hey rick, a flipping tip here, for popular games like mario sunshine, (not just nintendo but playstation and xbox) you can flip games for a little bit more if they are NOT players choice, a lot of people will pay extra for a normal case because it fits in better, it may not be much (2-5$) but still, if there are two copies of a popular game and ones not players choice you should sell it for a small bit more

Hey Rick, I spent the afternoon/evening at the hospital because my son had a bad break in his arm that required surgery. After a long stressful day it was nice to come home and underwind by watching your channel. Thanks for putting the time and effort into entertaining us, it's greatly appreciated!
I keep an eye out for sealed printer ink. Sometimes they’re nothing, but other times they’re $25ish. DVD series have surprised the heck of me too. I sold a sealed Threes Company complete series for $300. Murder She Wrote and Cheers too for about $100 each. And the best thing about DVDs is that they’re eligible for Media Mail so don’t worry too much about the weight. Just estimate $5-$6 for large sets and you’ll be fine. Speaking of that, that Blackadder DVD set next to the Futurama seasons in the first store is around $20-$25, if it’s the complete set that I think it is.
I have been game collecting for 3-4 years now and am very happy with what ive collected so far, but with bills and life it makes it a bit harder to always grow on the collection. So this is just a HUGE Thank You for all that you do with teaching. A lot of people will say they "know" how to do this already, but you give great information. I will always watch, like, and recommend your videos to everyone!. Thanks!
DVD/VCR combo. Find them practically every time I go to a goodwill and depending on the brand can go from $50-100. Also awesome to use and super nostalgic. Have a ton of Mario paint creations and hilarious sports game plays and glitches on vhs in my room
Thanks for the tips dude. Today I picked up and NES and I asked her if she had anymore games. She then came out with Ninja Gaiden 3 and Streets of Rage 3!! 65 for all
There are many reasons why I love your content, but at the top of the list is your honest appreciation of classic video games. You don’t buy to flip a profit without known or caring about what you buy. You buy first to collect and I respect that. As for the question: wave bird controllers! I have yet to sell one for under 60 bucks. I had no idea! I just thought they were third party nonsense. And yes, FFXII was great.
Something I've learned recently and I've been finding them a lot at my thrift stores are vintage gillette safety razors I never pay more than a dollar for them and I've sold them for between $15-$50
I like to look for vintage clothing; specifically, concert shirts, vintage gaming shirts.. Recently picked up a grip of Animal Crossing shirts at my local thrift with Nintendo of NY tags on it still. Sold all of them within a week. (DJ KK Slider)
I used to flip both maternity & baby clothes locally. It’s something lots of people need but only for a short time...so people don’t always want to spend full retail price.
I like to flip dvds and calculators but I have also had good luck with flipping brand new packs of blank cassette tapes. I don’t find them often but I’ve made pretty good money each time. Also don’t overlook the “kiddy” games you might be surprised.
I love shopping Walmart's clearance stuff. Not from the clearance aisle, because everyone looks there, but in the sections of the store themselves. Right now is a great time of the year to buy up all of the 2019 Black Friday video games after being marked down all summer. Also, now is a great time to buy and resell any fishing equipment while they prepare for winter and clear inventory out.
Rick, watching your videos has reminded me so much of everything from the 80s and 90s I’ve decided to start searching for what I had as a child and build a nostalgia room. Happy Hunting!
I actually took your advice about a month ago and found a TI-84 calculator at a yard sale for only $2.00. Picked it up, cleaned it and sold it for $35.00 on ebay! Thanks for the great videos :)
I always try and pick up individual golf irons and wedges. My Goodwill sells them for $5 a piece and depending on the model I’ll resell them individually for $20-$50. I picked up an oddball set today for $10, and I’ll end up getting about $175 for them.
