    What snow foam are you using/would you recommend with a ceramic coated car? My car is ceramic coated and the foam I’m using just won’t stay attached.

    How often is a maintenance wash recommended and also what sort of wash should i be doing weekly on a ceramic coated car? Just snowfoam?

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually do maintenance valets monthly for my clients, but I personally wash my car & van weekly.
      No, you would still need to go through the full wash process otherwise you could risk marring the paint if you only foam then dry 👍🏼

    Another question : last time you kindly answered my question about alkaline shampoo (BH auto shampoo, pH 9); you said that pH doesn't mean eveything. So I've got 2 other questions :
    1) what about the PRE wash shampoo used in your video (BH auto-foam), which is pH ...13 ? I know that pH is not the only factor, but is a pH 13 safe for ceramic coatings (regular wash) ?
    2) How do you compare the shampoo BH auto-wash to Carpro Reset ?
    Thank you in advance.

    You could use the drying towel to suck up the water by not rubbing it over the paint, place the towel on the surface, pat it all over and lift it straight off without rubbing or dragging it over the paint. Shake it to remove excess water and any dirty that may still have been on the surface and move onto the next section and repeat..

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed, this towel isn’t great for PAT drying compare to others. That’s why are typically dry the glass 1st to lubricate the towel before touching the paint work. As long as you don’t apply any pressure in this town is very safe to use and I haven’t had any problems so far. In an ideal world you would just use compressed air see you don’t touch the paint work at all but that would take forever.

    Since Built-hamber auto wash has a pH of 9, why do you use this shampoo on a ceramic coated paint ? I thought we could only use pH neutral shampoo on ceramic, like Reset from carPro.

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a common misconception with comic coatings.
      The ph doesn’t necessarily determine the harshness of a product. An apple is oh 3.5 for example.
      The best product I have used to unclog a coating is called Labocosmetica purifica which is ph3. In order to remove water spots and limescale which is what clogs the coating, you need to use an acid-based product.

      Providing that they don’t get to beaten up during the wash you should be able to just machine wash them every time.

      Protection from the sun, which could possibly discolour the tyres quicker and lead to cracking. Like you say, it’s more likely you will change the tyres due to mileage, but every little helps to prevent any damage 👍🏼

    Thanks for this awesome video. A quick question if you don't mind. If i wash my ceramic coated car lets say once a week or once in every two weeks, is it ok and safe to use a wax type product such as turtle wax dry and shine or similar when the car is wet and rinse it off after? Or better make it dry properly and use a quick detailer such as carpro elite (lighter version of reload) , Nova Boost, Xtreme Solutions Topper, Auto Fanatics gloss enchancer, Polish Angel Presto etc

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Emrah, yes that should be fine. The spray and rinse products are becoming a lot more popular and work very well if applied properly

    • @emrahpoland
      @emrahpoland 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HarpersCarDetailing so, as a general wash once a week or once every two weeks, it will be much easier this way to spray and rinse the car off. Also this will consume less time undoubtedly. You know, unfortunately I don't have my own garage yet and it is not allowed and very legal to wash the car somewhere outside. So we go to car wash places with token and we do washing on our own, similar the way on your video, and in such places there are not always time to go slow. So this way will help :) 👍

  • @maergtrc1600
    @maergtrc1600 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I saw that when you open the front car doors and you started splash by water pressure gun the edge of the doors .. I think it will be much better safe to cover the speakers doors to prevent any water goes inside them .. just my observation however you doing great job

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, for peace of mind it would be good to cover but it would be quite difficult to do so.
      If you wouldn’t be comfortable using a pressure washer here, just use the end of a hose, that should do the trick.
      I’m glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏼 thanks

  • @radical08

    Question man, hopefully, you can help me? Is it ok to wipe your car with microfiber to wipe off the dust on my car? I'm doing it every day.

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, sure no problem.
      I personally wouldn’t as the small dust particles are quite sharp so could very easily marr the paint finish.
      If you 100% want to without going through the trouble of washing the car every time, which would be very unrealistic, then I would suggest a waterless wash product such as optimum no rinse. Spray that on first then with a damp drying towel carefully dry the car.

  • @chrishayes653
    @chrishayes653 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    question. You use reload every 3 months or so. So When you was your car say every week or whatever. do you put down any other product at all? ex. Bead maker or a quick detail spray or anything like that until that 3 months where you re apply reload?
    Thanks!

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I’m being totally honest I don’t really like reload. I use it with Carpro as it’s designed for this specific coating.
      If the car is washed regularly then there hopefully won’t be a build up of any limescale or mineral deposits so you shouldn’t need to use it much.
      You can use it every time if you are wanting to prolong the coating or just enjoy using it 👍🏼
      I like beadmaker, but it doesn’t last long. My favourite is bouncers done and duster Si edition

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The only reason I rinse from the bottom up is so I can see exactly where I have been with my pressure washer, as it’s the pressure of the water that removes the underlying dirt.
      If you started from the top then you would dilute the foam below and it would run off the panel, so you don’t necessarily know when you have been, therefore you could very easily miss a spot. Whereas if you start from the bottom you can see exactly where you have been and can use the above foam as a guide as it remains in place.
      After that, you only need to very quickly rinse from the top to remove any leftover product or debris.
      It may take longer, but I would rather that than miss a spot and potentially inflict marring at the wash stage.
