That vinyl wrap on your Bimmer looks good. Especially the color shifting 👍.
Appreciate that!
I like the idea of this portable wash cart, I have limited room but this looks like a decent option.
I'm not at the ceramic coating level yet, but I do think it's cool to see it installed as I watched that video.
I did wash my sisters cars over the weekend and they maintain their cars less than I do mine. I saw your decon and polish video. I may go that route as being in this area it needs it for sure.
Nice video as always. Not gonna lie, was looking forward to the bloopers but always nice to give input about a giveaway. We appreciate you Keav.
Don’t you worry I got some good bloopers in the next one. Appreciate the support and ceramic coatings are not a must have, but I do think a good 6 month sealant is always a good idea.
I love the idea of the mobile washing station. I'd get the Costco (or other) hand truck, Affix the reel and pw to the base (marine plywood/Milwaukee top, ect) so all your water is on the bottom. Then the larger Milwaukee cabinet that opens from the front, atop that the 2 or 3 drawer box, then on the top a place for all the spray bottles and foam cannon (maybe thick drawer foam with circle cutouts that won't melt in the sun).
The Milwaukee hand truck with bottom drawer is great but to have access to that crate you have to take everything off the top.
Thanks for all you do!

These are great ideas. I’m going to try an all in one tool box style, but it’s probably not going to work. Going to try anyways. Problem with mounting reel on top is you have no access to the pressure washer hidden inside to turn on and off. If it was mine I would wire the on/off switch to the toolbox, but too much of a liability for a giveaway.
Great tutorial. DIY makes great products, some of my favorite. I appreciate how you name all the products very clearly?
The Milwaukee cart would be pretty nice
It will be fun to build. Spending the money not so much. 🤣
1st I need to build my wash station just like yours
@@ThisOldDetailingDude hit me up on Instagram if you have any questions. I will be redoing my whole setup early next year. Moving it to a more open space. It’s too crowded the way it is.
Thank you
I just saw you for the first time on Live Detailing Q & A and came directly to your site. Love ya!
Thank You! That was an amazing time with great people. I learned so much that weekend.
Gotta say that I've always loved the fact that you usually offer inexpensive options for those who can't afford a more "premium" product. Currently trying to build a cart myself and I've never seen or even thought about building a cart using the Milwaukee packout boxes so that might be pretty cool man! Keep up the great videos!
Going to be fun to figure it all out. They are so
expensive though don’t want to make any mistakes modifying. There are some great values out there and some things you don’t need a name brand to get good quality.
I built a cart and love it. I bought all the parts and connectors I wanted and assembled it myself. I took a lot of tips from Keav and love it.
I like the idea of a portable w/wheels detailer box. Right now I have all my stuff in one of those huge towel/bedsheet zipper rectangle bags. It's heeavvyy but I have everything and towels in that sucker.
I had many people say they liked the cart idea, but didn’t have the room or an apartment. This would work for them. I store our camping sleeping bags in those big ziploc bags
Packout boxes can be expensive and when discounted it's in bundles, maybe something like Ridgid could be a better choice. I have also been thinking about a portable solution but using a hand truck instead; there are $80 ones from Costco and Milwaukee, although there is a more expensive Milwaukee Packout utility cart which would make it easier to add to it.
I’m looking at that option as well. Collapsible hand truck and a few heavy duty storage crates. Craftsman has some good ones as well.
I just found your channel and subscribed. It is funny because I've been trying to come up with the perfect cart myself. I have a US General and thinking about getting another one for my pressure washer. Also been thinking about the right pack out system. Lots of decisions. Great job.
Appreciate the kind words. I’m building a pack out style wash setup hope to have done in a few months.
What an absolutely beautiful wrap color 😮
Thank you!
Something I’ve not found a straight answer for…when using any sort of ceramic based product like Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid, does that trash your towel? Does it need to be tossed out like coating towels are?
As long as when you are done you soak it in some soap water and let the surfactants break down what is on the towel. DIY Detail Rinseless wash and incredible suds both are great for this. I just use the bucket I was using to wash the car. Then put in the washing machine. I know when using as a drying aid you hate to discard good drying towels.
Thanks for the video! That Milwaukee Pack out is pretty sweet!
Thanks
I just picked up a Milwaukee packout used on marketplace. I’ve seen people use them for detailing and they look cool. You’ll for sure blow the budget though. Still a cold idea.
Think I’m going Dewalt 2.0 Tough System. Slightly cheaper and the wheels don’t take up room. Lots more room.
@@CarsWithKeav yea I’m think the packouts are super nice but I also am looking at cheaper options
I like the Keav’s Milwaukee Detailing Cart👍. Bring back the bloopers too they’re iconic 👀👌
I’m still working on it. Not Milwaukee, but probably doing Dewalt Tough System. The inside is way bigger dimensions.
Thanks for the video. Great wish list i have now. Veto tools bags btw. Those are awesome
That list will be never ending trust me. 🤣
So pay a couple thousand to ceramic coat so you can become your own car detail guy or keep paying professional detail guy more money for up keep. We can’t seem to win this game. 😢😂
At least if you do it yourself you save on labor, but how much do you value your time? Is your time worth more than the labor you would be paying for a pro to do it.
It’s called maintenance. Nothing will ever stay perfect forever. Just depends on how much time and effort you want to dedicate to preserving your investment on a vehicle.
I actually made a gorilla cart setup but then I pieced it out and sold pretty much everything to restart my setup I’m tempted to go back to it since I have to go from my backyard shed to my front driveway with my setups anytime I wash. I’d like to see your take on that mine was pretty bare bones and messy definitely could have been better with everything I’ve learned since then.
I’m going to try and make an ultra clean very compact version. We’LLC see how it goes. Just started buying stuff for R&D.