From watching 'Chase After the Right Price' i learned that certain pocket knives can be very valuable so thats def an item that people overlook to resell
Great pickups! I picked up some old camera film for a point and develop camera that sold for a lot of money on ebay. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Old film cameras is what I was look for to flip. You have to check to see if it has value but good brands like Canon usually do. I find them almost every weekend at garage sales for less than 5 bucks. I actually just found a Leica camera at a thrift store for $8 and it’s worth so much more than that.
I normally flip some dvds, and also when I can find comics that are worth something, typical a special event or a first appearance of someone. Thanks as always for the Monday video always starts the week off good.
I've always found that old plates and decorative bowls sell so well and if the right make can sell almost instantly, but if we're talking tech, I'd say look out for TV's, they dont often pop up but when they do they're quick flips!
I swear I never see a single video game ever at goodwill. I go all the time. I think they ship them to another facility to sell or something. Thanks for the video. I love to at least watch the hunt!
That’s the same for me in Kansas. All of the Goodwills remotely close to me don’t sell video games or consoles. They sell them on their online Goodwill store. That’s what they’ve told me when I’ve asked why they don’t carry games. It’s a massive bummer.
3:40 Pc game Exit the Game: The Sunken Treasure Escape Room by Kosmos brand new is worth $15-20 free shipping. I sold one of those before it might take awhile depending on price.
For the question of the video: I mainly do DVD's, but slowly am learning golf clubs and stuff. Growing quickly Rick, keep up the momentum! Great video as usual!
In art school I would buy frames from goodwill to use for art work for friends and student shows. Didn’t really resell the frames but it saved me a ton of money.
I flip golf bags pretty often. I’m in Charlotte, NC so golf is pretty popular and I find a lot of nice golf bags I sell locally for $40-60 and I get them for $3-7 at goodwill.
I honestly don't flip a lot of stuff, usually just the extra's from bundles I buy, never thought of checking out VHS or older movies but since watching you I started looking for some extra things I don't usually pay attention too and recently found a copy of NCAA College Hoops 2K8 for the ps3 and decided to pick it up to see what I can get for it. In the past though, I wouldn't have even looked twice at an old sports game lol, I can't believe some of them are so valuable. Thanks for your advice, the extra money I make will go back into getting more games for my collection!
@@retrorick Oh for sure there, and any time I can add something I want or even come across something I never knew existed into my collection for a cheap price is a win for me
@@retrorick No problem! Look out especially for LEGO Manuals that have multiple books. I recently sold 2 lego books that were part of the same manual for $75. They sold the same day they were listed!
I once picked up from a yard sale about 50 matchbox cars from the 1960s for $12 and ended up selling them for over $300. So I'm always on the look out for matchbox and Hot Wheels cars.
Some items that are able to be resold are collectibles like stuffed animals. Like beanies, pokemon related items such as your gengar backpack you had awhile back!
I always keep an eye out for newer board games, surprised how many times I've found a game worth 50 bucks for less than 5 and amazed how many times I've found a $100+ game for less than 10.
I’m actually learning by watching your channel so I’ll definitely be looking through the comments to learn even more lol. So thank you for teaching me through these videos. I still haven’t started selling though because I still have to figure out the shipping portion of it.

Holy shit 'Extreme Days'. A friend of mine showed me that movie right after it came out on dvd and we spent the rest of the night trying to light our farts on fire. I think we were like 13 or so at the time.
That's wild, my thrifts look NOTHING like that EVER. I check multiple times a week and NADA. Have found one game worth over $10 ONCE. I get those calculators at garage sales but never thrifts.
I have started selling dvds since watching the channel and I haven't found any of the rare ones but have had success with grabbing all the new and sealed ones and then scanning them on eBay to see which ones are worth picking up to resell.
