or killed by the sniper.
Yes, unfortunately it was patched so you would need a physical copy of the game and go offline to do this now. Though that would probably be easier than this method...

There is only one condition for the method to work and that is to do it for the first time and not die because if you die the bug no longer works and you lose everything you have collected even if you load the checkpoint you can not do the bug again.

Its so silly that Arthur does most of the work, but its John that gets to use the "Legend of the East" stuff.
the trick to this is to never see (on screen) Arthur's head. Step out of the vehicle, while blocking arthur's head with the roof. DO NOT touch camera to adjust. ONLY hold button to pick plant. after picking plant and saving... hold button to get back in vehicle and get ready to keep camera on the roof and blocking arthur's head as arthur gets in( keep the camera blocking his head with the roof on ur screen at all times and u should be fine). u got this with practice. the roof is key. get arthur his challenge drip

Thank you so much! I was able to get all four herbs with your help. The first time I got 3, but messed up the camera angle on the black currant and Arthur took one to the dome. But the second time I got it. It was a rare pleasure just to sit there and watch the sniper fire away knowing I had completed this. I savored that moment.

RDR2 got rushed to release, so a lot of parts of the game actually ended up different than intended. Bear with me for a second here. Theres this glitch you can do, where you can roam around new austin as arthur without needing to worry about the sniper at all. when doing it early on and healthy, the locals in armadillo just get pissy and tell you to screw off etc, and arthur will comment on the plague. But when arthur is dying of tb, if you show up, theres unique voice lines from the npc's just for Arthur himself. "Jeez, you look worse than us."
Arthur also has unqiue dialogue on the ranch in new austin, stating "this is some beautiful property" as he walks around. Arthur is also able to order chili and roast beef in tumbleweed, tho there is missing voice dialogue.
Arthur also has unique interactions and voice lines with the del lobos gang.
Meaning that there was originally meant to be a chapter with arthur in new austin, but they ran out of time while working on it and had to change plans.
All of this points to the conclusion that read dead redemption 2 was Rockstar souths love baby, a game they intended to be even longer and more in depth than it already was, and that fucking love child of theirs got crushed by the joining of north and south to work on the stupid gta ultimate trilogy flop as well as gta 6.
Dont get me wrong, it's one of the best games ever produced, but the reason its so buggy, so glitchy, crashes so much, and feels incomplete in ways, its because it literally is incomplete. the coding was rushed and forced. the story line started meticulous and then got rushed. the y did their best to give us a great game, and knocked it out of the park. but i suspect rdr2 is a far cry from what Rockstar south actually inteded. i suspect they meant it to be an open world experience that had choices that matter. a game that might have rivaled the elder scrolls in sheer open world content.
Sadly we will never fucking know, because rockstar corporate is a bunch of greedy, filthy, rat fucking bastards.
At least we know where the inspiration for micah's character comes from though BAHAHAHAHAHA
i pray every week, that R* get's the eff off of their high horse and listens to us... and finally releases DLC content for this masterpiece. Undead Nightmare 2, more side content, gun tricks, New Austin for Arthur (under special circumstances,) Mexico, Guarma being fleshed out and reachable after the missions, all online clothes for Arthur and John, with black leather and ponchos. More outfit space and the ability to store different versions of Arthur's hat, which was probably already intended. Build upon the excellent horror parts. Generally, just more stuff to buy and possibly some sandbox elements that seemed to be a good fit for such a detailed game. There's still a huge market for it. I'd pay at least the full price of a AAA game to see that content.

I just started a new game a few days ago, and I plan on doing as much as possible in Ch. 2. I’m definitely going for this strat…awesome idea!
I’m on attempt 6 now, getting tired of the ride from Saint Denis, but I’ve acquired the first two plants, and I’ve made it to the part of the map that contains the final two, so I have hope.
ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE:
make sure you have your 3rd person camera view at the furthest view, that way when you harvest the plant the camera angle doesn’t get you sniped.
also, while in the buggy keep a weapon drawn and you can auto ride (saving your thumb some pain), and you can have more time to focus on the camera angle, it helps a LOT.
this feels like one of those transit/buggy tour rides at the zoo but with arthur
I really dislike the invisible sniper nonsense. It would have been enough to send endless cops after you, the sniper is just them saying you'll play the way THEY want, or you won't play at all.
i wish if the sniper is an actual AI that is supposed to be a legendary bounty hunter or something and you can see him chase you on horse, and they should make it nearly impossible to kill him

Would have been awesome if later in the epilogue you meet them as one of Sadies friends. Would have done a lot for world immersion, but this game wasn't given enough time in the oven to iron out these features exactly as the developers would have wished. We can be grateful for what we got at least. I'm sure a skilled modder could rework this sniper to a legendary bounty hunter.

@@HeddvildNoSwitch to Photo Mode in the Pause Menu for consoles to extend your "3rd-Person Field of View." As for picking up the herbs, angle the camera upward to the buggy's back right corner. Then adjust it as Arthur exits the buggy & picks up the herbs.
Finally got the missing 4. Arthur will be having whiskey and a crab BBQ in the morning.