@@CarsWithKeav sweet!
I just love the colour of that car.
Thanks 🙏
On the regular water hose what spayer do you have on. I've gotten so many on Amazon and I've gotten burn with leaks and broken while in use.
That sprayer but the dust, but here is what I am using now th-cam.com/video/8gOwU-Ofw84/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZrG_ubO5fZrBYMJQ very expensive though so this video is cheaper alternatives. th-cam.com/video/z4eauicyxJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ROPc9VlXy2MwCWOE
Question. Had my truck costed about 5 days ago. It’s covered in pollen. Can I spray the pollen off? No soap or mitt, just water to get the pollen off.
5 days absolutely you can if it’s not cured by then against just water then something is wrong.
Keav, I gotta know, what paint color is that? It is gorgeous! Is it OEM?
It is actually a wrap and is called Aquamarine by Orafol.
@@CarsWithKeav A Wrap, ok I am surprised. Real world question, how long will a wrap typically hold up and by that I mean how long will it look as good a paint does You have me interested with that color.
@@nicksdragon6929 If taken care of a good wrap install will last at least 4 to 5 years. Also a good wrap brand as well. Ceramic coating it is the first step to make it last as long as possible. I have multiple cars running wraps of 2 to 3 years right now and a previous wrap that was on for 3 years. I usually change up the color every 3 years or so.
I bought a truck a couple of weeks ago it was ceramic coated at the Ford dealership my first wash I thought I had the truck cleaned and dried now I have embedded dirt how can I get this off I washed it with Jay Leno ceramic shampoo
Do you know if that dirt was there when you bought it? They could have installed the ceramic coating over the dirt. Also a possibility the ceramic shampoo you use coated over the dirt that didn’t get off the surface. I have had that happen to me before using a spray and rinse sealant, didn’t wash the best I guess and I basically had protected dirt. Best thing to do is do not using any type of protectant when washing and over time the ceramic shampoo will wear off. APC cleaners can wear it down sooner. If it’s the ceramic from the dealer and it’s a true ceramic then it will require a polish to remove.
I did a seven-year, ceramic coating, I’ve already washed it after, but just casual cleaning after sitting in the garage, Car gets dusty, supposed to not use the dusters, what is the best way to clean the dust?
If it’s just dust the a quick detailer or waterless. That gives you some lubrication to prevent scratching. Dusters even though very soft they are abrasive because dry contact causes friction.
Hi Keav! If I were to use the same wash procedure you showed it the video, would it be alright for me to use Adam’s Car Shampoo in the foam cannon while I use Carpro reset in the bucket?
(I kinda want to maximize my stock of carpro reset as much as possible since it requires a good amount of product in the cannon to get good foam.)
Absolutely, this is just a guide and you can use any soap you wish or alternative equipment. It’s all about having fun doing it.
Thank you so much!
@@jrma2486 you’re welcome
I like your style:)
Yup, very relatable and his carts ideas are top notch
Great follow up! Heidi is looking good.
Thanks, glad somebody does. 🤣
Thx 🙏
Thank You
Gangster video bro!!!!!!
Thank You
Why not use a dry wash and do it inside the garage? No chance for water spots as I've done this for years.
Because it’s fun for me this way. Dry wash is just boring to me and feels like a chore. The foaming process is therapeutic to me.
Got it and understood.@@CarsWithKeav
@@Longhorn-s7z No problem, we all have our ways of doing things. No wrong way really as long as you are having fun and not scratching the car. 🤣
Quick question can I just take it through a touch less car wash.
You sure could. Those don’t clean very well they always miss a few spots and sometimes leave soap on some areas you have to take care of.
@@CarsWithKeavthe question is will that damage the ceramic coating
@@Gabe-ss1hi It will not damage a true ceramic coating. It could damage a ceramic sealant or spray wax depending on the chemicals used.
Excellent
Thx 🙏
Why not use rinsless wash by diy detail ?
I use it from time to time. I’m a big foam kind of guy and just prefer it and I leaf blow dry. I don’t like to use drying towels.
@@CarsWithKeav I’ve never used a blower do you think it’s better then towels in the sun because I detail outside
@@marionavarrete5533 It is if you are using spotless water as the final rinse. If you blow tap water it will evaporate and spread minerals all over masking the coating if there is one and leaving a haze. That’s the main reason I use spotless ware for final rinse.
Still have to wait 7 days even if i do a rinseless wash?
That would be correct.
@@CarsWithKeav thanks man
What wheels are those ?
BBS CIR
no spray n rinse product is a topper. lol might as well use ceramic gloss as a drying aide. better coverage and no wasted product onto the floor just spray on after rinse and dry witth microfiber drying towel. I've used all the spray n rinse stuff. it's just a gimmicky waste that doesn't make sense unless you're using a whole bottle every wash to get compete even coverage with no patches. try it on am unprotected car you'll see it's a waste of $ Griots ceramic speed shine as a drying aide 1 spray per panel and dry car. you use barely any and save time and water
I actually had great success with them first Easy Coat then Quick beads as my previous wash process was a leaf blower so I never would touch after the contact wash. They helped get better beading and dry the surface easier. I have now shifted to rinseless wash as my contact and then dry, but I use no other protection as I prefer the ceramic coating to do it’s job and know if it’s failing or having issues. Constantly topping you could be masking a failure and not even know it. Main reason I stopped and if I need a drying aid I’m using C6 mist now just for the lubrication.
why put a topper so soon?
I always do right after that 7 day period. Personal preference, but I like to start from day one and start stacking the layers.
@@CarsWithKeav sacrificial layers approach. how often do you put a topper?
@@salman13 Anytime I do a contact wash mainly as a drying aid and not used in large amounts. Makes leaf blowing the car so much faster.
IMO this is overkill