Funny enough, some old musty clothes sell decently, I can sometimes pick them up at Goodwill for three or four bucks and sell them to Plato‘s closet or another clothing store for like 10-20 each
What i pick up that not too many ppl do are Microcassette Recorders. Especially SONY and Radio Shack branded ones sell really good. I found a beautiful gold radio shack recorder with original radio shack batteries no corrosion and they still worked. Rick! You're either first or you're last
In the past I’ve picked up model trains and accessories from a thrift and made a quick flip. Also, I’ve picked up Pop figures in the box at garage sales on the cheap. Last one I picked up was a My Little Pony which happened to be a Hot Topic exclusive. Paid $5 and sold for $150. You never know!
Just want to say thank you for your tip on the BeachBody DVDs. I found some at a yard sale this weekend and they've already sold on eBay for a nice profit!
I find just odd-ball items to flip. I recently picked up a MiniStim Nerve Stimulator. I had never seen one before. Had no idea what it was, but it looked like some kind of nerve/muscle shocker. The sticker said $1.49. I sold it two days later for $250!!!! Lots of Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars are worth money too!
To resell someone bellow mentioned Sealed INK cartridges those sell very well but also Die Cast model cars, specially if you can find the older vintage muscle car and older import car models.
You’d be surprised at what some sealed vintage jigsaw puzzles can sell for on eBay. Heye brand vintage puzzles have a prettt strong following. I found a sealed one for $5.99. Flipped it for $100.
Something I always pick up is p90x and some other beach body workout dvds. I pretty much pick up anything that I can double up on. I've tried movies but I got a few people act like its a rental service.
I do a lot of the same as you, DVD's, VHS, a couple Ti-84 plus's ironically but the odd one that I notice not to many people doing is remote controls. You can get them for next to nothing, only have to worry about the very easily checked for before you buy issue of corrosion in the battery compartment and can check if all the buttons work by using the camera on your phone. oh and they are EVERYWHERE lol. Pro Tip: Universal remotes are better, but all remotes have a high enough profit margin thanks to such a low buy in cost, BUT they are a bit long tail most times.
a while ago i got an OG xbox s controller for like 3-5$ so ive picked up everything exept a system, i got cables and the first two halos for $2 each for a total of $11 for everything!
Some decent finds! I hit the GameCube mother load today. Got 15 GameCube games and they are all really good games! Zelda, all 4 Mario party’s, etc. all for 3 each!!
With the recent release of Microsoft’s flight simulator, any and all Flight Sticks (even some older ones) went up in value. I found one last week for $8 and sold it for $90
One thing I’ve started looking for is anything blaze and the monster machines. They usually get lumped in with the cheap cars at thrift and yard sales but they have a little value.
@@retrorick best I have had is a free 2nd generation performer. Swapped out the lid with another parts grills lid, spent 20 on a cooking grate, probably an hour deep clean sold it for 200.
What I usually do is buy games in lots and then sell the valuable ones or enough ones to break even/ make money. I did that yesterday when I bought 3 Nintendo switch Pokémon games and got borderlands for free
Recently been finding lots of toys and some are very profitable especially if vintage and anything that’s still brand new. GI Joe, He Man, Transformers, Voltron, etc.
I am loving this series. So one thing I have been selling is LP’s and I have done a few laser disc movies. I couldn’t believe I found those at the goodwill. Another thing I did good with one time is I found a Sony Minidisc player. Those go pretty for good on eBay.
Unfortunately I haven't found a groove for flipping items. Usually I research when I get home and then kick myself because someone else picked it up after I left. Missed on some old board games the other week.
Sealed blank VHS and cassette tapes can sell for surprisingly alot. I also look for namebrand clothes with the tag still on them as well. Great content as always, im going thrifting today and have my fingers crossed lol.
I'm always looking for dvds mostly but, you already know they can be valuable lol. Horror vhs tapes can actually be quite valuable too😌 just started collecting those, so I'm fueling a new addiction lol
Medal of Honor Frontline with Jak and Daxter the first games for my PS2 good memories there. Also I spied a Jaws VHS first movie my family ever bought for me was Jaws because I loved sharks. I still have the VHS, but the case got destroyed along time ago. I would have picked up the VHS just for the case.