That's pretty bad ass. The Legendary Pronghorn would be awesome to get in Chapter 2. The Fence makes you a talisman that keeps animals you put on your horse from spoiling with the Legendary Pronghorn.
U have to practice to find the sweet spot to pick up the herb so the camera doesn't pop through the wagon. Find a Appleseed wagon the sweet spot is easier.
For those struggling to get past West Elizabeth without having the buggy wrecked by Pinkertons and their semi-auto firepower (I read they were more aggressive after chapter 2, not sure if it's really the case), I recommend you wait for them to spawn on the right just after entering Beecher's Hope, then kill them all in dead eye, using a weapon with a fairly large magazine and good range like the Lancaster repeater, except for one that you leave behind by killing his horse (otherwise you might have a new wave spawn pretty fast).
Then you can lose them going towards Thieves' Landing, avoiding a new posse that should spawn from Tall Trees, coming from a path on the right.
But make sure you lost them before crossing the bridge to Thieves' Landing, otherwise you might be facing a new bunch spawning right past it, and there you'd be pretty much doomed as you'd have to survive them plus the sniper.
Also, it's not specified in the video, but you have to switch to the furthest camera distance, in addition to tweaking the camera settings in the menu. Otherwise, when Arthur picks the herbs, the camera will zoom across the buggy and you'll get killed instantly.
Might be useful to switch the compass to "extended" as well, in order to better see the Pinkertons coming and get a broader view of the paths.
One last thing, but very important: Shoot the buggy's lights with a bow, or they might get shot by a firearm and explode, which will result in Arthur and the horse getting roasted and the buggy collapsing. Also, when you break them, watch out for the horse as it'll get spooked and try to run away. You'll have to get in quick and stop the buggy after breaking the first one, then break the second one and get in before the horse runs away.
Did it today, took me 7 attempts to figure out all that, but once I had the hang of it, it was almost a walk in the fine park of Hennigan's Stead.
Might wanna save in Saint-Denis so you can reload without having to go all the way back nor losing a few stacks of bills upon dying.
Hope this helps, wish I knew it before attempting this mad trip !

thanks man, i can confirm btw after chapter 2 more lawmen spawn at different places and they can sometimes shoot you through the wagon. the easiest way is the one, where you meet javier near blackwater. they always spawn at the exact spot shon in the video

If it interests anyone, there is a mod for the PC version of RDR 2 that removes the Invisible Snipers in both New Austin and Guarma, its on Nexusmods and is called: "Disable Out Of Bounds Snipers"
It may sound a bit cheaty to remove them, but I find the whole concept a bit ridiculous, for this random sniper bloke to be able to insta-kill you, besides, getting past the horde of Pinkertons that Spawn is a challenge enough.

first from this channel I’ve watched, voiceover sounds like the guy who did the Agency voice from Crackdown doing an impression of Arthur. Thoroughly enjoyable.
To anyone struggling with this: Make a separate save at Fort Riggs and use the spawn buggy cheat. Get some easy practice in and it saves you driving 10 minutes to get to new Austin every time. Once you feel confident, go back to the normal save and do it for real. Also don’t spam the sprint button because Arthur will sometimes sit up in the buggy and you can get killed very easily.

I'm almost a year late and I'm sure you looked it up by now lmao.
Pause and go to settings. Hit whatever button it says for enter a cheat code. Then type in, "Keep your dreams light" and it'll unlock the cheat.
Keep in mind though, unlocking the cheat is fine to do at anytime. But once you actually use/enable a cheat it disables saving and achievements until you load a game with no activated cheats.
Thanks! This still works and I was in chapter 4, the horseman blackwater guide works too. After many tries was able to get the legends outfit with Arthur as well. He’s now relaxing in the St Denis hotel.

I liked it. You trolled the "invisible sniper" good. This is the most bullshit game mechanic i've ever seen in a videogame. Arthur deserves to be able to explore more of the map. Locking him out of 2 whole states (i consider the Blackwater area a separate one from WE) was a big mistake! I prefer the mod to turn the "sniper" off but your method is okay too. Screw you, Rockstar!
You sir, are a legend! Just followed your route and completed this challenge as Arthur and eventually got the LOTE outfit! It was a bit of pain driving the buggy from Saint Denis all the way to New Austin, trial and error and getting used to driving it but finally! Hats off to you
Dude I'm having a go at this now and the law just shoots the buggy wheel off before I even get far, any tips?
@@rowan2064 I think it's a bit luck based but try to avoid exposing the sides, let the law shoot the back so the wheels are less likely to get shot, avoid bumps on the way and once you get to Beecher's Hope you pretty much have to book it and avoid stones and logs
Yeah, driving from saint denis to blackwater is a chore, luckily there is an autodrive in cinematic, a good 10 mins, just enough for smoke break.

Bro, a lawmen spotted me near armadillo, he somehow managed to shoot the lantern of the boggey and set it on fire 💀
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I always get killed right after the del lobo hideout when you get on the tracks. First I thought I wasn't going fast enough, was worried about keeping the camera angle right.
There's always a group of lawmen at the tracks too.
Even drinking special health or miracle tonics doesn't save me from dying.
Getting tired of having to start all the way back in Saint Denis.
Lose wanted status right before bridge, where the sniper appears. And there are no lawmen you'll see.
I’m with you on this managed to get one herb but tried 4/5 times always get picked off just after the del lobos camp. Finding it so hard to try again takes me 20 mins to go get the buggy and restart
