Yes sir, lots of trout, bass, and salmon, I enjoy fishing them all ! Now the grandkids are getting into it and we are having a blast. I wish to thank you again for sharing your wisdom you're very kind sir.
This lake was at 9,200 feet. The water was so clear! The trout were planters, but they were fun to catch on the fly and bubble. I need to get up to Deer Creek and fish with a fly and bubble more often.
Cool video Matthew! You inspired me to try fly and bubble with my 33 micro this weekend. We are going to hike into a backcountry lake here in Idaho and I can’t wait to give it a try!
Have a great time. Take a couple Royal Coachmen fly patterns. If the fish are surface feeding on bugs you will catch them. Mornings and evenings work best.
@OutFishing13Matthew Wonderful video Matthew. Could you explain exactly how the fly & bubble is rigged? Do you use a leader or tie the line directly to the fly? ( Close-up shots of how your line is rigged would be great & much appreciated. Thanks!)
do you think a medium spinning rod (shakespeare beta 20-80g) would be good for brown trout? i would fish a small mepps behind a bubble float with a long 5lb leader
Try it sometime when you go fishing for trout. I have even caught bass fishing like this with a big floating bug fly, like a grasshopper or beetle pattern.
Used them as a kid in the ocean….with a live shrimp…you pop the bubble and it attracts speckle trout. Used them on rivers in Colorado also….using flies…no popping tho.
Excellent day sir ! Didn't get out today so I was "reel" happy to spend this time with you... Thank you for sharing, greetings from Maine !
That's punny. You are welcome. Thanks for watching. Do you have lots of trout in Maine? Atlantic Salmon runs?

That makes me think of my days in scouts long ago.

Hi Matthew,
Boy, a boy looks to me like you got this one all wrapped up. Ed
It was fun for sure.

Sure.
Never used a bubble before.