I don't actually flip that much, but sometimes I buy books. Anything that's pre-WWII normally has some value to it, but it's hard to get estimated prices for them.
Vintage Audio Equipment and PC parts are my brother's thing, and I go for Video Games and electronics and Nerf guns. Some of the newer or rarer nerf guns actually have decent value online. My grail would be a vintage Kenner Nerf Crossbow though.
Definitely vinyls keep out for vinyls and 45’s they can be worth a lot at my local goodwill I picked up two John Lennon 45’s that we’re worth 35 dollars together and I got them together for 2 dollars
This is random but was the first item that got me started reselling on the side, waterproof watch cases haha. Only found it once but made a good flip, $7 into $75. Also older godzilla toys.
One thing I really score on are Nike Gold shirts. If you get them on tag color day they go for maybe 250 and you sell em for 15-20. I am trying to be better with movies.
I am reading thru the comments and I know a lot more to sell thank you all. And it was again a great video my favorite game from my childhood was in here donkey Kong barrel blast was my old time favorite. I need to pick it up again. But have a nice day ❤🇳🇱
Knowing which clothes to find (men, women, kids) can lead to some good flips, but that takes time. I’m dabbling in it but honestly it probably isn’t for me. Great video this week!!!
I've had luck flipping sports jerseys. The main thing is ensuring names and numbers are stitched on. Jerseys are a lot like video games. People get rid of them and later have nostalgia for players.
Question of the day - Navy cruise books. They all sell for well over $150 each. I just found one today that I paid $1.50 for and just posted on Ebay for $250.
Certain older cameras can be really good flips. Age, brand, condition matter a lot of course, but you won't believe what some are worth. People sell them dirt cheap at yard sales too. Also video cameras and certainly film and blank video tapes.
Hey Rick, I just found your channel like 4-5 days ago and have allready watched every video in the 10$ challange, great work man, your stuff is just what i look for in a retro game video, i guess im a little jealous of you scoring such good stuff, i live in sweden and its a lot harder to game hunt and find good stuff cheap here it seems, you can do it, but its harder, anyway keep up the good work
People miss DVDs, VHS/DVD Combo units, blank media, and old pyrex and other old kitchen bowls and stuff. Someone I know just found a pyrex dish that he never saw before and picked it up because it was only 2 bucks and it was worth like $115.
Ed, Edd, and Eddy? Nice! Loved that series! Some really nice finds here! As for oddball finds for us, I mean it's nothing to do with value, but we're always on the watch for functionality--whether in display or storage pieces. It can be easy to get swept up in only going after what one is collecting or looking to flip, but there really are some other nice finds to put to work in the game room. Oh man, that bin that hasn't been put away yet!!! That was fortuitous timing you lucky punk! :-)
You didn't miss out on much with the XBox Controller S. I bought one for $6.49, tried to flip for $17 weeks ago, hasn't sold. While they sell for decent money, they rarely sell.
Thank you all for watching another episode of the $10 Dollar Game Collection Challenge! Hope you all have a great week and keep hunting!

Funny enough, some old musty clothes sell decently, I can sometimes pick them up at Goodwill for three or four bucks and sell them to Plato‘s closet or another clothing store for like 10-20 each
Lol I was at the gym lifting weights and had to drop them when that noise started and you added the '3 hours later' 😂
hahaha , that i just legit laughed out loud
What i pick up that not too many ppl do are Microcassette Recorders. Especially SONY and Radio Shack branded ones sell really good. I found a beautiful gold radio shack recorder with original radio shack batteries no corrosion and they still worked. Rick! You're either first or you're last
you are right...they sell so well!
I have heard model trains do well...i just dont know what to look for
Just want to say thank you for your tip on the BeachBody DVDs. I found some at a yard sale this weekend and they've already sold on eBay for a nice profit!
heck yeah Phil! I have made so much money reselling those dvd sets!
