We finally got the video game collection organized with some new shelves this week! Crazy to think we have accumlated this entire collection by buying and reselling games from thrift stores, goodwills and flea markets. I also discuss some more tips when it comes to buying larger more expensive deals. Don't be scared to pull the trigger on some of these deals you see! Man, I was at Salvation Army a couple weeks ago. They had Mario Kart Double Dash, that 4-in 1 Zelda collection, and Super Monkeyball 2 for Gamecube, all unmarked. The location in my town is really hit or miss. Sometimes ridiculously priced, sometimes not. The lady charged me $5 a piece. Flipped Double Dash and got some stellar PS2 titles at my retro game store with the profit. Super grateful for your channel. I’m sure I’ve said that before, but I always get good tips and have built most of my game collection through this whole process.
Put the back on the shelf and then slide the whole thing down to the left more so it hangs over the corner of the wall but lines up with the shelf around the corner. That way you have access to the light switches
After binge watching this series for many days now, the bug to go out myself finally got to me. I just went out game hunting for the first time. I didn't find anything and I didn't like the experience. Spent a lot of money on gas and learned that most of the Goodwills near me price too high and don't seem to have any video game stuff anyway. It took several hours of my weekend. I'm too introverted for craigslist and FB marketplace meet ups. And competing against everyone else trying to do this just isn't my style. It was a valuable experience.
Now I know I like watching other people's highlight reel on TH-cam but I don't want to do it myself. And I had to teach my brain that it's not as easy as strolling into a store and picking up $50 worth of value. So it was worth it because now the desire to go out there myself is gone and I can just relax and watch this series for entertainment instead of feeling like it is a "how to" video that I must learn and replicate. I'd rather just work my job, do my other hobbies in my free time, and spend my money on retro games if I want to. It's way more cost effective than hunting and reselling unless those things ARE your hobby. I'd rather be woodworking, doing art, remodeling my house, etc. Going to make a hardwood shelf to display the gameboy color and NES / games that I'm going to buy online with money I efficiently got from working a few hours overtime (time and a half) at my decently paid job.

Game eye is what I use for my collection. I can list things as "trade' meaning they don't show up in the main collection too, which is what I do for my ebay listed ones.

4:13 That media shelf, it is a sign to me, hahahaha. I was watching another TH-camr's game room video the other day and he posted in his description a link to the media shelves that he used, guess what, it is the same one that you purchased in this video. It's a sign to me, hahaha. The shelves pretty much are so adjustable, they can hold a variety of different games from handhelds to regular sized game cases.
Next time you need shelves go to Ikea and get the "Laiva" shelves. They are like $25 and hold just about as much as that $100 shelf you bought at BestBuy.
10:08 i wish i had a store to buy VHS tapes. i love seeing them and sometimes i want to buy some of them. those cartoon dvds you passed on i would buy all of them.
Finally on the Gameye train. Prices are NOT 100% but its great for quick checking if a game is $3 or $30.
The constant need for more storage, a collectors sometimes dream/nightmare

Always put backing on your shelves, in addition to providing a background to the shelf, it also helps stabilize the shelf so it doesn't collapse in on itself :)

I had that shelve Rick. They are very rickity. Mine broke after a couple months. The back is it's support for as little as it does. But it's low profile is helpful. Also I agree with you, that TMNT VHS cover is seriously the best I've seen! Cheers my friend!
The best part is the TMNT Cartoons on VHS. Pretty soon we will have to be calling it vintage though......LOL!!! MAN I AM GETTING OLD!!!!!

I started flipping games after watching your channel. It has been going great! Best deal was from Facebook. PSP Go, DSI plus 6 games, 5 PSP games, 2 SNES games $200. I sold the PSP Go for $205 and a pokemon Heartgold for $90 and kept the rest. Thank you for showing me how great flipping games can go.

Ngl the wii u is going to be the next gamecube expect worse/better then the games are gonna get crazy prices on the next years or maybe I'm just too much but who knows but if theres one thing is better to get em before it's a gen 2 gamecube.
@@hectorsanchez2875 yeah that is true, I’m pretty sure Paper Mario TTYD used to be 60 or 80 but it’s now worth 120 or more. The same thing may happen with the Wii U but almost most 1st party games on the Wii U were ported but you never know

Been killing it here at my goodwills.Two minecrafts for 360 .1 minecraft for xbox 1.Disney dance party 1 and 2.Orangebox for 360.Hip hop dance for 360 sealed.Forza motorsport 7 for xbox 1.Madden 17 for 360 .2 copys of mario kart wii.Ncaa basketball 10 for 360.Also about 20 other $10-15 games.Hope it stays strong here.
It has been really slow going for me too. Here in Minnesota everybody hibernates so all of the garage sales that I do really good at won't start back up until late March
True. Up in Northern MN, it’s always a slow grind finding deals. Maybe once a month, I find something decent out at thrift stores. I can’t wait for garage sales to pick up again... in June.
Your lucky there are so many goodwills near your area, we only have one within a 40 mile radius and it is absolutely horrible. These goodwill's you go to look GREAT!
Hey! I was at a pawn shop yesterday and saw some NES and Genesis games there! They were marked $15, and after looking them up, they were only worth around $5-$10, but I still thought it was cool! I don't think I've ever seen that before, especially since they had about 20 games of each.
The pinball arcade titles are fun! If you see the Williams Collection grab it. The publisher lost the rights to those tables so they are no longer available online. Only way to play them is on a hard copy. There are plenty out there though so it shouldn't be too expensive. The Gorgar table is my fave!

I don’t know if you’re in a rental but if not there are smart switches you can (or an electrician can if that’s more comfortable) install to replace the switch. That way you technically don’t even need to manually turn it on or off. You can just use a smart device to do it.

I like the media shelf you got at Best Buy hopefully it’ll be around the next few years so I can get a shelf or two my boyfriend and I want to buy land build a house and incorporate a game room for me and him and those shelves will definitely come in handy to store our games and whatever else we put on the shelf

I've been looking for a Turtles Movie VHS to go with my Neca toys. And it sucks not getting that gem. Once I found Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the Xbox back when it was super expensive. So excited to get that jackpot but I sold it on a site that eventually went defunct. so. Womp womp.

I have one of those shelves and they are kind of flimsy. I went and built my own out of wood and painted them black then mounted them to the wall.
Just recently got a ps vita cib for 80, came with a cod game and mortal combat. Sold the console for 175 and the mk for 30.. but that was my first “expensive” deal

I got lucky and someone dropped off a bunch of hanna barbera, looney tunes, and power ranger vhs' at my goodwill
Oof. Yeah the grind is real sometimes, my friend. I’m starting to flip things myself from what I have had for years and it’s a grind. I will say that once my free relistings are up for some of the things I’m trying to offload on eBay, I’m pulling them and taking them to the local thrift store because they are not selling at ALL.

I tell people all the time who are trying to get into video games to first look at thrift stores and Not always Walmart and places like that.
Good wills in my aera are dropping the price on games and dvds to 99 cents. Same for board games.

This reminds me of me seeing a N64 Paper Mario cart for sale at a local game store for $30, I knew it’s actual value was at least double that. Easy move.

Aren't the backer boards for those shelves structural? I knownthey are usually for the bookshelves I have put together. Not sure about that one though.

I think it could be structural even if it is super flimsy, since it is meant to add strength on that plane. But you would know the difference in how wobbly it is compared to the other one you built.

Santiago, mostly due to the fact it's the last installment of the ncaafb series to this point. Not sure when there'll be another, but people still make updated rosters for the game and play it
