Basically CSS is like a pool table in a pub, you pay the money and play the game. CSGO is like going to a casino where you also get charged a little for entry.
@@dwnturn yeah, but valve decided to put a price on skins after seeing the absolutely huge free database of player made models and skins on cs/fpsbanana. They just did it 10x worse and gave them insane value, which combined with lootboxes started the whole gambling inside regular games. Valve is a disgusting company.

Source is definitely not "the forgotten middle child." Condition Zero is.
Condition Zero is so forgotten people don't think about it even exists. CS:CZ is truely forgotten and dead. CSS was never popular in the pro scene, but CSS for me and many others was all the fun mods and game modes, not serious scrim matches and the like. That was reserved for 1.6 and later CS:GO. CSS was truely unique and formed many childhood memories for many people.
The Xbox port of Counter Strike is even more forgotten than Condition Zero I think.

I mean there is lots of server where it filled with russian or turkish who scream at infinite decibel every 2 sec. You may fit with those server.

My brother, in his 20s had a mediocre pc and spent lots of hours on this game, coming from work, playing it, and having fun, i have a good pc now, he gave me his account, and i play CSS after school, he is still alive and hard at work to feed us and pay bills after my father's death, CSS was there for me, i love this game and it's community.

Source had a lot better gamemodes and original maps, zombie Escape alone was worth the game.

I like css better than csgo cause : the maps look more brighter and nicer, bunnyhopping feels smoother, more mods and the gamemodes are better on css than csgo, non stiff ragdolls, and it shaped my childhood and ive made so many friends on css

On the right servers the community is really nice, people are either nice or don’t speak at all like on servers such as 4played. The reason I prefer it over go (even though I play both) is mainly the (mostly) non toxic community and the spray patterns. The spray patterns just make so much more sense, and the community feels so much closer together since it is significantly smaller

I actually got banned from the same "Family Friendly" server because I dodged a flashbang and killed an admin who then used my pfp as an excuse to ban me despite it being sfw.
2022 update: got banned from a similar CSS server for the same reason, but instead of a steam avatar as the scapegoat the admin used it was the fact that I was a Global Offensive player

I used to play on a community called hell in 2014
I prefer the look of CSS. Cs go made most of the maps look dark and dingy, while CSS was more bright. I also prefer the rag doll physics in css

This exactly. If you join a local server you'll most likely find people talking. I recently joined a German server and the people on there have been playing together for over a decade and were talking constantly. It was great!
The country Im from doesn't have any Moded servers. They either have regular Surf, deathrun, 10v10 or smth and deathmatch

I loved CS:S, i played it all the time and it was the CS game that got me into CS
CS:S has hands down the most fun engine ever to exist. And you have even more freedom in it via Gmod.
CS in general is very popular here in Poland but finding a "normal" server is impossible nowadays. Everything is either a surf or a gun game or something similar. IDK how it is with 1.6 though.
Dust 2 grind. 24/7. Mostly no awp/auto. Some other modes with same people everyday (casual/competitive/deathmatch not so).
That's in a nutshell (like cs:s). GO is basically comp and dm (if you try public servers, hope to find a decent one).
Edit: the other maps are being played, but they are so overshadowed by dust 2.
And many Polish servers don't even work with v84 (is there v34 for Linux?)

When we had a family reunion at our family house, I got up in the attic where we have our computer when I was a kid, I opened it and it still has lots of games from when I was a kid. Source was also there,l4d,l4d2 etc. good times

When ever I'm feeling a little down I jump on and always makes my day better. Always have fun unlike alot of today's games that are overly competitive and frustrating. Mods are always great and I love the shooting in it compared to C's go which I never really mastered, I guess it's the smaller hit boxes idk. On top of that it's nostalgic being the first game I played on my friends older brothers PC.
I've played on the Old Guys server for about 4 months now, and they're all hostile against people who asks them questions regarding their rules.
They banned bhopping and when I asked why they threatened to kick me just because I asked.
Just losers irl who like power in their shitty ass server, lol.
Met so many of such servers with administration of sore losers where you cannot even criticize the rules and always act so self righteous... That's why i hate community servers and cs community in general; bunch of losers tbh...

Ayrton09 I strongly agree with you about csgo. Csgo was getting me obsessed with wasting money on virtual skins and I was done with the toxic community. There's also more community work in css compared to csgo. I also have a shitty pc and css is pretty low demanding. Css is overall better and cheaper.

Source is the game that makes me what I am. It is my youth.
Back in the day, people would came in those servers and talked about their life with strangers after a day of work.
Even a 13 years old kid like me can talk shit and have fun with someone who has 2 children and might disconnect anytime because he has to take care of his 1 year old daughter.
And it is the game where I met some of my best friends.
Source might not be the best game, but it's certainly the most important game for me.

Most of the servers I used to play are dead and all the people I used to play with have moved onto other things. I guess most of the appeal for the game for me was the servers I was involved in and the people.

Source is better because the gun play feels better, the movement is better, the phsysics and visibility is better. The sounds for the guns are better. I don't feel like I'm trudging through mud pulling deadweight behind me while moving.
Because of the details, and the interaction of objects, Plus you can play with Bots, and never underestimate them on easy mode.
The Movement/Animations in CS:S also way more superior than CS:GO.
CS:S is Really smooth while CS:GO has one of the worst movements; clunky shoulder peeks (Peeker Advnatages), insane fast gun speed adjustments that makes pistols OP and on top of that you have bad reg-hits + netcode/horrible servers for MM. Also the weird RNG elements that makes the whole set just horrific.

Massive Erection, you have no idea what you are talking about. CS Source is FAMOUS for having broken mechanics like peeker's advantages. That's why every other server in Source bans the AWP, because it's so unbalanced.