I find just odd-ball items to flip. I recently picked up a MiniStim Nerve Stimulator. I had never seen one before. Had no idea what it was, but it looked like some kind of nerve/muscle shocker. The sticker said $1.49. I sold it two days later for $250!!!! Lots of Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars are worth money too!
nice Bill! Basically anything you can make a buck on...i like it!
To resell someone bellow mentioned Sealed INK cartridges those sell very well but also Die Cast model cars, specially if you can find the older vintage muscle car and older import car models.
man that is so good to know...thanks Homer!
You’d be surprised at what some sealed vintage jigsaw puzzles can sell for on eBay.
Heye brand vintage puzzles have a prettt strong following.
I found a sealed one for $5.99.
Flipped it for $100.
oh wow...i need to be on the lookout for them!
You should ask her to hold Fire Emblem Path of Radiance if they're taking request. Haha
hahahaha i totally should
Something I always pick up is p90x and some other beach body workout dvds. I pretty much pick up anything that I can double up on. I've tried movies but I got a few people act like its a rental service.
yes man, those resell so well! Thanks for watching Nathan
Pro Tip: Universal remotes are better, but all remotes have a high enough profit margin thanks to such a low buy in cost, BUT they are a bit long tail most times.
great tips my friend! I love reselling remotes
a while ago i got an OG xbox s controller for like 3-5$ so ive picked up everything exept a system, i got cables and the first two halos for $2 each for a total of $11 for everything!
nice! I am actually surprised we havent came across an OG xbox in the $10 dollar game collection series
Some decent finds! I hit the GameCube mother load today. Got 15 GameCube games and they are all really good games! Zelda, all 4 Mario party’s, etc. all for 3 each!!
oh snap...what a find! Gamecube games are so hot right now to resell
With the recent release of Microsoft’s flight simulator, any and all Flight Sticks (even some older ones) went up in value. I found one last week for $8 and sold it for $90
oh wow...i had no idea! Thanks for the heads up!
One thing I’ve started looking for is anything blaze and the monster machines. They usually get lumped in with the cheap cars at thrift and yard sales but they have a little value.
oh nice...thank for the heads up!
Gaming hunting at goodwill is still alive in 2020. Nice pickups.
for sure...its not as easy as it once was but still very possible!
Extreme Days! Now I want to go listen to some Pax 217!
hahaha heck yes Jason!
Weber grills. Can get them from free to 50 depending on what one. And can be valued from 50-200.
oh man, i had no idea..thanks for the heads up Matt!
@@retrorick best I have had is a free 2nd generation performer. Swapped out the lid with another parts grills lid, spent 20 on a cooking grate, probably an hour deep clean sold it for 200.
@@ThatOneGuyMatt thats some quick cash!
What I usually do is buy games in lots and then sell the valuable ones or enough ones to break even/ make money. I did that yesterday when I bought 3 Nintendo switch Pokémon games and got borderlands for free
you are talking my language Jackson! Thanks for watching
Those go pretty for good on eBay.
i loveeee laser discs! I have a modestly small collection lol
VTG blankets are something I’m always looking for.
oh wow...i had no idea..thanks Joshua!
Unfortunately I haven't found a groove for flipping items. Usually I research when I get home and then kick myself because someone else picked it up after I left. Missed on some old board games the other week.
That Black Adder DVD collection at the first stop goes for a pretty good bit on ebay
oh dang, i missed it! Thanks for the heads up
You missed Marble saga for the Wii. Fun game & sells for about 15.
I totally should have picked it up...good eye!
It is a great game that you missed
Missed Hitchhikers Guide book too. 😢
Sealed blank VHS and cassette tapes can sell for surprisingly alot. I also look for namebrand clothes with the tag still on them as well. Great content as always, im going thrifting today and have my fingers crossed lol.
yes! Great money to be made on new old stock
I'm always looking for dvds mostly but, you already know they can be valuable lol. Horror vhs tapes can actually be quite valuable too😌 just started collecting those, so I'm fueling a new addiction lol
I don't have any odd things I pick I'm still learning I just started after watching your videos.
