Then there are those who don’t have anybody nearby. Maybe they’re living alone on a remote island or in a home that can only be reached by boat, these places are totally out there! So join us for today’s video, where we count down the top 15 most isolated buildings and structures on earth.

    I find the Svalbard seed vault to be super interesting. 223 countries have seeds in there with India having the most. Even North Korea deposited seeds.

    I can't even wrap my head around these places. #12 is nauseating, #13 how did they build it?? So many of these places had me asking that same question over and over. Fantastic post, really enjoyable but I have to say I will never see these places. They are not for the weak. Great post thanks for sharing :o)

    I'm surprised that he didn't list the Antarctic Pole of Inaccessibility research station. As if the location wasn't remote enough, it's also been buried in the ice.

    I visited Iceland earlier this year and took a ferry to westman islands. So the first think about that island is that in that archipelago there are a total of 4 islands which look extremely similar to the one you showed(with one house on them). 2: the house was visited by a youtuber ryan trahan and it is possible to sleep there for a few days. 3: almost all of the islands with houses are owned by farmers who bring sheep there every summer and they most likely built these houses

    I wonder how many monks were monks because they were not interested in marrying, having kids, having sex at all or having it with women. I'm not saying monks were usually gay at all, just that if I were a gay man, who was faced with being forced by family to marry in those old days, I would definitely rather be a monk, and be left alone to deal with my inclinations by myself instead of being burnt at the stake for being what was considered then of being "unnatural"! At least a lot safer! I read that for hundreds of years convents were set up outside the walls of Paris to deal with unwanted extra daughters who couldn't be kept at home, were for some reason unmarketable for a decent husband, etc., until each convent developed reputations for being different environments that had little to do with the religion. Some were populated by titled and/or wealthy women, and kept up with royal gossip and visited family/royalty often, some were practically prisons, for punishing errant girls, and fantastic convents developed for those interested in music, writing religious poetry, that attracted the artistically inclined. I think I would have gone that route if I lived then, so much more interesting than marrying some stranger and being pregnant for 20 years, on average...

    • @christineparis5607
      @christineparis5607 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would anyone want to resurrect Alistair Crowley?? He was a total nut who was pathetically addicted to drugs that ended up causing him to become completely psychotic and a mass of sexual diseases..what could anyone do with that?! Crowley's made up religion was a failure over and over, no matter how much he moved it around. He was always trying to get money and fame and have sex all the time, and like Scientology's father, found that starting your own weird religion will attract people with money, and they will also give you most of it, even when your beliefs make zero sense. There will ALWAYS be people who believe and will go for it...