Anything that's pre-WWII normally has some value to it, but it's hard to get estimated prices for them.
very cool...thanks for the heads up on those!
Vintage Audio Equipment and PC parts are my brother's thing, and I go for Video Games and electronics and Nerf guns. Some of the newer or rarer nerf guns actually have decent value online. My grail would be a vintage Kenner Nerf Crossbow though.
oh nice...i need to educate myself on audio stuff!
Definitely vinyls keep out for vinyls and 45’s they can be worth a lot at my local goodwill I picked up two John Lennon 45’s that we’re worth 35 dollars together and I got them together for 2 dollars
some solid money in vinyls for sure!
Anytime I’m at a thrift store and I find empty cases, I usually ask and they just let me have them for free.
Thats how I got a Smash Bros Brawl case and artwork on Saturday! She said "...sure, we'd probably toss it"
This is random but was the first item that got me started reselling on the side, waterproof watch cases haha. Only found it once but made a good flip, $7 into $75. Also older godzilla toys.
oh dang, what a flip!
But have a nice day ❤🇳🇱
i am learning alot too! ill have to check out Donkey Kong Barrel Blast!
Knowing which clothes to find (men, women, kids) can lead to some good flips, but that takes time. I’m dabbling in it but honestly it probably isn’t for me. Great video this week!!!
man i know there is so much money to be made in clothes i just dont know what to look for!
Mine would be picking up and selling movies that aren’t extremely popular that actually have a lot of value and you taught me that
for sure...so much money to be made with movies!
I've had luck flipping sports jerseys. The main thing is ensuring names and numbers are stitched on. Jerseys are a lot like video games. People get rid of them and later have nostalgia for players.
Alot of money to be made in sports jersey!
Guitar hero controllers for 360... picked up 2 for 15 bucks and sold for 100 plus shipping, took 15 minutes to clean
oh wow...what a sale!
I always look for specifically vhs to dvd recorders, they always sell for over $100 and usually cost about $10 or $15.
for sure...i resold quite a few of them last year!
Question of the day - Navy cruise books. They all sell for well over $150 each. I just found one today that I paid $1.50 for and just posted on Ebay for $250.
oh wow..i had no idea...thanks for the heads up Chuck!
Here is the book in case you were wondering what a cruise book is.... www.ebay.com/itm/333705989384
@@dropchuck Thank you my friend!
Certain older cameras can be really good flips. Age, brand, condition matter a lot of course, but you won't believe what some are worth. People sell them dirt cheap at yard sales too. Also video cameras and certainly film and blank video tapes.
i have seen people make great money reselling cameras...i just dont know which ones to look out for when thrifting!
the calculators are always great. I used to like doing lots of Imagine-next figures, or small lots of lego.
heck yeah....lego figures are great
Hey Rick, I just found your channel like 4-5 days ago and have allready watched every video in the 10$ challange, great work man, your stuff is just what i look for in a retro game video, i guess im a little jealous of you scoring such good stuff, i live in sweden and its a lot harder to game hunt and find good stuff cheap here it seems, you can do it, but its harder, anyway keep up the good work
Don't resell much. But I did get lucky recently and found an NCAA 14 for 5$. Got 120& for it. Learned that from your videos!
insane how much that game is selling for....it is the game to pick up and resell!
People miss DVDs, VHS/DVD Combo units, blank media, and old pyrex and other old kitchen bowls and stuff. Someone I know just found a pyrex dish that he never saw before and picked it up because it was only 2 bucks and it was worth like $115.
Goosebumps books re-sell really well!
nice, i have so many in my closet hahaha
While they sell for decent money, they rarely sell.
yeah, i just didnt want to mess with it to be honest
